Speaking of rooms, I would like the world to be bigger. Retro's definition of bigger is having more rooms. My definition of bigger is having larger rooms and less boxed in. Me seeing tons of space in the lookout rooms want me yearning for an open field. Grand Canyons would be teh leet.

Since MP3 is going to be for Rev, I wouldn't be surprised if we got stuff like that in the game.
in the name of justice!

The way this is going, I'm scared someone will suggest bringing back the freaking Reserve Tanks.

Those were awesome.  But only in context.  Now they'd just be downright ridiculous.  They certainly have the feeling of "uh-oh, we only have 96 items...but 50 and 250 are such nice numbers, what will we add?"

I want reverse tanks.
in the name of justice!
Collect them all for the lowest percent possible!
I think he meant reserve tanks, like on SM.

Considering how the Rev is gonna be much more powerful than the Cube (well it should be, at least) I reckon you'll have some huge environments in the game. I'd like to see an environment like in the Transformers(PS2) game, with an area similar to the Antarctica level, which had a huge open space in the middle of the level. That'd be cool. (No pun intended)
I want another space station level, like in Prime 1, only with being out in space more. You could get the Space Jump Boots there too.
Beware: off duty ninja
what I would really like to see would be a lack of elevators and doors. . . .unless used in areas that a sentient game enemy such as space pirates would be.

weapons that actually keep thier properties (I know prime 1 did a good job with most beams, but they still didn't have the wave beam go through walls) from previous metroids that would look graphically amazing. just think of how good it could look if the wave beam actually went through certain walls in the game. new puzzles, and new scenarios while fighting.

a new item to collect. most of the items that samus has aquired have been around since the first metroid (and most of her items also improve her skill, but in the 2d gaming sense) I'd like to see something totally new that takes advantage of the 3d gaming environmnet, and isn't a gimmicy item (looking at you, seeker missles) I can't think of what this new item could be, but as long as it isn't just put into the game with the sole intention of stopping non linear playthroughs of metroid (translator doors, adam)
this item needs to be as much a part of metroid gameplay as the morph ball and missles have generally been

It'd be cool if they made a new way to explore huge open areas (the ship comes to mind, especially if they gave it weapons too).

Hmm, jet pack anyone?

They should have more types of doors period, biological ones would suit those areas, even if they were just fast-growing vines that you blow away to go through it'd be better than doors everywhere.  Elevators, well you could climb a shaft or something…

I think that elevators are fine. They give a reasonable explanation for how you get to difrerent areas and have always been a staple of the Metroid series.
Fewer doors and larger rooms would be cool, but I don't like the idea of having HUGE areas, with very little doors. I like the Metroid feeling of going from room to room. This isn't Zelda, folks: there shouldn't be a Hyrule Field in Metroid, imo.
I do like the idea of having more vertical rooms, though. I think that MP3 might make more use of Walljumping and small platforms and such. I hope so, at least.

Also, is it just me, or does anyone else still not get the point of having Reserve Tanks? Wouldn't it be the same thing to just make them normal Energy Tanks to collect? That's all they are, except you can't see them on the normal game screen. This whole "refilling" is nonsense. Just having four additional normal Tanks would do the same thing.
Reserve Tanks are a stupid idea. I agree wholeheartedly with Ark.
Armor Guardian
Reverse tanks, however, are a very different.
Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD

- Definitely, not "open plain"-type rooms, although at most ONE "room" of that type could certainly work if it's in context.  VARIETY in the type of general room layout would make me happy.

- For vertical rooms, I picture having a large, yet vertically oriented room with a door on top that leads to another kind of room.  A good example is Super Metroid's Maridia.

- I want the map layout to be more 2-dimensional instead of 1-dimensional like the Primes are.  If you look at the maps, you can see this.
anyone who thinks reserve tanks are useless isn't watching scarlet's 0:55 100% enough.

Uh, hold on a sec. I dont suppose youre confusin youreself. The prime maps have always been 2-dimensional, actually they're 3-dimensional, when you take the time to flip them over, spin the around and such. I dont really see what you mean, but i do get the feeling youre confusio two different game aspecs.

As for me, im happy as long as they keep locking-on-to-ennemies standard. Otherwise, i dont really think i will that easy for me. and considering just how fast the ennemies in the prime series are able to go, that would seem very difficult if i werent able to lock on. Othe than that, im perfectly fine about anything they put.

(oh, and considering that prime 3 is the closure to the prime series and goes on to super metroid, i think the spazer might just appear as one of the beams, and maybe the spring ball. Now that would be funny!)

Not to be all "OMG ITS IN SUPER" or anything, but I'd actually find it kinda nifty to have the Crystal Flash appear, because it's just so randomly cool and left field. I'm not sure whether it should be an item or just an natural ability like in Super though.
I still think that Samus should be able to use the grapple beam like an electric whip. Sort of like what she can do in SSBM, but actually be able to hurt enemies just by hitting them with it. That way, she can grapple onto an enemy with her left hand, and then be able to blast them with a Super Missile and have the thing stand still.  :D

I would really like to see what could be done with the Speed Booster in the Prime series. Maybe we could use it to escape a very fast, very dangerous boss until we can find a way to defeat it/end up in the "Real" boss room. (Man, that would have to be a LONG horizontal room though...)

More vertical rooms are a must: Not by having elevators/wall jumps like in Sanctuaty Fortress, but more like the good old days with tons of small platforms.

Either have stronger Pirates, or something else that is really nasty and will leap out of the darkness without needing it's very own cutscene.  (Which totally destroys the surprise that should come with a creature like that Wink)

And, most important of all...

Have some powerful Metroids that send terror into the hearts of the players! (You know, like the good old days of ROS)

Hold the analog stick attachment in one hand. Fire the Grapple Beam, using one of the triggers on that attachment. Shoot at enemies while Grappling with the "normal" NRV controller. Steer the Grapple with the analog stick. 'Twould be awesome.

Well, a Wave Beam that goes through Walls... I think those kind of thingys are already made in prime, when you have to energize with the wave beam these circuts.

I think some Kind of "Fly around with your ship in large rooms" would be cool... Or Metroid Prime 3 Operating in a whole Solar System, so you have to change the planets. But this would make Metroid a SpaceSim or something.
So... lets say you just Jump in your Ship and say just like in Echoes Main Energy Controller "Fly me there" and then you get there.
Then I'd like some... COOP MODE:
Player 1, Samus and Player 2, a Marine or something but this would be hard to play because with just the half of screen...
Yeah, that would be cool, but im not much of a flying game type fan. In other words games that have you in space flying in your ship firing your cannon at random objects.

But i would really like to have something never before seen i a metroid game: ie. a time bomb (a power bomb modification that allows you to time it to blow a mini-boss in one hit with 3 pbombs Laughing ), umm... some other cool little things.

I find that stacking and combining beams in a prime game would be great, but then nintendo will do something relating to super (because super probably comes after this one here.).

I don't think so, the Prime Series take place between Metroid: Zero Mission (even if there is a very heavy argument about this) and Return of Samus.
This Idea with Time Bombs is good, but I think this is just a Seeker in form of Bombs.

How about a Waterthrower like in Super Mario Sunshine?

Samus has too big an arsenal for a Water Thrower to really be useful outside of barrier-type things like big fires in the way and stuff.
And once you get the Varia, fires won't be a problem.

Ah yes, this was also a practical joke though.

Btw. I would like to see a SM 3D Port.
I'd like to see all the 2d games in 3d, but that's just me.
