Adding the Super Missile as socond weapon instead of beam combo will allow for more combos (sweet). Maybe straight seekers was a bad idea.

Not have 10 rooms between the save room and the boss room. (I'm looking at you MP2: Echoes!) Especially when I got killed 20 times by the boost guardian.

There are only 2 rooms between the save station and the boost guardian and I think that Retro can't do fewer. it's the contrary, Retro should have put longer routes between annoying bosses and save stations.
I want Samus to be more maneuverable, not only do side-dashes. A battle like when you face SA-X in 3D, that'll be fantastic (screw attack fight). An important thing is the music, especially the boss battle the music has to represent the fight of your LIFE (hope that thing is as challenging as the song represents) the music kinda gives you the feel about the game and I've been told that in Super Metroid the places gives a bit of an indication that you're getting closer to a boss, is that why super metroid is such a good game?
prime did too ... go gigantic room in your path.

Ok, perhaps I exaggerated a bit. How about the spider guardian. I remember having to travel and fight a bunch of Quads or Rezbits before the spider guardian, or maybe my memory is just bad.
Since I never played Super Metroid I'd just like to know why it is such a good game, we might see that in prime 3
think metroid prime (1) in 2d.
in the name of justice!
Without boost ball.  So no Ridley cheesing.

If you just take it as atmosphere and level design though, yeah, they are incredibly similar.  I think Super is a bit easier on most fronts.  Except Ridley is hard.
I just hope that Metroid Prime 3 won't seem too much like Star Fox with the ship and all, metroid should stay unique. And really I like the Flamethrower. Did I already mension extra hatches?
The flamethrower of Prime 1 was a great idea, but it was made miserably.  I mean, if it had a greater range it would've been nice...
Especially my friend loved charring thing with the flamethrower... and then he complained it won't work after a minute because he didn't notice he used up all the missiles
What should be done with Prime 3:

Take the unexplained parts of the plots of some of the Metroid games so far, and tie them in.  Allow me to explain without fancy wording:  The story of Adam.

You see, Samus took off of Aether and was gone, never knowing that Dark Samus got out of Dark Aether and reformed in space.  So Samus should be under the impression that all is well in the galaxy.  The story goes like this:

It all starts when Samus' old "friend" Adam calls her up one day and invites her to go cruisin around the galaxy.  Sort of like a "I haven't seen you in so long, let's get caught up over a date where we just drive around aimlessly!" kinda thing.

Instead of it being peaceful, they end up running into a Space Pirate Phazon smuggling ring.  They get shot down.  Now, since it was a date, Samus doesn't have her suit.  Thus, making part of the game a 3D suitless segment, like colonel quote suggested.

Samus and Adam get split up.  Until later, when they meet again just as suitless Samus comes face-to-face with Dark Samus.  Just as Samus is about to die, in comes Adam, out of nowhere, and gives up his life to save Samus.

Later in the game, Samus uncovers more (Yes, more) Chozo Ruins deep underground.  She finds this totally new, totally awesome looking Power Suit and totally new and awesome suit upgrades, along with totally new weapons.  Weapons like my idea of the Chemical-Sludge Beam.  Amongst those new weapons, she finds an Atomic-Disruptor Beam, since
the scans of Dark Samus 2 said she coul only be permanently killed by total, atomic disruption.

But somehow, she looses the suit, but destroys Phazon and Dark Samus for good.  Then as she's taking off the planet, suitless in some Space Pirate escape pod (Flashback to Zero Mission) she gets rescued by the federation who takes her home.

The game ends with a cutscene in which it has: Samus checking her mail and seeing an order from the federation to exterminate all the remaining Metroids on SR388...
I wonder if you get to cross the bottom of an ocean in this, like going island to island, would be cool. It would be challenging if they put volcanos down there. But who knows if our Phazon planet even HAS water. Or traveling between planets for that matter.

It's gonna have phazon beam, I know it. I'm anxious to see it's beam combo!
Big Phlickerbatting Gun.

Because 'Ph' is what Phazon starts with, and...yeah. I guess I just thought of Quake 2 a bit too much.

Maybe the Phazon combo beam can only be shot once, and shot at just the right spot. That would be awesome, adding a further sense of drama to the final boss battle.
If you do get to fly to other planets maybe Zebes is available. Wonder how the Brinstar remix would be like, I wonder how it will be in 3D? How ill phazon affect Kraid, Ridley or even Mother Brain? Hope we won't be disapointed. Maybe the final boss will be our old friend MP but one more step up the evolution ladder.

i was thinking that they should make bosses that are damaged with the strongest moves like charge combos only. that would make the combos more useful overall.

example: suppose that there was a boss in MP2 that were resistant to all the beams and missiles. then the only way to damage and stun it for a bit is using a Sonic Boom shot.  thn the fight goes like, move and dodge the boss, wait until you can shoot it and you are in a place where the shot can't miss, shoot sonic boom, hit the thing badly and then proceed to blast it with your other weapons until it recovers. then recharge and start procedure again. maybe have the boss have a somewhat unpredictable pattern or fast moves so it can't be blasted every time. (i'm thinking about some bosses in Star Fox 64 that couldn't be blasted unless you hit them with bombs in specific places. that's where i got this idea)
Look, witty text!
Yaknow, it wouldn't suprise me if the "final big beam upgrade that kicks the final boss's otherwise invicible butt" turns out to be a red phazon cannon.

