so have i commented on the graphics on here already?

art syle is great, models and textures fine enough too but nintendo, yet again, thought i'd be a good idea to mash a  bunch of filters onto the game to make models look less jaggy. i haven't played tp in a long time but this might be the blurriest game i have ever played.

they could have made that shit optional at least. the silent hill games did that too.

and it also occurs to me that the interlacing might be seriously fucking shit up with this game.

seems to be as long as any other console zelda

so like 25-35 hours? The only console Zelda I've recently played was WW
yeah, pretty much if you don't do any sidequests (which is like missing out on half the game)
Indie Lover
yeah, my time was 32 hours with only doing 2 side quests.

i did loads of sidequests and finished at almost 31 hours. i didn't get everything though (
hero mode doesn't let you finish your file so be sure to copy it before beating the final boss.
)

lol, i knew something was odd about the maps and now it hit me that there's no minimaps. no wonder i was pausing for the map so much.

it still puzzles me how they got TWW to look so clean and how this game looks "dirty" in comparison. i guess that's the difference between real cel-shading and lookalike textures.
just beat the third dungeon and i've got to say this game might have the best boss battles of all zeldas. just sucks the second and third boss were too easy, the third one especially ... the damn thing hardly fought back.
Well, completed the 3rd dungeon by now. I would be so much further in if I didn't have my life. :/

Anyways, the first and second bosses were actually difficult. I was anxious for the third boss fight... then I got that sad excuse that just... died.

you know a boss is a wimp when
it shows up later as a regular enemy.

we have to agree that was a very WTF moment, i didn't expected to find the boss again there...

I'll be snagging this in a little over an hour once Best Buy opens. aiwebs_011

It'll then proceed to consume my life/time until I defeat it. I know it'll happen.
anybody else had problems with the controls when the batteries were running out? especially playing the harp was near impossible last time i played.

nope, i only had problems with the beetle if i kept the wiimote inclined, then it didn't flew in a straight line...
anybody completed the pumpkin store sidequest where you gotta play harp? i can't seem to get this done. the controls always screw around with me. goddamn.

as i said, i didn't completed any side quests except the first one and the potion for the hurt bird one...

Seems I've barely don eany sidequests so far. :/ I tend to leave it for the second playthrough... which'll be a joy on Hero Mode.
Funny....my skyward sword countdown screen saver is now counting down to 8 hours and 47 minutes from now.  It was counting down to midnight on saturday night.  WTF is it counting down to now?
Indie Lover
maybe it broke...

Probably just another moon coming down and smashing a town.
..or it's counting down to the point where I have a nervous breakdown caused by those fucking skulltullas.  I refuse to read for help though.
Indie Lover
oh but this games have that perfect feeling that you are getting better, not the character, just remembered when i finally understood how to quickly dispatch skultulas and the chu-chus

then when you kill a giant chu-chu in 1 second with 3 very fast sword swings, it's awesome...

Oh man, I still can't take them out right and I've seen them all over the place by now. It's mostly been luck against them.

I can't believe I've already put as much time into this game over two days as I have.
I just stopped after getting the sea chart for the Lanaryu Sand Sea. Funny that the desert has been my favorite area so far, both times I've come here. The time manipulation stuff is awesome.

Overall this game is making a serious run against OOT for my favorite Zelda, which is saying a lot, and I've only come across a few places that frustrated me to no end. (The first dungeon boss was highly annoying because I was being stupid about it.) The story has keep me interested the whole way and I love the subtle (or not so subtle) nods to other games in the series.
"It's a secret to everybody" got me laughing since I just played LOZ last week in preparation.
I beat this game yesterday. A little over 50 hours for me to get all heart pieces and defeat all of the desert challenges. I left the game on for probably an hour or two durring that time because people won't stop bugging me and I had my boss actually call me over the weekend for an hour about a work project.

Anyway I'd say it is one of the best Zelda games. My only complaint is the F#$%ing harp game on pumpkin island and then a few complains I'll put in spoilers for those who have not beaten the game.

Huge warning for everyone! When you do the desert trials (they are very late in the game and optional) DO NOT skip the 10th reward. Doing the 11th boss battle only rewards 3000 rupess and doesn't give you the previous rewards. I got f#$%ed out of 30 minutes of my life because of that...

No darknuts which would have been perfect in this game
There is no real final dungeon
Final boss is to easy, I actually had a harder time on Gihram's 3rd

Anyway I started a Hero mode playthrough but I'm having a hard time playing the game again. I guess thats what happens when you play practically non stop for a week.

anybody else noticed they didn't use any of the more memorable zelda songs at all? i just started listening to the special orchestral cd and it's awesome. wish the stuff would have been in skyward sword.

JUST WAGGLE YOU WIIMOTE

no kidding. i had a friend play the game up until after the first dungeon and he pretty much just waggled through the whole part of the game. even the skulltullas, when on the ground, had no way of hitting him while waggling the wiimote in his hand.
