Bloodsonic: the game crash shown in MoogleEmperor's screen shot is being caused by an X-Ray Fool air tile using a BTS of 12.

Where is Phantoon?

After you get High Jump, head towards the Ice Beam room, but climb up the shaft instead of going past the green gate. At the top of that room is another hall you can use to get a shinespark; take it back into the water-filled corridor you came from, and boost up through the ceiling. After that, the path should be obvious.

Ah I just pbed there and assumed it would be blocked.. didn't think it was shaft.

What of this? To the left of Hi Jumps

I'm a bit lost, but I made myself lost looking for more etanks. I'm sure what I'm suppose to do is the heat run after sporespawn?
I somehow ended up in a snowy place, killed phantoon, and made it up some water shaft getting a jump before the door transition and evading enemies on the way up (was actually quite fun).

I'm currently trying to hbj across this -

DMantra, you are such a goofy guy. I just ran through that same room with about every item in the book, wouldn't have dared tried without. You'll be hbjing a looong way through there, but your reward is
X-Ray
should you survive the trip there and back.

Anyway I've beat all four main bosses and I know where the entrance to Tourian is, but I don't have Spazer, Plasma, or Space Jump. I saw a place I bet has one or both beams, but I need SJ first (nice idea for making SJ required by the way), and I don't know where it is. I didn't get any items for Kraid, just a lousy save station, so... any ideas?
Spazer is located near Super Missiles, to the left a few rooms.  After the save station there, go through the left door and there's a hidden hole in the left wall. Follow this path until you find a room with acid, a Plasma Pirate, and two of the muncher things that grab you.  There's a fake ceiling on the left side.  Up through there is Spazer.

You'll need to find and defeat Botwoon.  Go to the underwater room near Draygon and Kraid that had the infinitely spawning Metroids.  Up and to the left is the ceiling door.  There's a path in the quicksand below the door that leads to him.
2:08, 38%.  I really liked a lot of the details in this hack, the changed morphball, the inventory screen (so handy for switching against pirates) and although we had already seen a spoiler for the little metroid, it was still awesome.  Aside from the grapple beam and springball problems (which made me play through without spingball) this was very solid.  The only thing I didn't like was the teleporter, I think there should be a clue to what it does.  One thing in particular that I liked was how well extra items were hidden.  I beat the game with a fairly low percentage and without spazer or plasma.  The escape sequence was pretty close for me, 8 seconds to spare, but a lot of that time was bomb jumping up shafts.

Bah I'm in the same situation FP was in, beat Phantoon and cannot figure out where to go, sonic said to go back to the previous room and teleport at a secret tunnel at the top of the room, but that is the x-ray block thing acheron said that freezes the game. O.o

This must be the wrong spot?

I have x-ray now and I think I am stuck o.o

namespoofer: yes, you need to go to the crashing block. Here is a working patch.

Aggravation saver.

So wait, sonic messed this block thing up when he fixed other stuff? I'm assuming it worked in the other patches that had other problems.

That is correct. I believe he changed the tile to be a bit more obvious, and in so doing accidently made it game-crashing.

Ah, of course.. Now tell me something else:

What the fuck is a godam e-tank and save station going to do for me? Did you also change blocks to allow escape from dachora area? I don't remember an opening being there.

Hehe... You should try saving and reloading.

So was that intented? I just failed the possibly easiest puzzle in this dam hack?
Man.. So confused.
Victoly!
2:49, 55%.

Good stuff. Though it had a rough feel, much of that was more about insufficient beta testing than anything else. Most of the ideas were plenty good.
Spoilery comments:
The plusses:
- Despite many rooms being recognizable, they were stitched together in a fairly different way, so it kept the proper exploratory feel.
- Some pretty clever tricks. The "teleporter" was pretty creative, but I don't see how it could've properly hinted at what to do at that point.
- The mini-metroids were awesome.
- Draygon and Gold Torizo were reasonably tough. I actually had to try at MB this time... probably because I never got Spazer or Plasma. =P Early Ridley was quite unexpected as well.
- Definite thumbs up for making the scene to the left of the landing site a central hub of sorts. More hacks need shortcuts like this.
- New palettes.
- Surprisingly early Speed Booster. And a no-damage shinespark! Love it. It's probably my favorite upgrade in the game.
- Metroids in the escape, and you have no means of killing them... a good way to make them actually feel threatening. That high pitched squeal they made in that one scene was probably a bug, but it actually sounded pretty good.
- It got better as it went on. Something every game should do.
And the minuses:
- Sometimes the sequence wasn't clear. Specifically sometimes you could go a good bit into an area without the item needed to do anything meaningful there. I'm thinking specifically of being able to get near Phantoon's area without Supers.
- The tilesets were a bit overused. It's short enough to not matter too much, and they were used well, but more variety is nice.
- There are a few items or tunnels without enough or any hints to their locations.
- Spore Spawn's new palette doesn't look too great. The blue contrasts too much with the red. The rest of the new palettes were fine though.
- Numerous simple mistakes. No big deal, just means it needed more polishing.

