Firstly, is your rom headered or unheadered?  The patch is for an unheadered rom.
where do i get that?, im new

Check the size of your original rom file.  How many Kilobytes is it?
its the wrong one, i looked, ends in 3, i need 2 right? 3073, i need 3072?

i got it, i just kept downloading files until i got the right size :D thank you though! i appreciate the help!
is it supposed to be Super Metroid (JU) [t1]? and when i play normally, i have inf ammo, and inf life
goddamn it, in one file i have infinite ammmo and health, and in the other its in japanese... i say both ruins the game, looks great tho, i cant wait to play...in japanese...lol
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
You need Super Metroid (JU) [!].

You can download SMILE, open it, click on Tools, and add / remove the header as needed, so don't worry about which one you get.
i figured that out, but its in Japanese...
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
If you have the JU version, then the game is in English, and it's only one or two bits of text that should be in Japanese.
So I was looking for yet another new SM hack to play, and realized that according to Metroid Construction's list, this was the last full hack on their list I hadn't played yet.

02:46, 57%

Overall I enjoyed this one thoroughly, and only a few things cropped up that I didn't like. (One of which was that stupid Ripper you have to freeze in order to get to the PBs. Opium, you weren't the only one who got frustrated with that.) Coming in a few years after this was released and after playing a good number of hacks now, I think some of the surprises didn't hit me as well as they might have if I played it soon after it came out, such as the Beam Pirates since I've seen those come up in a few other places by now.

I unintentionally did a little bit of sequence breaking by IBJing up to the back entrance to Draygon and the Screw Attack because I had forgotten about the PB room and the shaft I'd need Gravity to get up, which meant I came about Draygon and Kraid backward. Both of them gave me more trouble than they probably should have, Draygon especially since I never found Spazer or Plasma even though I've seen the hints others have left in this topic at this point. Funny enough, I didn't have much of an issue with Gold Torizo since I've gotten a pretty good strategy built up against him now thanks to all of the times I've faced him in other hacks.

In the end, a pretty solid hack and one I may come back to sooner than others. Few of the design choices as far as the rooms themselves gave me a lot of trouble, something I can say about only a few of the other hacks I've played up to this point. (THIS IS A GOOD THING!)
Yoshi is back
I beat, this a long time ago, If I can remember the time, I think was like....3:27 with 76% or something like that, The bosses were really hard....I hated spore spawn...and underwater grapple without gravity, tha was disgraceful.

What'd you say?
I never actually finished this hack. I have a negative feel about this hack. Not sure if it's because I get lost a lot or if I HATE the damn space pirates, but something puts me off about it. If I ever pick it up again, I doubt I'd actually finish it again. I believe I only ever got to the hell run.
I can kinda see where that would put you off, because the first part of that run gave me a ton of trouble the first time I got to it. I had to backup a few savestates and try it again because I was at the point where I could get to one of the refill areas but as soon as I started shooting the bugs is when I'd die, and I couldn't get faster than that from where I had saved. That part of the run felt like it had to be pixel perfect to me because of that issue I had.

Like I said though, perhaps after playing some of the newer hacks or ones that have used similar features to this one, things that would've bothered me before were simply small annoyances at this point. It was a pain to have to sit there and shoot each pirate a dozen+ times with whatever beam I needed, but at least they would be kind enough to not shoot me most of the time once I got a good spot to attack from.
Yoshi is back
YEah, I liked the part where you had to ICe beam, or something......I forget, but it was very fun at that point, probably becuase I like cheese
I run this here hotel of an evening
can someone link a working ips of this hack? i can't seem to find one that works. i found one but while the intro is gone ceres station is still there and you have literally no time to escape meaning insta-fail. according to smile it should work fine but yeah. lost my old copy and i'm currently wondering how i found it the first time
Here's mine:
I run this here hotel of an evening
awesome, thanks
Should I run the ROM with this ips patch: http://metroidconstruction.com/IPS/RevoEX%5BUH%5D.IPS
or should I run it with Acheron's (page-five) crashing-block fix: http://m2k2.taigaforum.com/attachment/CrIPkbm8xhf6rI%2BDChpGhD8Z83E

Or, else, should I run the ROM with both patches applied? Thanks.
The patch that I attached a couple posts up works fine.
But, what was the methodology of it? Is it the two patch files merged together, or what?

Where does it come from? :)
I got it back when then hack was new, but after a couple of fixes had been made.  It's not two patches merged together.  I believe I got it from this thread.
Okay. Still, I still feel some confusion up in the air. No changelog, Bloodsonic, oh why, why?!

Every patch file is of a different size. I was asking myself if Acheron's fix was already included in the linked-to-in-op ips file. Question

Still, a mirthful Christmas to all. ;)
Do not disturb. I am hacking!
Beat it, 2:14, 79%. Loved the save station puzzle. I figured it out on my own, amazingly. Good design, except for the minor perma-stuck points that were discussed earlier in this thread.
