Quote from HYRIC:
I noticed something in metroid prime games. The planets (Tallon IV & Aether) looked moonless. But I think Retro overlooked this because it will serve no purpose in the game.

Not all planets have to have a moon...

Isn't it like impossible for both a planet and its satellites to be habitable?

It's a video game.

In this music vid, the metroid prime 3 vid that we all know about is extended. It's a little after the middle of the vid.
Anywhere, everywhere
That's actually the same length as the one that Hyrule.net showed a while ago. Notice the Hyrule.net in the corner. Wink
This may seem stupid but... If you can move the controller and push a button and Samus will block an atack with the arm cannon taking less or no damage
This has probably been speculated a lot in this topic but I can't be bothered to check through 13 pages... But I HOPE KRAID IS IN IT!

*starts dreaming*

Samus walks into a large cavern, she takes a look around, then, at the other side, there are many explosions.

The explosions continue and become more violent, Kraid's battle theme from Super Metroid - gloriously remixed - starts playing as boulders fall off the roof blocking the enterance. There's a massive explosion as something gigantic starts rising out of the ground at the other end of the cavern... it's PHAZA-KRAID, Kraid infused with Phazon!
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Am I the only one who doesn't want the Pirates to make an appearance at all?  Their presence in MP2 seemed pretty forced, and I have a feeeling that it's going to be even more so in this one...

Hey, now that you mention it, the Metroids weren't the only ones missing in Hunters...
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
Metroid Prime Hunters should be called "Samus and Co. Hunters" :p

i hope that if the Pirates are back, they have a big purpose in the game. in MP2 they were there just to be possesed by Ings. Metroids should be common too and cause a lot of trouble. there should be a very good reason (coupled with MP itself) to exterminate them all in Metroid 2 (since that's what comes after MP3)

uh...does weval count?....now come to think of it i understand why i was less anoyed unlike most metroid games where shit and pirates came outa no where.

Shit, you're right.
It's been speculated that the planet MP3 takes place on is the planet the Phazon originates from. So expect to see many Metroids... There should be Space Pirates on the planet too... And the final boss - a gaint Phazon Producing mega-monster!
What do Metroids have to do with Phazon?  I am going to be very surprised if the final boss does not turn out to be Dark Samus/Metroid Prime, too.  Although I suppose it could take the form of a gaint Phazon Producing mega-monster!.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
I'd really like to see one of the unused Dark Samus boss concepts in the MP2 art gallery.  It's like...  big, and stuff.  I dunno.  Can't really explain it.
Look, witty text!
Well, Metroid Prime was a phazon-producing mega-monster, before Samus ripped it a new one in the Tallon IV impact crater.

Metroid Prime/Dark Samus will also play a major role in the upcoming third installment, too; that much is a given.  It's questionable as to whether it'll be the final boss, though, as that might be a bit too straightforward.

When looking back on the end of the fourth (and final) battle in Echoes, it certainly appears that Dark Samus's seething hatred for Samus Aran turns into an almost (and for lack of a better word) childlike fascination.

Considering that, it would not suprise me if, in Metroid Prime 3, Dark Samus actually develops some semblance of respect for Samus Aran; who, despite being essentially inferior in power, has emerged as the victor from every encounter.  Considering that, it's certainly understandable why Dark Samus would start to regard Samus with a certain amount of intrigue.

...Anyway, the point is that it will not suprise me in the very least if Dark Samus ends up sacrificing itself to save Samus Aran at some point in Metroid Prime 3--just like how the metroid hatchling does the same in Super Metroid.

Also, if Samus is going to find the "phazon planet," then I imagine the Space Pirates would have no problems finding it, too.  While the game most probably won't be another "Samus vs the Space Pirates" scenario, our favorite beam fodder will play a more pivotal role in the game's plot--assuming Retro Studios has learned anything from Echoes (which was a sort of experiment, from a design standpoint, anyway).
everybody knows it's true
Maybe in Metroid Prime 3 it would show the origin of Gorea. Maybe it was too infected by Phazon?
speedbooster was great in super so that would be cool to see in mp3

I want something new like the gunship, we have never been able to use it couse it's been borken. :x
It would be cool if you can fly to other planets  :D
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
^^ speaking of flying the gunship, it would be good if the overall area you explore was spreaded a lot more farther. MP1 and 2's enviorments felt too small considering that those were planets.
the areas should be farther and the gunship could be your transport to them (include some underground entrances too but entrances you can access later in the game, making the gunship entrance the main one)

and, there should be a new weapon. a weapon that takes advantage of the Revolution controller. a lot of the sucessful Metroid items came from the 2D games. there should be sucessful new items from the 3D Metroid games.
About Metroid Prime 3's unveiling at this years E3, from IGN, Matt, the editor on the revolutionchannel, his own blog:

"4/14 1:38pm, Matt-IGN posted:

"Does this mean it is guaranteed to be there?