This hack had some good ideas, and I could clearly see that you were getting better as it went on. Hope to see more from you.  :-)
I'm getting some serious errors in my patch.  the Brinstar-ish area at the beginning works fine, but after I go through a downward door and down this long shaft, I get terrible tiling errors.  The room to the right is littered with partial map stations, and the pirates inside are unkillable.  It's not a header problem, so I'm confused as to what the problem is.

This is easily one of the best hacks I've ever played. If it weren't for a few bugs and slope issues, this would be a solid 10/10.
The level design was lush! You have a natural talent for it. Thanks for making this hack.
can someone please tell me how it is humanly possible to freeze that ripper in the water/grapple/metroid room that leads to PBs?  I've tried it for almost three hours, using  slowdown and any other possible manner of aid.  I can freeze the ripper, then quickly grapple up the wall, but i cant jump from the wall high enough to actually land on the ripper.  help!
Yo.
Go back to snowy ruins... As Bloodsonic said, there was a room you needed Gravity to climb, no?

@ Opium: That Ripper sequence does suck. I needed Blood to do it for me, and I was the beta tester. But apparently, everyone else was able to do it. Keep on trying!
what is this i don't even...

I happened to find some speedbooster blocks in a wall in Tourian and busted through to here.  Was this your debug room or something? :D

Yo.
Yes, yes, yes it is. Looks like BS forgot to block it off (or, he intentionally left it unfinished. I'll have to ask him.) I don't know if he's going to finish it or not (but, since the hack's been released, I'm banking on not.) Congrats, FirePhoenix0!

This text is here so you don't have to scroll, hopefully. Oh, darn it.

Uh. I did this my first try? And no one else is complaining. I can only think you're doing it wrong. Freeze ripper, quickly grapple your way to the topmost grapple point, walljump away, and you'll barely land on him. It requires speed, but... I found it easier than mockballing.

If you really just can't do it I bet someone can give you a savestate past it or something.

Beat it, 72%, 3:02 (because I used the laziest Kraid strategy ever).

My thoughts...
What I liked:
-Aesthetic feel of the areas. Each area had a distinct feel to it. You have a gift for area design.
-Challenge was surprisingly appropriate. Health was valuable but not scarce. Survival was not something you could be lazy or reckless about, nor was it punishingly cruel.
-Not requiring mockball/speedball for game completion makes me happy. Same for short charge, IBJ, etc.
-Boss fights were clever. It wasn't the same old thing when I fought most bosses. Phantoon, maybe, but Phantoon sucks no matter how you set him up.
-Use of new graphics. There is a good way and bad way to use them. You did it right.
-The M2 moments. What a cool idea, I wish I'd thought of that.
-I noticed almost zero tiling errors, bravo!
-The central hub is a great idea.

What I think could have been better:
-Beta test beta test beta test beta test. You needed to have more testing, with more players, for a longer time. There is no such thing as too much testing, only too little.
-Level design was sporadic. Sometimes you'd do a room in a really cool and creative way, and sometimes you'd just change the tileset of a room from Super Metroid. We were calling this hack a "three-quarters hack" because of this.
-Some hidden paths were unreasonably hard to find. You did fix this in later patches, though.
-The "crystal cave" tileset has a boring red background. Not that you're there very long, but...
-A bit too much backtracking. I'm thinking of the back-and-forth for grapple, ice beam, PBs, high jump.

That's the full of it. Note that almost every single one of my criticisms would have been rendered a non-issue if you had tested and taken in feedback from players. Just the same, I really, really, really want to see more from you. I'm tempted to bribe you to ensure you keep hacking. :P
Yay! school's over! (and so many elites to add! grin new)
I'm very glad to get feedback from others to know what to do better for my next hack.
also, @acheron 86, thanks for the fix. I was just about to fix it,(and still will fix it.) but it's good to know that someone fix other's problems while I'm not there. yeah, I know It should never have been a problem in the first place Rolling Eyes.(beta test beta test beta test beta test)
btw you won't need to bribe me to continue hacking. I find it pretty damn fun since I've got nothing better to do/ play. extra_smug
Yo.
Yes, Blood. Next time, I shouldn't be your ONLY beta-tester. More like, I'm one of them. Get tons of people to beta your hack, and it will be flawless. (Well, not tons, because then everybody will have played it already.)

@ Acheron: Check your PMs. :)

Found Kraid, Botwoon, where's Draygon?

What's reward for Kraid??
