To get the picture to show, just do what you've done, then when you go back to see the post, copy the link of the attachment, modify your post, insert img tags, and paste the shortcut in between the img tags. Also it's a good idea to put the img in spoilers too, so it doesn't take up a whole page, and you can turn it on/off.
I wonder why I didn't read this topic earlier. Looks VERY interesting. That water maze has to be the most attractive thing that wasn't made by Sadiztik Fish or Dman.
And you did create the post, then clicked on the link to download the pic, copied that link, then edited the post by pasting the link between the tags?
Oh well, that image thing is just getting annoying. Back to hacking.
EDIT: Alright, I got three rooms done today, I'm tired after:
Quote from tyjet66:
OMG I'm exhausted! In the past 4 hours I have moved 1,000 lbs. in bricks, 500 lbs. in sand, and about 1000 lbs. of dirt, we are building a patio and fire pit... Good news is, I get to do it again tomorrow.
I am very disappointed. I had to download that file to see it. and it was a .BMP. Nice room. looks nice.. I'd just suggest adding some new palettes in there to add some excitement. for veiwers...
By new palettes do you mean edit them or add new ones with TLP? Because I have tried and failed to do so many times. (And yes, I can find and edit the tiles in TLP.)
Yeah, if you watch the video (first one) I have done that with quite a few palettes so far.
I have also made a major decision:
Due to countless errors by his placement, I have decided to remove Kraid from my hack. His previous duty was to open a door for access to Norfair, he is now no longer required and almost every error I have had in the game is now gone.
That looks real nice. Room design is aesthetically pleasing, coloring is well done. I'm also liking the use of the title screen music.
When you say Kraid was removed, you don't mean removed from the game do you? Is he not still required to access tourian, or did you remove his death as a requirement to open norfair?
I removed him from the game, where ever I put him he seemed to screw up CRE tiles and PLMs for about 20 rooms in any direction. Since he is no longer in the game I am forced to remove the statue as well, I don't know as of yet how to prevent access to Tourain until after the "3" bosses, but I'll think of something soon.
Update: I have all the main items placed except: Screw Attack Space Jump X-ray
I have all the bosses placed except: Kraid (no longer in the game, sorry.) Botwoon Golden torizo Ridley Mother Brain
I also hope to be done with Maridia by Tuesday at the latest, wish me luck.
hmm. Your image didn't work because you need to copy the link of the attachment, not the site. WHen you go back into the thread, you see the attachment down the bottom. Just right click and go copy shortcut. That's what you need.
Also PM'd you an awesome (I think) idea for the statues.
I don't think hes actually using the title screen music in those rooms. Thats the song that plays when you test a room in smile if the music set on 'none/no change'.

The simple way to prevent access from Tourian is to give the last major boss an item that is needed to enter Tourian. For example, you could make it the space jump and then have Tourian access involve a tall shaft lined with spikes or with an overhang (to prevent walljump access).
Alternatively, you could put Tourian behind a boss-triggered metal door (like the door to the plasma beam in vanilla), though I'm not really very fond of those.
For the video: I'd suggest slightly decreasing the number of enemies. Combat in Super Metroid isn't generally very interesting, especially if the enemies are just for target practice, which they will be once you get three or four beams.

I could be wrong but wouldn't each prior boss have to require a special item to reach so that there's incentive to kill them all? It just seems like without the statue the game could either be SB'd to the point of practically going straight to tourian OR it would be made unbreakable which isn't a popular design.
Honestly, there are a lot of rooms with either very little or no enemies, some I showed have a few more than average though; so don't worry, combat isn't a huge part in this.
Could it not be set up so that there were physical barriers, such as walls, in the room before Tourian, and each boss killed removes one, like the earthquake things in Redesign? That way it'd also be a bit of a throwback to the original Metroid, with the statues.

The only problem is I have no clue how to do that.
Update: I hope to be done with Maridia by tomorrow night. I have finally placed the x-ray. Map for Maridia is almost finished. Tiled 4 rooms.

Did you get my PM before? I explained how that could be done.
