it could always, you know, not suck like in prime 2.

Yeah, I really think that Corruption is going to be the total opposite of Echoes, especially with the new type of control. Am really, really looking forward to it, even after being disappointed.

the reason that MP2 sucked so much err... ing, was that it introduced too much to the series and left too much out. It was too new. it strayed too far.

Im gladd MP3 has ridley in it. I just hope they dont take good upgrades and turn them into useless crap (screw attack).
funny, i didn't mind any of that. i just thought it should have had less than 484984209840833020934280230 bugs.
in the name of justice!

Huge, interconnected areas would be nice, as would being able to use your ship to move around (like the Epoch in Chrono Trigger).  Don't make it instantly able to go anywhere (like the Epoch could  Rolling Eyes ), but once-you-visit-an-area kind of thing.  Then again, being able to visit an area early (but not really do anything significant because you lack the requisite weapons/suit/secondary items/etc… would be a nice touch.

err...that part about chrono trigger is not true.  you already have end of time portals that go to every time period except 12,000 bc, which you were already in and the story legitimately requires that you be able to reach it somehow (actually, i suppose not, as lavos gets to ruin anything anyway, but...).

the other thing really begs to be sequence broken.  but that would be cool.
i'd like the game to have custom weapond combos....like rapid fire plus charged shots or something...
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
imo the reason mp2 was weaker than mp1 is that the game was rushed to release. i remember that Retro was working in mp1 since like 2000 or even before that.

in contrast, mp2 had less development time and they wanted to some extra stuff like multiplayer and wanted to make the game too big (a lot of the dark aether areas are just like: "why does this room exist?") and they had to spend more time for that, which in the end reduced the overall room for development and they had to rush things to be on time. they also were making the PAL version at the same time and the translations.

hopefully, they'll have the right amount of time now and will plan well the worlds (but the planets sound like huge areas and that sounds a bit worrying if they can't do them right)

You're right, I just forgot about it… Embarassed  Actually, the whole reason FOR the Epoch was to go to 12,000 B.C. because they banished you last time you were sent there.
I wonder if the pirates will have Phazon-troopers. Tha'd be cool.
All I'll say is that in any trilogy I've played, the first game is never the best one.
I really hope that MP3 will be exactly like echoes  (I'm sorry for saying that, because I'm probably pissing off 90% of the people with that sentence).

I doubt that there will be any sequence breaks in this one. ghetto jump and bsj will probably go bye bye and no more stupid things like only returning sanctuary fortress energy and miraculously get the light suit.

meh, its retro studios. I just hope they're dumped after this game. Find an equally suitable company that doesnt try to erase hardcore fanbases off of the face of the intraweb.

The hunters from MPH arent coming back... they got destroyed by Gorea. so the hunters they mention will have to be new ones.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
They survived.  Watch the final flying away scene--the same six lights that flew into Oubliette when you first flew there fly out of it.

I always thought that there were approximately 8 lights, just i couldnt count them all, and that those were the octoliths leaving the station to go back to their respective areas....

meh, i guess not. :P

I'd tend to agree, for the most part. Usually, the third game is the best, then the first, with the second being the weakest. Let's hope this holds true again.
go sonic.

Click the first link. Near the end of the video, it will show Samus using Screw Attack. WOOHOO!!! IT'S BACK!
Anywhere, everywhere
Un whoohoo! It's still crap-afied like in Echoes.
Well, hey, I loved it. Not in battle, but in puzzles and getting around.
Anywhere, everywhere
It's not bad, it was just much better in the 2d games.

Ready and willing.
Honestly, I think you're confusing more powerful with better.

Cool. I think the current Screw Attack is perfect for a 3D game - it's my favourite weapon in Echoes, in fact. Doing it like the 2D games would be unwieldy - how the fuck are they supposed to work something like that out?

Games = 3, 2, 1
Movies = 2, 1, 3

Usually.

EDIT:

Which is the best in those lists? The first number listed?
Yep.

Which is the best in those lists? The first number listed? If so, I am puzzled as to finding a movie trilogy that matches that formula. Games, yeah, but not always.

The Empire Strikes Back > Star Wars > Return of the Jedi

The Temple of Doom > Raiders of the Lost Ark > The Last Crusade
(ignoring the fact that TToD is a prequel, of course)

Aliens > Alien > Alien³
