A ceiling (the top) is the opposite of a floor (the ground).

Yes. Instead of using save states, use that save room. Then reset and load the file.
thx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grin new

back on topic anyways, i don't remember needing to shinespark at the escape sequence D:, if you could post a screenshot of it (i have a really baaaad memory) i could help you out

If my beta-tester's memory serves me right, you had to shinespark twice in one room of the escape. There may be other locations in the escape where shinespark may have been possible, but not required.

Bloodsonic is a pretty crafty guy, no?
Yeah, but no hint whatsoever on what to do on that room didn't help out... imagine he released the hack, and didn't tell how to do that...

I liked that part, very "outside-the-box" thinking. And you have to figure a hack with no save points wouldn't just throw one in a hidden room for no good reason.

lol archone u cad
That part was incredibly stupid IMO. There's a point where something isn't "out of the box" anymore and just ridiculous.

And that is not the only save point in the game. I can think of two others from the top of my head, both before the aforementinoed save point. They might have been fake though....

Yo.
Whaaaaaaat?!? This hack had savepoints all over the place. What are you smoking, Acheron? :|

@ Bolognab: Yes, there were plenty of savepoints in the game, but only one was a teleport. BS intended for the player to make use of them, hence the teleporting one.
There's 9 save points

@Bolognab: Ridiculous...would be the difficulty of precision.
Hey, hey, that has any relevance here. A "hard" trick is more feasible than an obscure save station with no hint whatsoever that you have to use it.

I bet you've never even played my hack, so you have no right to judge anyway. And it's called Precision, if you haven't noticed. And it's about the same difficulty as Cliffhanger, so are you calling Cliffhanger's difficulty ridiculous?

Maybe this sounds harsh...oh well.

Sorry. I was harsh.I've been working on graphics most of today. it's hard not to be in a bad mood after failing half of a day.
but, 1. I did called it precision
2. I did play your hack.till I got angry at the difficulty.
3. I played some of cliffhanger's easy version, so I can't really compare it to precision.
4.retarded save point doesn't require save states to get past.
Now let's get back on topic, before my release thread gets locked. Rolling Eyes

Hey, hey, hey, lighten up, you two. Don't make me copy the song here (which I'm sure is considered light, fun-poking mini-modding by Arcaine by now.) laugh new Ok, serious face. stern

Blood, I'm sure the save station wasn't too bad a puzzle in your mind, but does your audience agree? Maybe, maybe not. And like Bolognab said, you can't compare the two easily. Don't poke fun at his hack just cuz' he hated one puzzle.

Bolognab, no matter whether or not he's played your hack, you shouldn't jump to conclusions. It isn't right, and is indeed harsh. And while I agree he shouldn't have started it, you shouldn't continue it, either.

Geez... No hack wars, ok? Let's try to be a nice community, where everyone can be happy, alright?

I have beat it again.

Clear time: 1:01 (beat it all in one day, no break)
Item Percent: 40%

This time, I have recorded with smv.

You will need Snes9x 1.43 improvement 12 (I used reset function) to play this.

Enjoy!

Note: If something goes wrong while playing, I suggest you to redownload a new patch and then try again.

Maybe I'll play that next. Actually, I did play part of it but I haven't finish it yet.

Even if there's a hack war, what do we get for being a first place anyway?

:|, guys, just :|

(For the record I do think the ORIGINAL version of Precision is MUCH harder than the original version of Cliffhanger. I can beat Cliffhanger without save states. But let's leave it at that, take it to PMs otherwise.)
its me again^^

i need help here, can somebody tell me whar to do!?

the right shows which items i already got, maybe someone can tell me where Spazer or Plasma is? Embarassed thx!

Yo.
Ummm... Did you reach that room from Tourian? If you did, then that's a secret debug room BS never removed from the game. You'll have to break back out of it by yourself and then go fight Mother Brain.

That is the fake tourian entrance, itachi_kun.
look around lower norfair again. a door should be opened somewhere. (if you've seen the broken metroid container.)
Yo.
Um, dude, I haven't checked to see if you've covered it up or not. I'm merely misinformed. Thanks for calling it a lie. :(

Bloodsonic: 2008-10-07 03:21:46 pm
but that ISN'T the debug room.
EDIT: sorry IK, plasma is in the ice area. there's a tall room that you can only climb with space jump.
go back there if you want it.
spazer is in a hole in the wall in the room to the left of the save room tha goes to the first s. missile pack

*runs for cover fleeing from ZephyrZx*

I have some good news and some bad news:

The good news is I finally beat the game and survived the escape sequence.  :-)

The bad news is the animals didn't survive to see the credits roll.  :(

Probably the thing I disliked the most about this hack was Kraid, but then again I've never liked Kraid in the first place, whether it's original Super Metroid or not....  I also don't really like areas where timing is everything when you have to shinespark but fortunately there aren't many areas here like that.  Also, thank you for not making mockball and its faster brother required to beat this.

The things I like about this is the level design, the teleport save point which I hope we'll see more of, the pirates, and I especially like the Metroid II references, among other things.  This took me less time than my first Metroid II playthrough.  Very Happy

oh lol. I'm glad someone got so much out of my hack  laugh new (added to the elites)
You shall see beam pirates again! however I'm planning on them being better than before... Twisted Evil
and there will be another save-teleport. maybe.
*receives a glare from bolognab*
that will be more obvious.

where were there metroid 2 references? :-s
and lol, epic avatar. extra_smug

EDIT: yay smileys
Blood, now that i re-played M2, i see the M2 reference xd, and i loved it, does the mini Metroid have any special attributes? or it just follows you around bumping with every wall as a good Metroid should?

Also, any screens or something about your new hack, IF you're making one? D: I would love to beta test it btw : x

Better beam pirates....  Cool  grin new  And possibly another save/teleport  grin new

I'm a bit surprised you don't know what the Metroid II references are.  Actually, I see two right now.  One is a baby metroid that follows you while you go where you need to go, while the baby metroid eliminates obstacles in your way that you can't.  Another reference is that one room with the chutes or whatever you call them.  They're the enemies that go straight up and then go back down back and forth as a leaf or sheet of paper when you get near them.  Metroid II has rooms like that.

Bloodsonic, if you haven't yet played Metroid II then I'd say you better get to playing it.  It's a fun Game Boy game!!  Very Happy

Just one more question:  What is your time and percent????  :-k Okay, okay, you don't have to tell us what your percent is if you don't want....  :P