Don't toy with me now."

Well, yeah. And fully playable."

AWESOME :D

Just wanted people to know, cause I haven't read it elsewhere!
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Hardly surprising.

I don't think DS would sacrifice itself for Samus, the only reason the hatchling sacrificed itself was because it thought samus was it's mother. DS might help Samus in some way but probably only because both their lives are being threatened by something worse.

I think the thing that first created phazon will be the final boss. My guess is that it will be something supernatural/godly like Gorea only (probably) more powerfull and more meaningful. When I say meaningful I mean it will be creating phazon for a reason, either by it's own will or as it was designed to do. I wouldn't be surprised if the final boss is or was created by a twisted chozo.

I somehow find it very unlikely that DS will be the final boss, I also doubt that DS will regain it's power and change back into MP. I would not be surprised if (as mentioned above) the fight against the final boss starts out as the final boss v.s. Samus and DS. Before or shortly after the cutscene ends DS gets killed, you get the power of the phazon suit back + the power of the final suit you collected (plus some variant of the hyper beam [as usual]).

Or DS might be one of the second last bosses and once you find a way to defeat it, so it can't just remolecularize itself somewhere else, you get a variant of the phazon suit back, most likely the final suit.

As for the space pirates I think they will be included in this game because they are the only people, I imagine, that you would be able to scan lore from. I don't think there will be any native inhabitants on the planet, so the space pirates would fill in that role. Actually I can't see many native enemies either so there might be a full blown war between the space pirates and the federation here (don't ask how that has any relation to the native creatures). But I don't think there will actually be a war because that might get rid of that "alone" feeling, I still think it would be cool. If the space pirates do appear they should play a part like they did, in MP 1 if not a bigger role.

Also the space pirates should act less intrigued by the effects of phazon and more desperate to regain all they have lost in the pursuit of this substance (after all they have seen just how much phazon can bolster their ranks). It would be nice to see some more fleshing out on the space pirates, so they aren't just some faceless  enemies whose sole purpose is to hurt people cliche, to find out the name of there race (it must be something other than space pirate, did one of their leaders just look at the sky one day and say, "We're going to to be called the space pirates even though we have no idea if there is life out there besides us.")

i think the "Space Pirates" are an organization of different races whose goal is to rule the Federation's territories and beyond.

stuff like Ridley and Kraid are members of the Space Pirates yet they are not like the Pirates present in the Prime games or even the ones in SM and Fusion (X clones but they were there)

something interesting i would like to see is more about Ridley's race. he can't be the only one of that race and the race can't be just "Ridley" same way the space pirates are not just space pirate race.
Quote from Metroid Prime:
Morphology: Space Pirate - Sentient aggressor species well-trained in weapon and melee combat. Space Pirates wield Galvanic Accelerator Cannons and forearm-mounted Scythes in combat. This species seeks to become the dominant force in the galaxy, and their technology may help them realize this goal. Ruthless and amoral, the Pirates care little for the cost of their ambition. Only the results matter, and they take these very seriously.

was surprised to see that it singles out the one mantis-like species there.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
meh i didn't remember that description :p

but species like Kraid and Ridley's should get more attention now since the Pirates had their moment in MP1.

*imagines fighting against 3 Ridleys at the same time*
lvl 28 Magic Leper
I can't imagine a planet would be able to sustain too many Kraids. And I don't think Ridley actually has a species, otherwise I'm quite sure they would be the dominant force in the galaxy what with plasma breath and all.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
well, the Kraid species wouldn't be very numerous. they are very big and usually big creatures exist in low numbers.

and seeing how Samus can pwn Ridley, i think they wouldn't dominate that easily... :p  and they could exist in low numbers too.
