What do you mean without grapple kill? It's very much possible to use grapple kill on him (I did). Just stand by the left electricity thing and grapple it as soon as draygon picks you up.

Could someone please tell me if I'm right or not??  I mean, I'm still at one of the most (probably) frustrating areas of the game.  Everyone here calls it "hell's run".  I need to know whether I'm right or not:  I suspect mockball is required.  I don't know how to pull it off while running but I can jump and morph into a ball without bouncing if not running.  Please let me know if it's required as I fear or not here.  Thank you.  ](*,)  :-)
Yo.
Nope. Mockball is not used at all in this hack whatsoever. One SM Expansion may be reached with Machball, but no Mockballing anywhere. At all. Whatsoever. Got it? Wink

Machball, Speedball,
tomato, to-mah-to,
potato, po-tah-to....

Just in case you don't know what Machballing is.
No one except you calls it machball.

In the original Super Metroid, Ridley, the fourth boss, had 18,000 hp.what are you complaining about? JK, I know that draygon's a son of a bitch without the grapple kill.
sorry, but if I make him easier, then he'll be a joke with plasma and x-ray/ too easy in normal play throughs.
any way, good luck beating him!

X-ray? How does that help in the fight?
Anyway, they made ridley weak to super missiles so you can kill him with just 30. And then ridley is still the meanest thing you'll see in ordinary SM low%. I believe the hp difference might be because you can use brute force to beat ridley and you also have the plasma beam, but on draygon you have to hit a weak spot. Now since you have made plasma beam available before the draygon fight (which I have realized now) it makes sense to beef up his hp by a lot, you can easily sweep away whatever it is he spits out and hit him from any direction. I didn't have plasma, and I don't have it now either.

Well I shouldn't be complaining, I decided to do this... it was just that after dieing a few times I decided to open up SMILE and see if he still had 6000 hp... 14000 omg o_O
But maybe charged wave/ice does decent damage? I guess I'm back for another round :P Should be able to make it without grapple kill...

Okay, thanks.  Hmm, is there a difference between mockball and machball/speedball??  If so what is the difference??

Regardless, the pics are about the farthest I can advance without dying.  Is there a speed trick I don't know about or should I just keep trying??

sleepingseaweed, your problem is solved. :)

no difference between machball and speedball. machball just sounds stupider.
here's to help your death. before you go into the long room, refill your health by the red things.
then in the long room, go missile crazy when you're near the damn geruda thingies. that should save you a whole energy tank.
Why oh why oh why did you make rinkas drop super missiles bloodsonic? I noticed just when I was finished with blasting mother brain's tank. So I would only have needed one tank... should I play through the game again?

Decided to grapple kill Draygon after all. First time I played I had actually entered his room from the top right corner oddly enough. And then when I entered the Torizo's room I thought it was going to be one hell of a fight, but for some reason he would only spit up balls, no energy waves. Until he released those little black thingies that is, but by then my remaining super missiles could destroy him. So long fight, but not exactly difficult. And now I am where I am...
Yo.
Posting from a DS, woot!

Exactly the point of my comparisons. Who else'd know what it was?

Not really. After all, it is opinion... Rolling Eyes

Difference b/w Mockball and Machball?

Mockball is done without Speed Booster being activated. Machball is. Does that clear things up?
What? That's ALL wrong. Mock/machball is without speed booster. Speedball is with speedbooster. Don't give false information.
I always thought that MACHball was just another way of spelling MOCKball, but they were both the same move.    Speedball is just a mock/machball using speed booster.

Mock, moch, and machball are all pretty interchangeable; m2k2 seems to favor mockball.

so do i
Well I can see how he mixed up machball and speedball.  Mach, as in mach speed, would make sense as a substitute for speedball.
Yo.

Thank you, FirePhoenix. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not confused, I haven't mixed anything up, and I haven't given false information. I apologize for the post string of confusion I may have caused, though.

You see, I do use the term Mockball to describe the technique the player can utilize to cross several pit blocks in Morph Ball without activating Speed Booster. However, instead of using the term Speedball to describe using the technique above while Speed Booster IS activated, I say Machball instead (which I subsequently pronounce as Mack-Ball, so people I'm talking to don't get confused.) I believe the term "Mach" is an adequate implication of great velocity, so I use that instead. It sounds much better than "Speedball" to me, but if that is not what M2K2 wants to hear, I will use the term "Speedball" from now on in order to reduce possible befuddlement.

As in my first post on the subject: You don't need Mockball at all. You need Speedball ("Machball") to reach one Super Missile Expansion, but that's about it.

Okay, back to the helping with Revolution EX, guys!
Managed to beat this now... 16% because of those super missiles -_-
Clear time 1:43
Real time: much more

I once saw the word speedball in a dictionary, where it was described as a mix of heroin and cocaine...

good job! you beat something I...
never mind. but still, excellent work! and what do you mean, 'because of those super missiles -_-'?
anyway, added to the elites!

What I mean is 15% is possible because the rinkas can drop missiles and super missiles, so I wouldn't have needed to pick up another tank. I had 10, remember? The only reason to get the extra missiles is to use on mother brain so he/she/it enters the next phase. If you use the zebetite glitch (available thanks to forced ice beam) you need either 10 missiles and super missiles, or 5 missiles and 15 super (not possible in this hack). But if you can restock on the rinkas, you only need the missiles required to get there.

Draygon would have been reeeally bad without grapple kill I must admit. Mother brain on the other hand is easier than on normal low% thanks to wave/ice (though the damn thing still had me up all night). And I should thank you for removing the #1 obstacle - Ridley.

I enjoyed doing this after all, but not so much that I want to do it all over again just to get 15%.

Oh, and I've come across a minor level design error. When you enter the room in tourian that has some baby metroids and a save station, there are some (two I think) solid blocks in the air to the left of the top-right door (the one you enter from). Very minor but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere and they're still there...

I knew about the invisible blocks..
I just always forget to fix them. I'll get around to it.some day..

I will make rinkas drop stuff in every hack I make that includes them so you don't need extra missile packs to beat the game.
SM had the orange and green rinkas or it was Zero mission? D:
ZM has the green and orange rinkas, SM only has orange ones.
Meh, the green ones were great to refill before MB, even though MB is piece of cake.

Is there any way to "clone" the rinkas and make a green one that drops items, and the rest of the oranges just drop Energy or nothing at all?, it would make a MB brain fight more challenging with low items xd
Yeah, cloning of enemies is possible, but you'd have to find free space to give it a different pointer for drops than normal rinkas. Either that or give it the same pointer as another enemy with the same drops as what you want.
