EDIT#2: Okay, I need help with the secret message.  I know there's stuff on it on the site, but I can't get it.  I've gotten up to that part on that ledge where you shine charge against it twice.  I just can't get further than that.

Honestly there's not really any further advice that would help you other than what's on the site. It's one of the most difficult tricks in the entire series. If you can't do it on the GBA, I recommend trying it on an emulator using savestates to practice each part individually as much as you can. Then, once you think you think you can do it all in one go, try it on the GBA. It'll probably take a while, but practicing on emu saves a ton of time and frustration, as you won't have to go through the easy first part every single time you try it. If you're doing this, however, I'd suggest getting a PC controller, as playing with the keyboard is much different than using actual controller buttons, and when you move to the GBA, it'll feel completely different and screw you up for a while.

Alternately, if you just want to see the message itself, you can try the alternate secret message, which is far easier, or you can just keep resetting savestates on emu until you get it. But the feeling of accomplishment is great when you actually perform the trick, so keep trying, man.

To be honest, it is actually easier to shinespark less. Especially the 3rd slope that gets sparked into, it's much easier to skip doing it. Here's how I do it if anyone cares

Oh, yeah, I definitely don't do all the Shinesparks that are on the site, and I guess I could offer some actual advice:

When you get into the "main" room of the trick (the one before the last room where you do the final Shinespark), don't jump to the ledge on the right, Shinespark and preserve it (like is shown in the vid). Instead, do three Space Jumps to the ledge on the left, land, Shinespark, and preserve. I find this much faster, and it eliminates an entire Shinespark and the possible error.
I also don't bother laying the Power Bomb, as I think it takes too much effort than it's worth. If you hit something, just start again.

Oh, and don't celebrate once you reach the top of that room. After all you've done, that last Space Jump cancel + Shinespark can be difficult, as your fingers won't be used to the button combination required.

It's the room where you can enter by going through the bottom right door of the first shaft in ARC. There's a power bomb block which reveals a small hole in the bottom left corner but I don't know why it's supposed to be there.

If it's the room I think you're talking about, that's a shortcut so that you don't have to climb up.

I have been doing it on an emu. :/

Been there, done that.

If it's the room I'm thinking of, that's useless.  There's a normal bomb block in the upper-right hiding a Missile Tank.

Okay, well, now I'm having trouble with the little tiny slope right before the one before the one you power bomb.  I think it's just me trying to press too many buttons at the same time, but eh, anybody help?

Ah, yeah, that's the one. I think it's just there to trick you (especially before you have powerbombs.
Are you ready for some underwear music?

I know there's a missile tank there, I have found 100% of items without any help (videos, walkthroughs etc.).

It worked for me. When I destroyed it first time I thought: 'What the heck is this for?'. The programmers can really be cunning sometimes. Thanks to all who helped me with this.
Your pic didn't show up because you have to either use the attach feild at the bottom under "Additional Options...", or link to a website with the pic, such as ImageShack.

Ok, I'll fix that (in case somebody cares).
Is it possible to get the energy tank that I've marked at this point in the game?  I'm right before the SA-X.  I have a very bad feeling that I'll have to start over.

my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
you can come back through the way you came out. there's screw attack blocks there iirc.
Okay, got it.  I only looked in the immediate area where you fight Arachnus-X, not there.  Thanks.

Can't you go back the way where the eye door was?
No, you can't go back through the hatch on the observation deck.

I tried it out and seems you were right. I thought that there would've been a meaning for the room with the giant wire thingie.
This is more or less concerning Visual Boy Advance.

How do I get the sound to sync with the video after encoding to an AVI file? I throw whatever I can at it and it won't work. Does it have something to do with the version of it? I have the latest version of VBA.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
Which codec are you using to encode the AVI with, and what settings
I use full frames (uncompressed) because Windows Movie Maker can easily make the file much smaller.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
What player are you using to play it?
Windows Media Player. I want to get a 1% run on youtube so I don't want the sound to desync.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
How big is the AVI file, bigger than 4GB?
I haven't done anything long enough for the file to be so large.

Can you tell me straightforward how to get it to sync with the video?
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
You only need to have recorded a 15 minute long AVI for it to reach 4GB, and if it reaches that then you can expect lots of random crap to happen. I've never experienced a sound desync from VBA, so I'm thinking it's probably a broken video or player. Maybe you could upload a copy of your config file to see if I can reproduce it
latest version of vba with re-recording? latest version without still had sound desync on avi out iirc.
Any ideas to get the sound to sync? I'm not re-recording and I've tried re-records and the entire video desynced.
