Quote from Derakon:
c) most SM hacks don't use save rooms at all, so I imagine most players get used to relying on savestates to serve a similar purpose. Thus they have no need to ever load a saved game unless they manage to get themselves stuck.

True, there are plenty of hacks without save stations because creating save stations in the first place is not one of the easier things for a hack creator to figure out. But for one of the ones that did, you're complaining about it? Razz Of course, that puzzle is the only puzzle I have ever seen that gives new meaning to the phrase, "Sleep on it."

Quote from Derakon:
* Incidentally, somewhere near the teleporter, the music shut off entirely for several rooms. That was nice. Could we do that again for a larger area?

And here you were just starting to get used to Red Brinstar... aiwebs_008
I'm not complaining about the existence of save rooms. I'm complaining about them being used for something that they aren't meant for, with the assumption that players will use something they've been trained to not rely on.

Really, though, your clue that the teleporter was too hard a puzzle is simply the fact that that's what a good half the questions in this thread were about. Granted it doesn't help that it was "guarded" by a glitched block for a while, but even without that this puzzle by far was the most "difficult" (read: nonintuitive) in the game.

Note the bump, and apologies for double-posting, but my last post was three months ago.

I was replaying this just for kicks, and I noticed that this door is less than substantial:

Edit: and I just discovered that the Grapple Beam defrosts enemies. Interesting.
Yeah, the hack is covered in bugs. I was a lazy fuck. Good job finding that one though, that's a first.
Yo.

FACEDOOR
For when the going gets a little bit TOO stupid.
I see how it is.

Just recently completed a video playthrough of this hack and I just say that I love it!

2:50, 64%

The only things that I didn't like are the lack of variety in the level design, lack of a map, and the tedious backtracking.
Phazon Vasteel Autobot
Finally, i beat this game

Time 2:37, 77%

Honestly, it was damn hard without the map, i feel like a rat in a maze.

What'd you say?
I can't seem to figure out where to go from here, I've played this hack a few times and always stopped here:

Items:
2 e-tanks
20 missiles
morph ball
bombs
grapple
spring ball

The only two places I can think of are:
-top right door of landing site - leads me to a green door
-tall underwater metroid room - I can't get to the top

Can someone lead me in the right direction please?
Halfway up the tall metroid room is a door on the left side, which contains a beam upgrade. That's your next item.

You can also do a short-charge to shinespark to the top of the metroid room, which can let you get early powerbombs, but it requires navigating a rather nasty room (filled with hard-to-dodge pirates). Still, the short-charge technique is worth remembering since I find it easier to pull off than the "recommended" method (which involves freezing the ripper and then jumping onto it).

I've done great so far...its really fun, but are we really supposed to do the hells run with 3 E-tanks?
That sounds right, yeah. It's a bit tight, but it's doable once you know how the rooms are set up.
The wandering Space Dragon
Yeah, I got through to ridley....120 damage on his tail!?!?!
How the heck am I supposed to fight THAT...
Ridley's health is low in this hack.  You actually have a chance although at first it seems impossible.
Just started playing. Are you really supposed to beat Ridley with 3 e-tanks? Or did I miss something?
Read the post right above your own.
Whoops! Sorry about that. I should really start reading posts.  Embarassed
Lawl I'm still a elite with a crappy 5 hour time and 79% completion :<
Wicked hack dude.  I personally loved the atmosphere, like many have said before me you have a gift for level design. I also loved the fact that 1 missile upgrade gave you like 10 missiles, yet missiles were kind of useless except when fighting metroids but it was a cool thing to see nonetheless. I LOVED the teleporter, it was pure brilliance.  Damned good and fun hack, I would like to see more from you in the future so stop putting yourself down.

first post btw hai guyz.

So I've killed
Draygon and got Screw Attack.
Now what?

Here are my stats:

7 E-Tanks
120 Missiles
25 Super Missiles
25 PBs
Grapple
X-Ray
Varia
Gravity
Charge Beam
Ice Beam
Wave Beam
Screw Attack
If I recall correctly, you should be able to finish the game now; there's a door shortly after the boss you killed that leads to Tourian. Or you can explore further for a few optional upgrades.
Hey guys. I've got Power Bombs, charge beam, spring ball, wave beam, three tanks, missiles, and I just killed Phantoon before any other boss and am totally stuck... :/
i really loved this hack! draygon was a alittle of a monster in this one.
this hack inspired me because of the space pirates! a change of things.
...man I played this hack for a few hours... searched everything, but I'm stuck... I'm still at the beginning, somehow...

I'm back at the landing site now, and my items are:

75 Missiles
5 Powerbombs
2 E-Tanks

Morph Ball
Spring Ball
Bombs
Power Bombs
Speed Booster
Charge Beam
Wave Beam
X-Ray Scope
and Phantoon is dead

I read in the thread that I need Ice Beam, but I can't even imagine where I should go when I have Ice-Beam =(

spoilers / hints please were to go...
Do you have super missiles ?>?
