However much I like this idea, I really can't imagine the Ice Beam being ditched for the Dark Beam.

Why? They're the same thing only with different colours.
LIES!  The Dark Beam has the cool "homing globs of doom" effect when charged!
Quote from DeathNoble:
The return of the Plasma beam.  It was the best, and we can all agree to that.  But give it a better charge combo!  My idea is the charge combo for the Plasma Beam would make it lob out a lava grenade or something.  That would be awesome.
The Light Beam IS the Plasma Beam. And the Sunburst is kind of a grenade thing.
I agree with DeathNoble, except I dont want anything to do with the light or dark beam unless they change them a lot. What would be interesting though would be having a different starter weapon. Even though the power beam has been in every metroid game, I would like to see what a different one would look like (I mainly got this idea because I was tired of using the power beam MP2).
You can't really change it though, its been in all of the games. Changing it just wouldn't work.

Exactly why I'd rather have the Dark Beam thn the Ice Beam.  And the scattershot on Dark Beam because the scattershot would freeze foes in the dark energy.  If it  doesn't kill them.

As for the Light Beam being the Plasma Beam...  It's not.  Because it doesn't look as cool, takes at least 5,000 shots to set something on fire, and doesn' have the same charge effect.  And as for the Sunburst being a grenade?  No.  Because the shot isn't affected by gravity.  I want an actual grenade launched.  So the higher you aim with R (or R's equivilant on the new system), the farther the grenade goes.  Make it a grenade launcher that's realistic.

And one more thing I'd love to see on Prime 3 that I forgot to mention:  Flickerbat the map being tied in to a button.  Put the map on the Start menu.  There was nothing more annoying than trying to pull off a difficult rodeo jump when suddenly, BAM!  The map.  Think of all the possibilities if they had freed up the Z button on Echoes!  They could have put the map on the start menu and brought in the Speed Booster and tied it into the Z button.  Hitting Z would've activated the shinespark...
And my god I think he's gone and found a way to put speed booster in after all!
I dont think speed booster is possible because the maps would have to be changed a lot. And if it were possible, would you dash, or use it any time, or what?
Now we just have to figure out how to make it work...

We all do realize that if the Speed Booster was implemented into a 3D Prime world and it worked the same way as in the 2D games...  There would be almost no secret worlds.  At all.  Your only chances would be from doing tricks like the secret world in Hall of Honored Dead in Echoes.  If the speed booster made you jump straight up and keep going until you hit something...  The developers would have to make an invisible barrier that spanned the ceiling of every room.  Even open rooms would have ceilings.  The jump could be started at any point in the room, so the barrier would be everywhere.  Thus eliminating most (if not all) secret worlds.

My idea for if there was a Speed Booster is as follows.  Eliminate the boosting part.  Save the boosting around for the Boost Ball.  But tie in the shinespark and just the shinespark to the button that would activate it.  Make it work just like Dark Samus' shinespark.  That'd be good.  Give you just another jump's worth of height and propels you forward.  The doing a slow-motion backflip would definetly give the camera enough time to move out of first person to third person view.  Then it launches you forward real quick.  You could create another type of element (talloric alloy, sandstone, cordite, benzium,  ____) which the shinespark alone could destroy.

Man, I should hire myself out to Nintendo to help with Metroid game production. :D

Its not our job, its nintendo's. Unless they read our posts, its not really worth thinking up these ideas. But that is a pretty good idea anyways.

That's why I said this:

Twisted Evil
Then do so.
If only they would hire me out to help them...  Crying or Very sad

Oh!  More things for Prime 3:

The return of the Spring Ball.

Every Space Pirate in the game is a Pirate Comando.  Not a Dark Commando, just a Commando.  They were tough.

And redisgn the suits!  Have the same suits, same colors...  But give them a totally whole new look!  Like that Varia Suit would look like the Dark Suit, just with Varia colors.  That'd be intersting to see...  Just redisgn the suits.  The color looked good in Prime (especially Phazon) but the design looked better in Echoes.  therefore, the suits in Prime 3 should be a cross between those suits.  And instead of making the suits pointless, how about making them so they did more than damage reduction.  Again, the reference to the Phazon Suit.  It reduced damage, eliminated a certain enviromental damage, and had an effect on your weapons.  Now there was a suit...  *Ghets lost in his dreams about the Phazon Suit*
Not many people have thought about the storyline. MP2's storyline wasnt too impressive so I hope MP3 does a good job. I would like the return of kraid like everyone else does.

