first i will try to fix my biologic clock, it's been a while since a game make me do that, just play one single game without stopping, i think the last one was Kingdom hearts 2...
all in all i think my score remains a 10, it's a zelda game that i like, i hate most of the zelda games and this one was like crack, i couldn't stop playing the damn thing, it was minish cap all over again...
Skyloft isn't very memorable so far, and it's a bit big. The Kokiri Village, Clock Town and Portmonee (or what it was called) were all far better than this. The cutscenes are a bit much in the beginning, but the character interaction is awesome and fun. They did a good job there. Sword fighting is fun and the controls work well enough. the game's pretty tight with where you can go up walls and where not. already found a spot where link should have been able to go through but lolinviswall. i think this sucks, because i think this is were all previous 3d zeldas shined (maybe except for tp, dunno about that anymore). it's really great to be able to hang onto evbery single cliff you can find in the game.
anyways i saved in the sealed grounds temple right at the statue in the big hall. is it correct that i'm getting the slingshot only later on? i want to get the bug-net as soon as possible and it seems i need to have the sling-shot to buy that.
i also love how much effort they put into the instruction manuel. it's more than 100 pages big!
you get the sling shot after saving the kikwi fellas...
also about skyloft, the thing is ridden with sidequests and have at least one secret area (that you unlock doing one of the sidequests. lots of items are all only obtainble by doing these sidequests, like the hilyan shield, pots and half the heart pieces. so you will have lots of things to do in it, and by the middle of the game you will prolly be more attached to it
i don't know about anyone else but i feel the game is better than TP and TWW already. the only area where TP competes equally is dungeons since TP sucked outside that and TWW's flaws like too much sailing and lack of dungeons knock it down. it can't match OoT and MM however. those games have something special that has been missing from zelda games ever since then (and it isn't sequence breaks)
i'm about to reach the 6th dungeon. the tear collecting is better than how it was in TP and flying (which is being compared to sailing in some places) feels much better since it is more dynamic and you get to your destination quickly (unlike TWW where crossing just 3 quadrants felt overlong) the 5th dungeon (the boat) was something quite new for 3D zeldas. also, anyone feeling flashbacks to the GB zeldas after certain puzzles and mechanics? i don't know why but this game makes me recall LA and Oracles stuff more than stuff from previous 3D Zeldas (outside the obvious similarities with TP)
started the hero mode, this is what is different until now:
- everything does double damage, that means that everything does at least 2 hearts damage - your skyward strike starts already full power (as powerful as the master sword skyward strike)