Also, they'd best not have all those purely aesthetic computer screens and stuff everywhere, like in Echoes.  It drives me crazy when I play that game because I keep wanting to scan all this stuff, and I can't!

At any rate, I could totally go for a phazon-infused return of Meta Ridley.  We never did see him actually die, after all--he just got pushed off the side of the temple and down to the bottom of the crater.  That, and I want to see Ridley pick up Samus and bite her in 3-D.

I want to see the ability to grapple enemies.  Maybe even a boss could require it--your weapons wouldn't be able to harm it, but you could grapple the thing and fling it off a cliff and into a pool of acid.  You could use the grapple beam to do things like complete a broken electrical conduit in a puzzle.

I also want one of the most totally awesome things you could ever imagine for a Metroid game: Chozo warriors.  Live Chozo warriors, in their Chozo Power Suits, fighting off phazon-infused monsters as they try to stop it all at the source.  You wouldn't have to see them much; just enough to show a glimpse of what kind of power and glory the Chozo once held, before they retreated into isolation.

Lastly, I can't help but wonder if perhaps phazon is actually the product of another, higher intelligence.  I mean, phazon is an inordinately complex substance, considering nothing like it had even been discovered by the Space Pirates and the Galactic Federation alike.  Supposedly not even the Chozo knew about phazon beforehand; and considering that they're a race so advanced as to be able to discard their mortal bodies and achieve what might best be described as "nirvana," it can't be something that is just spontaneously crapped out of a random pile of molecules.
red phazon cannon...ooh! i got this from another site:

there are 3 diffrent phazon types: blue (refined), red (pure), green (raw). green chews through anything, and there's no protection from it, except for the mysterious "shadow suit." the big boss is a friggin' huge one-eyed thing. and phazon was originally created by some race to be a clean power source, but something screwed up. the big one-eyed dude made the meteors, and chuncked them.

sounds pretty cool, but it has its cliches.
where'd you find that?

also:

3D shinespark.  Drool.
no beam ammo.  that's just dumb.
3D kraid = 3D pansy...but still.  Smash bros Kraid is almost scary looking, and I'm sure it'll be improved upon should they decide to do it.
3rd person option.  Oh god please.  It'll never happen, but it'd be a dream come true.
and finally:  Zebes.  Or anyway, since I know it wont take place there, Zebes in the future.  3D Zebes.  Its been rebuilt before, why not again? Commence drool.
Mister ...
Good Prime 3 Ideas.

1. NO missile button combo, just push a button to switch between Missiles and super missiles like in ZM
2. a 3-d suitless Samus phaze of the game, for whatever reason, kinda like in ZM.
3. A 3-d mother Brain. Stupid, but still, more planets go boom!
4. All the prime games have Ammo limits?  That's crap. Especially since Missiles count as normal ammo (at least in Prime Hunters Demo)
5. Shine Sparking and speed boosting.
6. Being able to infinate Space Jump, like they did in the 2-d Metroids.

I would love to see teh Prime series be redone in 2-d, and the 2-d Metroids go 3-d,

I noticed something in metroid prime games. The planets (Tallon IV & Aether) looked moonless. But I think Retro overlooked this because it will serve no purpose in the game.
But just think if the space pirates had a base on the moon, also what would it be called? But there should be something more to it. Maybe some ruins?
Cook of the Sea
Isn't it like impossible for both a planet and its satellites to be habitable?
You know, they kinda live in domes to retain air. So the ruins, you could say, might be like sanctuary fortress. Only all broken like.
Cook of the Sea
So...a game environment with the ruins of a life-support system which, being in ruins, is now broken, so hence...no life-forms?

they could put a escape sequence there. grab the item hidden in the ruins/fortress and it will start collapsing, making you escape fast before it kills you.

on another thing, i seriously doubt they'll put in the infinite Space Jump and the Speed Booster in MP3. those things would be very impractical in 3D and i bet the Speed Booster would be awfully limited like SJ and Screw Attack if they put it in the game. i think the Boost Ball is the closest we'll see to a Speed booster in MP games.

btw, i want them to put in the Force Ball and/or Death Ball as temporary upgrades or upgrades you get vs the last boss. how come Samus' last-boss-only weapons (Hyper Beam, Phazon Beam, etc) are only Beam based? why couldn't she have a 1337 Ball attack or an Uber Missile to fight the last boss instead of a Beam? it would be a nice change of pace
