I found a nice little speed trrick in Alinos that could shave off a minute or so. :D  First, you must get this octolith last. Just get the Magmaul then leave for later. Beat Cretaphid v3, but instead of exiting towards the ship, go to the Alimbic Cannon. Once you activate it, the timer will stop and you will be saved a third trip to Alinos.

No:
1st trip: Required at the beginning
2nd trip: To get Magmaul
3rd trip: To get Octolith and Alimbic Cannon

If you could get the Magmaul on the last trip however, then it would work.

Sadly, that's impossible.

I know that, but I still think that it would be faster because normally you have ship- junk- return to ship, ship- junk- return to ship, ship- junk- return to ship. My way is the same the first time, then get the Magmaul. There is a portal back to the ship right there so it barely wastes any time. Then you could return back later. So, in a way, it's only 2 full round trips.
found a major secret world trick:

it seems that the secret worlds will have some sort of use now, i was in echo hall, entering the secret world in the room, and when i popped through the room, i saw that there was the small maze tunnel right below where i was. so, when i did it the first time, i died, but on my second try, i tried to land on the tunnel, and i did. i landed right in the tunnel, just like how you can walk in a tunnel with the morph sw technique. except that when i tried to morph again, i couldn't. so i was trapped unless i restarted my game.

so, the point is that you can use these mandatory ledges/tunnel as a ledge yourself to use to walk around the room, in a secret world state. i haven't tried it on the other sw's, but i am defenitly sure it will work with other sw's, as long as there is a ledge/tunnel below the room that you can use. i can make a vid of it now, but i have to get to bed in about a hour.. actually, maybe i will make a vid. anyway, there are no special things you can do in echo hall, as when you land in the tunnel, after you jump through the roof, you can shoot the morph ball door in front of you, but you won't move to it, all this trick does is have you walk around the tunnel, but sooner or later, it will get boring and you will need to restart your game, since you won't be able to morph after you are in the tunnel. i'll edit this post once i get the vid up.
Hey, I think I found some sequence breaking stuff, but the thing is that you need a volt driver to open the door soo anyways...  Here it is.

In the synergy core (celestial archives, first teleport on the left i think?  the first teleporter in the game that you encounter)if you climb all those platforms you would normally end up above that huge green screen right?  Well if you see those blue things on the left and right of the "cave" you can actually jump on those things (the one on the right is better) and mid jump to one of those boosters (the things that launch you in the air).  It's cool.  But that booster leads to a door that needs a volt driver  :(

Theres another one.  Incubation vault 3, you can see that there are two pillar things that are holding up this green electrical thing.  Well if you're on the bottom of this stage you can actually get up to the bridge, skipping all the teleportation hassle.  You just try to climb the pillar.  What you do is go for the pillar on the right (if you dont do this right, you're on the wrong pillar maybe) the one that is further away from the door with the blue things around it.  If you see on the base of the pillar, it juts out forming a convenient place for you to stand on.  Then you just walk up the slanted part and when you cant go any further, you jump.  If you can go through, its probably because of the shape of the bridge, you can see that it has wierd edges, go through the opening.

Thats all.  Sorry if it was difficult to understand.

Hmm, I just do the Morph Ball Bomb jump behind the "two pillar things that are holding up this green electrical thing" and unmorph after the last bomb has exploded to make in on the ledge to enter the portal. Seems easier to me...
Ah damn youre right.  But my first trick seems to be good though.  Just need the volt driver.  It could still be used in a speed through because if you do the right way, you're gonna have to wait a long time for the elevator.
Damn i just read through all the pages and damn, both of my discoveries have been discovered.  oh well, i feel good about finding it out my self

Anyways, I have a question.  Is it possible to have other hunter's beams to unlock doors for you?

I hope I've helped.

