did you find this yourself?

No, I've been lurking here and scu for the last couple days. I read it somewhere, can't remember exactly though.

oh yea, and i realiazed it causes you damage, ALOT. in only 3 shots, it took out a e-tank..but anyway

Then it might not be best for a low % run, but an energy tank or two and thats nothing, especially if a place was found where it saves a lot of time.
read my other post, edited it using the rocket method, plus my wallcrawl. speed trick..told ya it will be useful ;p
lol i forgot to type this but you can rapid fire missiles...it's kinda hard though....especial if you have guardian chasing you and you tabing back and forth.
how do you do it? keep switching from power beam to missle?
Yeah. the timing of mashing the L button is quite important. I find it useless in this game though.
This got me thinking and I did some experimenting, I found that all of the following will make you jump (from highest jump to lowest jump):
1. Charged Magmaul*
2. Charged Missile*
3. Missile
4. Battlehammer

*Equal height, as far as I can tell

Accuracy is not guaranteed here, its rather difficult to fire the weapon and then look up to see how high you went. What I eventually decided worked best was to stand in a corner looking down and watch the marks on the wall go by as you jump (it will be hard to do on a plain looking wall). The best way to tell would probably be to have a friend in a multiplayer match watch to see how high you go when you fire the weapons, obviously I couldn't do this by myself.

Damage-wise, I found:
Missile-24
C. Missile-32
C. Magmaul-28
(I didn't check the battlehammer)

I haven't gotten the Volt Cannon yet, so somebody might want to test that.
found a new speed trick, if this has been discovered already, let me know:

in arcterra, drip moat, your supposed to ride the platform inorder to get to the end, but instead, you DONT. when your at the beginning, jump over the platform, and land on the small ledge on the side of the room. from there, just slowly walk or morph to the end, but be careful to avoid the wasps/green things. when your at the end, the platform that was at the beginning will "magically" reappear at the end of the room, so, when your there, jump to the front of the door, instead of the platform, if you land on it, you will ride to the beginning. anyway, funky little speed trick that saves you about a minute or something like that. since the platform rides sloowwly around the room.
Anywhere, everywhere
I just jump down below and boost through the acid, only about 50 energy loss. I think both ways are about the same speed but mine is easier.
Quote from Dr. Trence:
edit: rek, how did you push yourself up the wall? did you do it with the tube? but either way, the method i use in IV 2 might be faster, using the dbj method. not that im bragging or anything.. but you can skip the battle and head straight to the shock coil, but i didnt notice any tube in IV 2.

edit 2: i made a new speed trick, that i already mentioned, it takes place in sic transit, on the far left side, with the ledge and small stair case. Stand near at the top of the stair case, and use the rocket jump method, then go towards the edge of the left side wall, there you will be "stuck", known as my "wallcrawl". after this, just keep hitting with the stylus until you can jump, then land in the tunnel. then proceed to frost labyrinth, or where ever you're going.
It's in my Incubation Vault 01 and 03 video. Use two directions at once, diagnol, and you move up steep surfaces, since you're moving faster. Common FPS "glitch."

I don't get this Sic Transit "speed trick," I where exactly does this take place and how is it faster?

<edit> I knew about the Drip Most bypass, just didn't post it, seemed a tad obvious. There's if you get stuck on it, you can Morph Ball off the platform and through the acid like Rekameohs said.
you can boost on that small ledge, but you need to practically stick against the wall, i dont know. if anyone does a low% run, it might be best to use my idea, but the acid one might be easier.

liku: there is a orangy little hole at the end of sic transit, the hole has a tunnel leading to another room, it is on top of a small stair case thing, what im saying is that you can get inside of the hole, and proceed straight to the next room. and its faster because i think you need to use a elevator inorder to reach the door, thats in the tunnel. i can make a vid of it, its not really hard.

edit: then you discovered the trick. and yea, i noticed that you could bypass it when i first entered the room, but still, you take the credit. and for the sic transit vid, i think i will make it, im not really good at explaning things out (as you noticed)
Are you talking about the "hole" that Trace fights you from? Because going the normal way seems faster.
yes. but i cant remeber which way you're supposed to go to get to the door in the tunnel. i dont know

edit: no, my route i think is faster, you need to jump on those ledges, but using my method might save about 5 seconds.
You first go through the bottom, no need to go up there the first time, and by the time you need to go the door at the end of the hall, you come out of the first door and just jump out and to the left and head to that door, since you need the Judicator to open it.
oh wait, the first time you arrive on arcterra, you need to enter the door on the ledge? i thought the door in the hall way was regular. okay, i understand now. i've been doing all these speed tricks on my regular file, so i dont have a clue which door is regular and which one is not
Try some speed runs, you'll easily remember all the doors since there really aren't many special doors. The door to Frost Labrynth is a Judicator door.
well, once i get done by completing the game for the first time, i'll start a speed run...then another, then another. then another 1 million. but i have to beat it first before doing anything like that.
Oh, you haven't even beaten the game, alright.
yea, i got it about 4 days ago, so i havent beaten it yet. but once i do, im going to start my speed run. then keep lowering my time from there, im just so anxious to speed run it, but that would be noobish of me to do that while i havent even beat it yet.
do what i did beat it first then come back later.
thats what im doing, im almost done beating it anyway, it might take a few more days to beat it, but im starting my speed run the minute i finish it

i will check the accuracy of the battlehammer, and the Volt cannon, if one of these can get you as high as a dbj, then it wouldnt be neccesary to use the morph ball bomb for some speed tricks. and if i find one that blows you HIGH, then i will record it and probably find a few speed tricks using this technique. this is giving me some "ideas"...

edit 2: the battlehammer gives you 9 damage
and the volt driver gives you 55 damage. thats all the things that you didnt have in your post there, so...that is all

edit 3: okay, this doesnt have anything to do with the stuff above.

i think i have found a way to enter a SW. okay, so i was in celestrial archives, in the data shrine 3, and i thought "maybe i can get samus in a tunnel!" so i tried, and what do you know? i actually was able to time an unmorph good enough for samus to be in the tunnel. but the tricky part is to enter the SW. i actually have my DS on right now next to my laptop, and i am trying to jump in the tunnel so i can pop out. but nothing yet. anyway, here are the tips:

morph into a ball
roll to a tunnel
at the right time, do the unmorph (you must time this trick yourself)
when in tunnel, keep hitting all the buttons (X, Y, B, A)(this can make the process go faster)
if lucky, you pop out of the tunnel, in a SW!

i havent had any luck with this tunnel im in, but i will try this out with other ones, if you want a screenshot of it, i will post it up tomorrow. i couldnt convince my dad to upload the pic in the computer right now, but i will post it up tomorrow.
I just wanted to note, I posted that drip moat ST on the first page. :p
i didnt know that, then you take the credit. MAN, i got to read more..:p
You can use a charged Magmaul shot to boost yourself to the Judicator ledge very easily. Sadly, you need the Judicator to get to the Magmaul, so that's out of the question. Back to the Morph Ball Bomb method, which is harder but still easy.
what are you talking about? how to get magmaul before judicator?
You can boost yourself to the ledge the Judicator's is on with the Magmaul, but there's no point since you need the Judicator first, so you can't use that method to get the Judicator.
