It took me about 3 minutes to figure out SJF on GC, because I had already figured dash jumping out and was just using it for shits an gigs until I saw that and was like ZOMG
It took me about an hour to get SJF my first time. I still remember the first time I saw space jump first. I was in complete awe because I had never seen Metroid Prime played that way. It was only about 5 months ago but I have really come a long way. I can't believe there are still people complaining about how it's impossible. They must really, really suck.
Unbelievably so.
Jagger ftw
My first version of MP1 was 0-02, so I practiced locking on the seedling for DAYS. (But that did help me on SJF).
I was good at the beetle dash (IIRC I did it before the method was put on the main site but thought it was useless) but it's definitely not possible in this version.
Jagger ftw
Would you like to give it a try extra_smug?
I tried it. You need like a pure height dash, which is totally not possible.
Jagger ftw
Did you get that save?
The SJF one? Not as of yet.
Hows it going everyone. Ive bin a a huge fan of Metroid  games and the sequence breaking all my life. Got a lil story 1st if u don't mind.
I havnt played them in like 2 years though. lol. A few days ago I bought the Trilogy. And the 1st thing I wanted to do was get that Space Jump ASAP. I knew the scan dash was gone so I kept trying the bomb jumps. 2 pain stacking hours and I finally touched the edge but nope.
Anyways  have read this whole thread and watched every movie. This dang 2BJ is killing me.
How come the HBJ, The UBJ or even the Triple Bomb Jump not mentioned. Wouldnt they get more than enough hieght off the ship or next to the little rock? I hant tried it cause Im horrible with those Bjumps.
You can't lay more than one bomb in the air anymore. Try Space Jump First. Apparently it's kinda easy.
I see. Thanks. It just hit me what the "1 bomb in air rule was" lol. Anyways, what about the Prime 1 BSJ. I heard it was sorta doable. Ill def try the SPF though.

BSJ is doable, but there's no place to really utilize it for SJE.
What about the bsj? I don't know of any way using a bsj to get sjf.

Who ever said it was easy? From what i've heard it's extremely hard.
Jagger ftw
Just try SJF.. its the easiest to try.
I would say the bomb jump off the back of the ship method is easiest to try out. It all depends on what you practice the most. For me, the bomb jump off the rock is by far the easiest.
For Bomb jumps, off the ship is easiest, obviously the easiest dash is the only one ;P
Jagger ftw
You can just start a game and then pratice sjf. no need to fight boss n stuff.
I'm glad I'm not the only one having trouble getting SJE in MPT.
Well there's only been three people who have done it so far but I really hope the number will grow.
Jagger ftw
@ Metroid
Excluding Dragon, T3, Baby and me  grin new
@T3
Three?
Oh yeah, I almost forgot Dragoon...
Jagger ftw
The first three person are all from Ontario. extra_smug

Yea. All these guys here are probly veterans. I was pretty good at most things in Prime 1. Like every one says, its a lot of luck and skill to do some of the Breaks. SPF and SPE are really tough now, Retro Studios aint being fair:C
edit. My bad I meant SJF and SJE. Ima a terrible typer.
Jagger ftw
SPE, SPF?

Also, I think its fair, because the dedication of some people here at m2k2 have magic powers.