Btw to stay on-topic:

I'm getting stuck on the Incubation Tank sometimes. Does anyone know the fastest way to go through the whole Docking Bay/Incubation tanks without losing too much time? It's soo confusing sometimes in there. And I haven't found a decent explanation of this part of the game yet. Embarassed
you didn't need that much detail, but still a nice description :p

well, this won't be any help, but i think the right-most portal leads to IV02, the left-most one leads to IV01/3, but when you accedentally land on a platform that you didn't intend to go on, then use the little "poles" that stick out on each platform, it can save you the time of traveling to each portal with the moving platforms, but be sure to land on them right; if you don't, then you will slip off the poles and fall into oblivion... and die. tiny speed trick, saves you the trouble of hovering to each portal. and no, i am not taking any credit for the trick, i'm sure it has been discovered, or not mentioned, but been done.

as for secret worlds, i've been wondering, since the morph sw trick puts you in tunnels, doesn't that mean that technically you're in a sw? since you are in the out-side boundaries when half the room is pitch black, due to the sw, and the "wormhole" thing that you see behind yourself, more like in front of the door way. in that case, then that means that every room that has a tunnel in it would count as a sw, then making A LOT more sw's in this game. and this game has about 50-100 tunnels in it, then there would be about 100 sw's in the game!

so, i don't know if that sw thing will get us more sw's, but i don't know. i think it would be a good edition to have some more se's, but since you can't really do anything when you are in the tunnel, i don't know if it would count.

HAHA I've been jumping those things since I first played that  Laughing

Anyway, here's how I do it: I face the artifact location at the Docking Bay. Then I go to the left-most portal to get in Incubation Vault 1. Then I walk straight ahead into the next portal. Then, when I killed the guardians there, I bombjump/mid air morph (blabla whatever you call it) and grab the thingie to remove the artifact shield. Then I grab the artifact shield and walk into the portal facing the artifact. When I'm warped in the new location I walk straight ahead until I reach a T-junction. There I make a right trun and walk trhough the door. I fall down, and grab the Shock Coil. Then I shoot the Blue Force Shield, kill all the enemies and go straight ahead through the door where the Portal was (after you beat the creatures the portals are activated) and go into second portal you come across. From there on I fall down, shoot the Blue Portal (there are two blue poles left and right of that door) and acces the portal that is behind it. Yay. Comments on that? Please?  :)

That's exactly how I do it but there may be a faster way.
MUST be a faster way, but thats what i use to get the artifact, so i will just stick with that one. question, has anyone been able to do a l-lock spring jump? i've been wondering about that for some time, but i never really tested it out, nor tried to. i would suspect no, because it requires a lock on to the ground, then letting go of the lock, so you get the extra length. you could probably use this (if you even can) to reach those platforms faster in docking bay, but i don't even know if it works
doesn't have to do with the lock on, just looking down/up. i have no idea whether it works in this game or not.

Sometimes, when I speed run, I do rodeo jumps (or something similar). I don't know if they speed up either, but I'm just so used to doing it in the GC versions.
Did you guys complete your speed run yet?  Mine is
2H 33M 48S
and I didnt even use most of the tricks here.

It's an old time though. I used some new speed tricks, but it's so hard. Everyone keeps finding new good tricks.. I try to keep up but it's almost impossible  Laughing It's about time for a mayor collection of tricks..

found a new speed trick... too bad for you mightypoo. :P

in Ice hive, to get up to the missile expansion without having to trigger the wasp battle:

There is a corner right by the judicator gate. take out the battlehammer and aim into the corner and blast away while holding into the wall. Once you get a grip on the wall, you can slide along the wall and jump to the morph ball hole.

I managed to climb the Ice Hive walls the first time I got to the room, but I cannot for the life of me manage to then jump off of the ledge afterwards. :? It seems to not let me jump, even if I slide off to try a mid-air SJ.

Any suggestions?

thats why you substitute the first jump with the battlehammer to push yourself up the walls. if you dont jump going up the wall, you can jump to the ledge once you get a hold on the wall.

you're very discouraging. :P

i know that you can get up that way, but its really slow and hard to get the right spot. with the battlehammer it goes alot faster.
