Are you doing a low% run or something?  In a normal run you shouldnt have to avoid ridley at all because he dies way way before you do if you just sit there and blast him repeatedly with charged plasma or missiles.

Charged Wave Beam does more damage than Missiles.

I'm aware of that.  Has nothing to do with the fact that Ridley dies way before you do, or my question as to whether or not he's doing a low% run.
Just keep spamming diagonal charge beam shots. If you have enough tanks it shouldn't be a problem.
thanks, I made him disappear(only for a little while extra_smug)
well, now the sa-x is giving me problems(first form). No question though.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
the SA-X fight is just run and gun. time your movement to be standing in front of her and shoot her with a fully charged shot with her on sight and still have enough time to jump and avoid the ice beam. don't screw attack her since you'll lose lots of health.
Yes, i've discovered the hard way how the sa-x's screw attack does damage.
And I'm really bad with timing jumps, i'm always a 1/2 second too late. Sad
One shall stand, one shall ball.
If you have trouble timing the jump try jumping right after you release the charge shot, s long as you're space jumping the only thing that can hit you is SA-X and you have plenty of time to do that.
okay i'll try that.
Also i'd like to know how to double bomb jump.
Sorry, but fusion is my first 2d metroid. Embarassed
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Double bomb jump doesn't really work in this one, even if you pull it off it doesn't accomplish anything.
ok thanks!

Essentially, you can't.

BioSpark does it in his latest run, but it's a TAS, not played on a console.

Accursed simultaneous posting, let alone a reply...  Evil or Very Mad

This is my old stratagy for beating the SA-X, worked every single time
Thanks, i'll try it.

Basically, you just can't give it a chance to shoot, and try really hard not to be in its jumping path after you shoot it.

He probably intended more to tell him than to tell you, as you said beam or missiles, as though they're both comparable options. A lot of people that have played metroids before seem to believe super missiles are better for bosses by default. If you take the Ridley battle from Super Metroid into consideration, super missiles shoot fast enough to do more damage per second than charged shots.

Here, though, the shots do damage per frame instead of per shot, so it's just massively stronger, and you do a little more damage if you shoot diagonally, because it stays in the hitbox longer.

Sorry i never replied, but i somehow didn't see it.
No, I'm not dowing a low% run, but it's my first run for fusion ever.
(Also, i don't mean to be picky but don't you have the wave beam at that point?)
Sorry about the barrage of questions but my brother is begging me to do this...
how do you shinspark cancel?
Otherwise, how do you extend the time your dash is charged?
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
You can't cancel a shinespark as far as I know.

To maintain a charge, you need to do a horizontal spark into a slope, making sure you keep hold of the run button and forward.

Once you hit the slope, Samus will continue running at full speed, allowing you to charge again.

Note that you're not really 'maintaining' the charge, but repeatedly charging.
thank you very much!
And i beat the game! extra_smug
but its nothing special time is so bad!

(you can also Diagonally spark), also, you've been playing too much Redesign

For future reference, double posting is against another policy. Please read the forum rules thread at your earliest convenience.

Also, have you collected many expansions yet? After you beat the game, you can check each map to see if you got all of each expansion. Some require some pretty tricky shinespark techniques.

I wasn't aware you could diagonally spark to renew your charge, as the angle would be wrong?  Unless you mean do it in general, as information for zx123...  Eh?

As for Redesign, I haven't played it in a while, actually, but I read my post again, and realised that I'd mentioned you have to run.  Razz

I've seen diagonal shinesparking to recharge in ZM, but it takes pixel precision I think. You seem to spark at more of a 30 degree angle I guess. I've never seen anyone use it diagonally to recharge in Fusion.
It can be done in the first big room of sector 4.
Are you ready for some underwear music?
What actually counts as a "big room"? A room bigger than one screen or so?