Here's what I'd like to see in MP3:

-Stackable Beams

-Spazer Beam

-The ability to unequip items

-The real Screw Attack, not the hybrid SJ/SA that they had in Echoes.

-The real Space Jump, like the one in Super

-Perhaps the High Jump Boots, which would come before the Space Jump Boots

-Speed Booster

-Super Missiles

-Power Beam

-New Charge Combos

Yeah, I know, those were pretty much all taken from Super. What's wrong with that?
But, finally and most importantly, I'd like to seesome new upgrades/items. Especially Beams. We haven't seen any truly new Beams since Super. Yes, this means you, Dark and Light Beams. Go exact replicas of the Ice and Plasma Beams. Oh, and the Annihilator, which sucked, anyway.

most of wht i manted was siad by him although id like to also see doors that are opend with missiles/supermissiles/pbombs like in super and once opend become blue(openable by any beam) or alternativly be able to shoot the doors open (i.e ice/wave/plasma beam doors) with any gun selected once u have collected the beam and not have to change it to open the door.

more or less id like to to be more of a 3d-Super Metroid then like Prime1/2

but id have to say the real space jump will be kinda botched since well all be flying outside the levels lol!
Sylux, the red/green/yellow doors WERE in MP2.

Storyline wise? Find the source of Phazon. Phazon has biological properties, yes? Go to a planet of Phazon, where all life is based on it.  Samus must find a way to eliminate the Phazon.

Also, crazy theory for the name of the planet in MP3: Hydra. Why? In MP1, the two Phendrana labs were named Aether and Hydra. Named, perhaps, after the other planets the pirates found Phazon on?
Had they actually discovered those planets at that point? I didn't think they had. I ain't saying you're wrong, but I'm pretty sure they found Aether after they were beaten on Tallon IV.

It'd be cool to see the Crystal Flash and Beam Shield combos from SM in Prime 3.

Yeah, i thought that Aether might have had something to do with the lab at one point. Then a few people told me it was sheer coincidence for this happening. Sure i know you think its just that is seems rather logical(which isnt so farfechtd, but still, i think retro might not have even started the storyline for prime 2, not to mention prime 3.).
Assuming the movie from E3 is going to be in the final game, the planet looks to be completely covered with Phazon (or at least the rocks look like Phazon has soaked into them). I'd imagine that Samus would need a Phazon Suit pretty early on in the game to survive long.
everybody knows it's true
Exactly what I said! The end of phazon as we know it!
Quote from Mr. Aran:

It's gotta happen soon, or else the time gap between M1 and M2 will grow to be too big and it'll get wierd. MP3 or 4 will be the final Prime.
I don't imagine there will be an MP4, at least not in the same part of the storyline.
Personally, I think that Phazon originated on a planet that's long gone.  The original home planet of Phazon goes nova, launches pieces of itself out into space.  "Metroid" Prime was a creature that lived on the planet, it survived the explosion of the planet and lived in a meteor fragment of its homeworld until it impacts Tallon IV.

I think that's what happened because Phazon wasn't on Tallon IV until a meteor struck it, and Aether/Dark Aether didn't have any Phazon on it/them until the stellar object.  Suspicious that two meteors from who knows where brought Phazon to planets that didn't have it to begin with...  Shocked

But the rocks in the teaser video did look like they were saturated with Phazon...  Be interesting to see how they incorporate a suit that's resistant to Phazon into the storyline.  The Phazon Suit wasn't really a suit, it was just Phazon that corrupted the suit.  Which took place from the dead Omega Pirate falling and destablizing on top of Samus...

I hope Prime 3 has a decent storyline.
in the name of justice!
Ehh, I've never cared about the storyline at all.  Any game that features exploring+action+"loot" has got everything I need right there.

I actually really liked the storylines from Majora's Mask and Metroid Prime.  Both of them were really subtle, that there was a big thing that you played the main game for, that wasn't complicated or pretentious or anything, but you could go off on the side and read logs (MP) or talk to people (MM) and really get into the world and story too.
Metroid Prime is a Metroid. The Pirate logs say it is genetically similar to Metroids, but on a highly evolved level. Either Phazon-Planet has Metroids, or a Metroid was in space and got hit by the asteroid and got trapped inside.
