That's really great. Finally a video of the other SJE method. I thought I was the only one who knew how to get SJ this way and I feel happy that at least one other person is using this method. Anyway, good job!

T3: I already knew, I just had a hard time uploading it. Anyway, thanks T3.
That is just amazing. That jump was hard enough in the gamecube version and you somehow managed to pull it off in the much less broken wii version. I am really confused as to how you got the height and distance required to make the jump. Seriously though, great job.
very nice. i might actually watch a speedrun for the trilogy version if one gets made.
I'm making MPT Speedruns!! I made three segments. This is segment 3

Thanks!!! I was working on this last month. It took forever! So I made it and put as a gamesave.U ghetto+dash jump to get the height. This took me until February 12, 2010 to get this
ooooooh my god i just realised why the beetle dash works
Care to explain?
Basically, when you do a dash, it's just barely not really enough to get you the distance of the platform. However, there's a kinda ledge that you can hit which smacks you upwards (which you can see in the video fairly clearly actually) and it gives you just enough height.

THAT'S IT!!!!!!!! Finnally someone, besides me, finally got it. Also more MPT Speedrun videos coming soon!

er ... duh? this is obvious and well-known.
do you mind calming the fuck down... Anyways, we're talking about trilogy. where dash jumping is severely hampered. ship dash is all about distance, which dash jump in trilogy has an insanely difficult time gapping. Beetle dash is more about hitting a ledge at the right time to get a ghetto affect, so it is 'easier'.
oh didn't realize this was a trilogy topic. seems like maybe it should get its own board after all. my last statement still stands though ... i mean why else would it work?

Well it's just a better explanation for some people who dont realise it (like me up until recent)
