Loved this hack, absolutely loved it. The refrences to other metroid games were awesome, and it was a nice change of pace since it was a little more action oriented. Other than the parts that left the player confused as to where to go next, this hack was a nice short romp through zebes.

Well, after taking a break from this hack, I'm back at it.  I notice three spots (found the second in SMILE as the maker of this hack has said he doesn't mind folks doing that) that has those red energy refilling enemies and the room after the third red energy refilling enemies you battle a boss character.  Nice touch.  And I'm out of missiles for this battle so I'll have to rely on charged shots.  So, I'm wondering how many charged shots it takes total.  You don't have to give me that spoiler if you don't want though.  I'm sure I can beat him....  Oh, and savestates are my friend here, no offense.  grin new
15 charged shots and ridley's dead.

I'm not sure what reameohs are but with your comment, it didn't sound like you'd mind my changing a value of the red energy refilling enemies just before Ridley.  I didn't change the big energy drop value but I definately changed the missile drop value.  The missile value has been changed to the same value  as the big energy, then I went back to the Linux side of my computer with the save to try it and it works fine.  grin new  grin new

I'm wondering why the missile drop value is originally at FF and not at the same drop value as big energy.... ??  :-k

Well, this solves my pre-boss missile problem and thanks for the info. about how many charged shots it takes for Ridley, by the way.  8-)
Yo.

Just amazing. I could see how some of the rooms resembled before, but some of them were completely changed and unless I really stared on some of them, could I notice what it used to be. Also funny how great areas seemed to flow together.....anyways. I noticed a couple of graphics errors during my runthrough if you want to fix them.

1. Top left corner of Maridia(?) room with octo's; where you have to acquire SB speed to horizontal shinespark to draygon's room, background is garbled.

2. Bottom of one Maridia room, where a Plasma Pirate(?) through an invisible wall is.... transition to next room on the right (without door) upon entering a door closes behind and same if traveling left from this entered room.

3. Seems to be a Speed Booster error in some areas sometimes. Such as when used in Hells Run the error causes the player to be hurt while Speed Boosting. You can tell of the error because your echoes don't catch up for a couple seconds.

If I find any other minor issues, Ill post them here. Again, great hack, love the mini-metroids you used. Haven't seen anything else like it anywhere.

I'm still playing this, taking my time obviously....  I notice there's a sound every time I attack this enemy and I can't return to the save point below becaouse of the gray door.  Anyway, the thing I find odd is the little music associated with that enemy.  I'm not stuck or anything right now though.  Judging by this enemy, I can probably guess which boss is next, huh??  The area below where you have to speed boost up is a bit hard but doable.  :-)

wow. I don't even remember that door being there.
I think I could change the enemies sound without changing the music..

You don't have to change the enemy's sound or music, I actually like it.

Briefly off subject and possibly would be better personal messaged: Perhaps for your avatar you could have a red sonic the hedgehog.  I think that would fit with your username.  Just a suggestion....  :-)
actually, I kinda liked the passing train noise the ghost made too.. laugh new
also off topic: I got the name something much stranger than just a red colored sonic

I've come across a room that if I go where I go in the picture, it freezes the game, where the controls stop working and resetting is the only option.  Below are bombable blocks that leads to a statue that disintegrates where you can pick up a missile pack.  I hope I'm not supposed to go here and I hope it's not an area that's eventually if not immediately required.  It's not supposed to be a path that's supposed to lead anywhere, is it??

Generally if I have a problem with a hack I read through the thread for an answer. :|

I guess it's kind of a big thread. I posted a working patch somewhere in it.

Page 6 of this thread, to be exact, just found and downloaded it and shall apply the patch, then I'll check that area out and see what's in store for me.  Also, you mentioned where the X-ray is, which I can come back for sometime later.  Thanks.  :-)
I'm pretty damn sure that I fixed that problem and updated the first post..
I must be ips blessed or something, i never had that crashing problem and i downloaded the first thing =/

the only problem i had is getting to the baby metroid without EVERYTHING i need to keep going... and i got stuck xd

You might've but if you did, I must've downloaded the revolution .ips patch after the bug fixes but before you got around to this problem.  Acheron86's bugfix patch solved it though in either case.

Hmm, I have a new problem: The X-Ray is taunting me unmercifully.  I bombed the whole room but couldn't get to it.  The one item that could help me find the right path to it is right there but I couldn't find the way to it.

I also looked throughout the thread but no one has had this problem before.  Thanks.

(edit) I left the room and came back, discovered timing is everything.

i did a mock/speed ball to get that, don't ask me how, i got lucky and almost got stuck xd

I just managed to get there.  grin new From just outside of the room, I held the run button and jumped.  Don't worry, I won't ask about how you mock/speed balled to get it.  That technique isn't my specialty anyway....  Now, returning from that room should be interesting, I have two full energy tanks left so that should give me enough margin for error for the return trip.

(Edit)
I think it says "NEW" for editted posts, anyway....

Anyway, I'd post again but no one posted here after I did.  On to the reason for this edit:  After I got X-ray, I used the teleport save to get to and battle Kraid and then Draygon and then eventually found screw attack and then found my way back to the ship.  I haven't yet battled Botwoon and I haven't yet gotten space jump or plasma beam.  I finally have spazer though....  Which brings me to the screenshot of the teleport/save, I can't seem to use it anymore.  Is this supposed to happen??  Am I supposed to get back to that part of the game the way I got out of it??  Thanks for any help.

Nevermind, I figured it out.

I realize this is double posting but this thread, I think, has gotten too far down the list for anyone to notice the "NEW" after editting the post.  Anyway, on to my interesting problem:

I went to tourian after collecting screw attack, space jump, plasma beam, and spazer.  I eventually get to the room I'm stuck in.  There are five metroids in this room.  You can bomb a narrow pssage to the bottom or powerbomb a bigger passage to the bottom.  I can't proceed through the gray door until these metroids are eliminated, but there's an infinate supply of the metroids here.

I read some pages ago to just keep attacking them until the gray door is passable, but I don't see how that could be.  Is there some trick to it or some strategy to it??  Am I missing something??
Yo.
You're missing the fact that you've got to kill plenty of them to open the grey door. I don't know the exact count, but I do know it was taken down plenty from 50. Maybe 25 of 'em? Try, try, and try some more, BiggestSchoz!

P.S. I think bumping was applicable here. Otherwise nobody'd see your query~ Wink
Oh, the Endless/Cruel Melee like room with metroids, that was fun, but at first i though "crap, i broke the hack", after like 10 minutes of metroid blasting the door opened.
it's not so cruel since I can't make the metroids redesign-fast Rolling Eyes
yeah, more like endless though, good thing they drop SM's like mad, next time you should hint that you have to kill X amount of metroids, is there any text like pallete for the background, so you could write "X amount of species stored, handle with caution", or something funny like the morph ball experiment in prime 1, you get my idea?
yeah, but i only recently learned how to actually edit each room's background..
oh no, don't take it as a demand, more like an idea ;D, as i said in other post long time ago, i have this stream of ideas on my mind, but no way to make them solid, or virtual in this case xd
