Well speed trick.  Not really big but yeah, its something for now.  Saves less than a second I guess :?

http://s47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/iamthejackie/?action=view&current=Picture001.jpg

If you walk on this, you'll be able to skip a couple of those regular platforms.  Also works on that other pillar/platform area too in Celestial Archives and is much more helpful because there will be many of those green jellyfish things around blocking your way.  By using this trick, you'll save the hassle of blasting every single one of them thats in your way.
On the cetial ARchives to save five seconds stand where the firs artifact key appeers then kill thoese pycho bots and then the key will a apeer but you will be on it and then you wil get the artifact saving couple seconds! ^_^
you can just use the rocket jump to boost to a platform instead of using another to reach the one you could blast on. it's kinda obvious anyways, but whatever. i was on ca just a few minutes ago, and i was in the room with the orange platforms, so then i just thought to use the rb to boost up to a platform that you can't reach with a regular jump, but it could save you a second or two.

whoah. just found a real great speed trick. Allows Imperialist grab right after you kill trace. also saves over half a minute if pulled off quickly (or however much time it takes you to climb the landing site and kill the guardians)

Requirements: magmaul before arcterra boss #1

1. After you kill the slench vrsn 2, go as normal to where trace is. Kill trace.

2. The force field blocking the magmaul door is now gone since trace is terminated.

3. Go through the door, kill the quadtroids FAST, and continue on as if you were going for arcterra # 2.

4. Kill the snow beast, grab the imperialist. quickly scope in and shoot the imperialist target.

5. Take the elevator up fast.

6. Take the air jump thing, turn around, hit the two targets.

7. Take the left side top of the hole.

8. Scan the portal thing.

9. Go through the portal and into your ship.

Time saved:

1:30 climbing arcterra landing site
at the very least 30 seconds from guardian fight
30 seconds travelling to the magmaul door from the top...

so it probably saves about 2 minutes in total.

Hey. Seems likea cool idea. Can you give me a discription of how to get this Magmaul before Arcterra Boss #1 without changing too much of the route described in the first post in:

Anywhere, everywhere
Okay, how about I give you one. Wink
First, do all the Noxus, Ice Hive, Judicator crap. Once you get the Judicator, go through the purple force field, the turn right and go through that force field. Get the artifact, then go straight through the tunnel. Right in front of you is a portal back to the ship. Fly away, then come back once you have the Magmaul.

You can easily obtain all the items after you kill the first two or three bosses.

I think he meant a good speed substitution. :P
New way to super speed the gorea mode change process. If you get really close to gorea then gorea will melee attack you. You got in front of him and easily dodge his attacks by jumping back. Dodge his attacks 3 times to get him to switch mode.

I'll make a vid soon...i hope no one discovered this yet....

The Portal works?
No, he said in another thread that he tried it and it didn't work.

I do this in Morph Ball form actually. I get close to him and then he will stand on his middle leg. Then I roll between his legs, and he will change form behind me (first time he makes a noise, but when he changes he doesn't make any sound). So after a few times repeating this he changes to Imperialist. Then I get my Imperialist out and I let him melee attack me (I jump back to avoid getiing hit). After as you also said three times he changes so I can hit him up close with the imperialist. It's way faster than letting him attack with his arm cannon.

Yes, the portal works!

It doesnt work on the second time through.

What about low percent? I think his melee does like 50+ DMG..and not all form are three...some are 4 and imperealist is 2...

How about this here is what a recomend..
(1)First shoot the Volt driver pannel...then
Get in his face until imperealist then quickly go around wil morph ball and shoot the battle hammer , Magmul , and shock coil since they are easyier at close range...then since your far away from gorea i hope.....shoot his arms off. since your far off at a distance you will disable all his tenticals allowing a you to cut off 1/3 of his health bar...now.. once he is out of orb mode look around and shoot judicator and imperealist panel when convenently dodging his melee attacks then

(2) get in his face until imperealist again but this time dodge two imperealist melee attacks then (hoping to god you have imperealist on) jump back out of the ring and shoot his orb..while shooting his orb try to move back as FAR as posible with out freezing him so that he won't use his tenticals to attack and basicly snipe off another 1/3 of his health bar...just repeat part 2 and he will die..

I found another way of skipping the Ice Hive Wasp fight (I browsed through the topic but couldn't find any description like this).

When you enter the room, walk straight ahead. Then fall down where the Jump pad later will be activated, and go left where the 3 Wasp Spawns hang on the wire. Back up against the wall at the left most spawn, then jump straight up, to get above the wire, pushing yourself to the wall at all times. Then look down and walk backwards so that you slowly move to the ceiling (is this a glitch???) and then, when the screen starts shaking you can't go higher, immediatly go left, to get into the large hole in the wall (it is left of the big grey door). Then, get as close as possible to the platform with the missile and stay as close to the wall as possible. Just walk to the platform (with missile) and let yourself fall for a VERY short moment, and then jump mid-air. If you stay as close to the right as possible (where the wall is) you should land on the platform. :)

Just morph, roll through the tunnel, and activate the first portal, then jump up where the Boss Portal is, fall down the ice bridge and into the Judicator room, from there you can open each Purple Force Field after you grab the Judicator.

Anyway it's WAY faster than I described. When I enter Ice Hive I can get on the Missile Platform in 10 - 20 seconds.

