I've already encountered a few physics glitches. I've got a feeling that Other M will be ripe with secret world opportunities.

Ohhhh please, pleasepleaseplease.

6:26 74%, i want retro studios back :(

edit: whoops that 5 is supposed to be a 6 lol fixed
My final time was 8:02 with 62%. Going to be going back for 100% in a little bit.

Personally, I enjoyed the game a great deal for what they were trying to do with it. Yes, it's not Prime or Super, but were any of us expecting it to be after all of the previews we got? The action was great, the story was decent (better than I expected, honestly), and overall the experience still felt enough like Metroid for me.
100%, 12:59:21. Not sure how much of that was leaving the game on while doing other things or whether the timer counts time spent paused though, lol.
That's why I spent most of my on Home Menu since it doesn't add to time. Since I need to leave the game most of the time.

6% 4:21:14

edit: just noticed I posted my 100% time 4 hours ago too. guess the game counts deaths against your time. :/ I died a LOT so this makes my time absolutely horrible.
That a hard run? If so, I thought there were no pickups there.

No, it was on Normal.

Also I think the low% is 2%. There's an unskippable energy tank and an unskippable missile tank.

edit: okay. I started a new file. Skipped the cutscene, completed training, skipped the next two cutscenes, went to the gunship and saved. This took ~5 minutes in realtime, but the ingame timer gave me 00:12:17 for my time. Then I erased the file and did the same thing, except I let the cutscenes play out. This took ~12 minutes in realtime, and got a time of 00:12:23. So it would appear that skipped cutscenes DO count on the timer. Which is pretty shitty. :/
Wait...skippable or un-skippable, cutscenes adding to the timer is retarded.  Why time something that is not negotiable in length?
One shall stand, one shall ball.

Are you serious? so that means it's going to be hard to do a sub 4-hours then since the cutscene counts toward the timer.
Currently A Speedrun Noob
Just subtract the cutscene time and that is how much time you took.

sub-4 should be easy since my time in hard is near that. now, low-3 will be a bitch because of that limitation. and i thought i was seeing bad when i noticed that...

looks like manual timing will actually need to be used to determine our real best times. hard mode needed it anyway since the game doesn't give you a final time there.
if someone takes the time to time all the cutscenes for us to substract that amount from the total, it would be much easier. when i watched the cutscenes with the play all option in theater mode, i think it took more than 2 hours.
I think that's because there's some in-game gameplay and there's boss fights too. I bet those part doesn't count as cutscene that's why it theater mode is more than 2 hours.

27%, ~7:30, Normal.

Plotline was much better than I thought.
Cutscenes are at least skippable on hard mode, just hit the - button ^_^
Though I don't think you can skip the initial cutscene, the first one I skipped was between getting off the ship and scanning the logo on the GF ship ^_^

you can skip every cutscene in both difficulties in any save slot.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
I've been able to skip every scene so far, except for a brief bit of Adam talking (suprise suprise).

12:34 100% normal.

In sector 1 on hard mode... dunno how far I'll go before giving up out of frustration. I'm guessing the hot rooms in sector 2 will do it. I'll see though.
ANKOKU
Hot rooms are Sector 3. And you just have to Focus before your life gets to a certain point.
Hard mode(so 0%), 6:20:47 at the last save point, so I'm guessing maybe 6:25ish ^_^
OK I ended the game with 100%, but do you have to go back to the file select screen to see your time?  If so, the time there says 13:12:08.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
11:18:06 100%

First time through.

i rage quited on hard in ridley's fight... all attacks are 1hit ko! -_-

prolly gonna go back and try to fight him on sunday
Yeah, he's tricky.  There are a couple things I did that seemed to help though.  If he's at mid range and not moving, it's sometimes better to just jump to be safe, as that tail swipe comes out very fast and can't be dodged with sense move very reliably.  The only other suggestion I can give is to forgo trying to hurt him while he's stunned before the first time he switches to black, and just charge your super missile and release just after he finishes.  You can prevent him from using any moves at all while invincible that way, and it's also the safest time to charge ^_^
