I want the map layout to be more 2-dimensional instead of 1-dimensional like the Primes are. If you look at the maps, you can see this.
Uh, hold on a sec. I dont suppose youre confusin youreself. The prime maps have always been 2-dimensional, actually they're 3-dimensional, when you take the time to flip them over, spin the around and such. I dont really see what you mean, but i do get the feeling youre confusio two different game aspecs.
Sorry, I mean 3-dimensional.
In the Metroid Prime games, you travel from room to room mostly along the SURFACE of the planet. All I'm saying is that it's all horizontally oriented. I would like Metroid Prime 3 to more vertically-oriented. It's kind of hard to describe without some image, but HOPEFULLY you get the idea. :?
I also want this game to be rediculously huge and long (lol, that sounded wrong). What I mean is like, how about one of the 'levels' (example being like phendrana drifts or torvus bog) be the size of the whole world in MP1 or 2. I like games that I can't beat in the first week of ownership no matter how long I play.

Ohhh... lets just make the game 10 times bigger. 10 times more space on the disk. No problem.
I'd like to see all the 2d games in 3d, but that's just me.
I've often thought of this too, and I think its a fantastic idea.
I don't. Although Metroid Prime may be, in many ways "Super Metroid...IN 3-D-Eeeeeee...Nature Trail to Hell!" (dammit, wrong song!), there are irreconciliable differences between the two formats. First and foremost being that Retro cleverly realized that the shafts that dominate SM can only translate so well to 3-D (ick on climbing the Tourian escape in first person), and so instead replaced them with large circular rooms with less platforming (and less spikes). There's also a lot more rooms dedicated solely to morph balling. Changing the view changed everything.
Especially boss fights. Draygon? Mother Brain? Ridley? Who the hell wants to lock onto Draygon's belly and circle-strafe him to death? Mother Brain would suck...a glorified Parasite Queen. Sure, with the Rev's controller these ideas might get a little more reasonable, but...
Yeah. They can make games where Samus fights on Zebes, against Pirates and Phantoon and Draygon and Kraid, and Ridley and Mother Brain, and games where Samus hunts down Metroids on SR-388. But those wouldn't be Metroid II Prime or Super Metroid Prime...like Zelda the gameplay ideas and mechanics remained intact, but the structure is utterly different.
That's why you find a way to convert it to make it reasonable. When Zero Mission came out, it had everything that Metroid had, but it was expanded upon, and changed. Mother Brain became a different fight (somewhat) due to the new things they could do, so they could figure something out for 3D. Metroid Fusion seems reasonable for a conversion to 3D, it's too bad that nobody likes it.

Wouldn't that make maps...well un-readable? BTW I know what you mean.
My biggest hope with the maps, is that they increade the size, instead of the map nearly being a simple icon on your HUD. This is why im doing a lot of Z buttons taps when playing either Prime or Echoes, because i have nearly no clue of where it is im facing.
However, there are some things i would like to maybe not see. The Spring Ball for example. Hold the A button and launch yourself into an uber high hole. Then we wouldnt need infinite bomb jumps. But then we would want that also and therefore ask them to make it more proper.
I also would prefer having more, battling boss fights where you need skill to defeat. Alpha Blogg and Spider Guardian for example were almost pure luck (hate when that mouth doesnt wanna open ). So thats something they can improve on.
Yeah, I'm sure Retro would include moonjump as an item.
Spider Guardian takes so much luck it's ridiculous. I mean, I don't have to bomb him to stun him or even get into the slots; I just need to wait for him to kill himself. And he kept opening his mouth at him.
I think that a boss battle that doesn't alert you to the fact you're battling a boss until halfway through would be good. Also, it would be neat to have times when you're not a ball, not screw attacking and not in a cutscene where you can be in 3rd person mode. Perhaps when you want to use the speed booster…
How would you actually do the Speed Booster? It'd be a little annoying if it started by itself, but there aren't any buttons left for a dash button like in SM.
There are two Z buttons on the Nunchaku, I'm sure one of them could be held down for dashing and then shinesparking. The other could turn you into MaruMari!
I want to fight Kraid in 3-D. but he needs to be huge. Rediculously huge. Here's my idea for his fight: Does everyone remember the Sandcanyon in Echoes? The room where you blasted that big giant metal structure with the power bomb and it fell into oblivion. Well, the Kraid fight needs to be in a room just like that. You blow up the metal with a Power Bomb, it falls... And then it hits the ground, and breaks the ground open and Reveals Kraid. The room is like the Vault, whereas it has that one way in/out. You could easily Screw Attack your way out, but Kraid and all his lard would be in the way. So you'd have to fight him and make him sink back into oblivion to continue on.
Next, I want to see Dark Samus become real bad-ass. She was good, but... I want more. Keep the Boost Ball attack, and the fat beam attack she did in the last fight. But the rest of her attacks need to go. I want a fight that's going to leave me asking where my face is.
The return of the Plasma beam. It was the best, and we can all agree to that. But give it a better charge combo! My idea is the charge combo for the Plasma Beam would make it lob out a lava grenade or something. That would be awesome.
The Power Beam can stay. I know it saved my life on low-percent runs with it's fast rate of fire. But I want the return of the Spazer Laser. That would be sweet in 3-D. And carry over the Dark Beam. Give it a new name. To fit the story line. But the same mechanics of the Dark beam. It just looked sweet. But of course no beam ammo. So we got the Power Beam, Plasma Beam, Dark beam, and the Spazer Laser. The charge combos would be as follows: Power Beam= Super Missiles Spazer Laser= A searing beam that just slices things in half. Dark beam= Screw the Darkburst. Make it a scattershot combo. Plasma beam= A lava grenade. 'Nuff said.
Death to beam ammo. We're limited on Missiles as it is, especially those of us that like making low-percent runs.
After you shoot a door with its corresponding beam, the door turns blue. And stays blue. It was that way for all the 2-D games, why not the three? Besides, the doors with Missile/Super Missile/Seeker Missile/Power Bomb caps turned blue and stayed blue.
Which brings me to my next point. Death to the balst caps. Bring back Sandstone, Talloric Alloy, Cordite, and Benzium. I liked that idea...
Keep the way the Scan Visor worked on Echoes. Like, locking onto your intended scan target. Not a "scan point." But bring back those little pictures that were on the first Prime. You know, these things:http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a141/DeathNoble/th_Scan.jpg They were cool.