I hope to get some photos or whatever later on, because it's a pretty weird thing to pull off...

Edit: I did it 4 times now. It's difficult to master but I seem to do it without problems now.  :D
Troid92 from SCU IMed me a very nice trick in Council Chamber during Alinos second visit. The trick allows you to skip the Magmaul Guardian behind the third Magmaul gate (if the first one goes to the energy tank and the second is the one that appears behind you when you enter) AND the Ice/Magma Voldrums fight. Go to the jump pad and activate it, then turn around and try to find the panel above. You can actually scan it from underneath the force field. When you go around to the Voldrum room, edge around the room on the left. That is what I did on the first time I tried this and I haven't tried it any other times. I do not know if crossing the center will trigger the fight, and I don't know if the trigger for the fight is still there during the escape. I'm pretty sure the Magmaul Guardian is gone, however, because the force field in front of the jump pad going to the Voldrum fight is gone during the escape. Saves a minute or two.

Wow... start a speed run, then finally catch up on this topic, and find out there are huge route tricks that now force me to restart my run. >_<

@mightypoo: My battlehammer method is probably faster. you slide up the wall with the help of the battlehammer and jump up to the platform.

I found a method that had me go around the entire room. it suxed. I only got it once. :(

and if you get on top of the vault door, no, you cannot slide through it.

Is there a video on this?
You do NOT need the battlehammer. I usually DBJ up onto the ledge next to the float, but it's possible to float up using neither a jump nor the Battlehammer.
I wouldn't normally double-post, but this is huge... I got to Arcterra visit 2, where you finish what would normally be Arcterra Visit 1, but use Magmaul to grab the Imperialist right after fighting Trace. Well, when I first tried this, I got the Imperialist with five minutes left on the clock, so I thought, why not try to finish Arcterra? I managed to get the Sanctorus Artifact, then I unlocked the Fault Line artifact and got a little into the force field maze before I died. My second attempt went much smoother because I'd decided to grab the ammo in Ice Hive. I defeated the Arctic Spawn much quicker and did the force field maze first. Then I got the one guarded by the electricity and went to Sanctorus. I collected the Sancorus Artifact and defeated the Guardians to open the door. I didn't even have one second left when I defeated the Guardians, so I died. I honestly think this is possible and is definitely a huge speed trick. If anyone else wants to try it, this is what I recommend:

-You MUST have Magmaul to open the door.
-Additionally, Volt Driver is a must, or else you won't be able to defeat Trace quick enough.
-Before trying this, get as much ammo as possible - the Volt Driver takes quite a bit of ammo, and you might run out. I ran out during the Arctic Spawn fight on my first attempt, and you really don't want that.
-Any time you see Guardians, use the Imperialist zoomed headshot. This is the quickest method of defeating them.
-Use Magmaul on the Arctic Spawn.
-When you're defeating the Quadtroids, use five morph ball bombs each. Try to kill more than one at a time if they're close together.
-Don't bother going after items unless you're strongly in need of what they supply, which would be missiles, ammo, or energy.
-Top speed is needed for the whole thing, not just the Arcterra Visit 2 part.

I believe that the "good-graphic" cutscene triggered by starting the boss fight will stop the timer. We just need enough time to make it there and we can double-boss Arcterra.
i though double bossing was imposible....the boss portal won't open...
wow. good work. i think that this will be even bigger than people might think if it's done because of the way the timer forces you to improve. i was already stoked about seeing a run, but now i'm totally into it. summer can not get here quickly enough.
hmm, i noticed something weird, when i was facing noxus on my low% file on arcterra, i actually caught him in a tight space, there he was "stuck", so i just kept shooting at him until he died. pretty little speed trick i guess, but probably under the category: glitch as well. it also works with every other hunter, as long as you catch them in some corner or gutter, but sometimes it's completly random, so it won't work everytime.

as for secret worlds:

i just thought of something for the echo hall sw. since you can land in the tunnel once you warp through the roof, i then remembered the "ledge jump", or "roller jump" trick. what i thought was using it to land on the surface of the blank space of the sw, since there isn't really any infinite fall, just a high enought height to make you die. so i tried to land in the tunnel, outward enough so half of samus was sticking out, and half of her in the tunnel. there i would then just walk off the tunnel, and when i fell high enough, use my other jump to prevent a die. but i tried it several times, and never got the right position. it was either: whole form in the tunnel or: to far away to land, so i died. i'm going to try it again tonight, but maybe mr potter might want to try it out, since he's into the hunters sw's, much like i am, i don't know. :p

so the whole point of it is landing it the sw, so i could test out the "floaty jump", and the other sw techniques. but if the floaty jump doesn't work, then sw's won't be useful at all. or at least with this sw.

Yeah, it was confirmed that the VDO 1 boss portal won't while escaping from VDO 2, so I doubt the Arcterra 2 portal will open while escaping Arcterra 1. It would still be cool to try though, who knows.

I found something that should save some time, I don't think anyone has mentioned it before (I could be wrong). The first time through Weapons Complex, you are supposed to fall into an icy pit and fight two ithraks, instead of falling into the pit, move around the edge and the ithraks should come into sight hanging from the ceiling, shoot them now and they will die in a few uncharged shots, then just drop down to get the key.
