Oh, and isn't the bronze Samus emblem for being a Super Hunter? I've seen silver ones on the Elite Hunters that I've run across.

I think it is from a combined total of 25 online and offline victories.
Sub 2 hours complete!

Time:  1h 56m 22s
Gorea: 0h 06m 56s [0h 05m 32s/0h 01m 24s]
Deaths: 0
Hunters: 56
Precentage: 21%

What really adds time is the second visit to the Celestial Archives; nearly double everything else. My girlfriend's sister was my time-keeper, this isn't perfect, but it's a good estimate:

Celestial Archives 1: 12 minutes
Alinos 1: 8 minutes
Vesper Defence Outpost 1: 12 minutes
Arcterra 1: 13 minutes
Celestial Archives 2: 22 minutes
Alinos 2: 16 minutes
Arcterra 2: 15 minutes
Vesper Defence Outpost 2: 11 minutes
Alinos 3: 3 minutes
Oubilette: ??? [Didn't really log it]

The reason the second visit to Celestial Archives is so long is because you have to go to Data Shrine 02 to get the Volt Driver, then go back. I don't know what's faster, making your way up from the Gateway(Where the Hunter Gunship is) or using the portal to get to Synergy Core, then go down and come back up. I used the Synergy Core method because I think you always fight in Data Shrine 01, so that would skip that.
i just got the game today and i LOVE it!! so far, i just beat kanden on the first level and am getting use to the controls, like aiming the cannon up and down, with the stylus. sorry this is off topic, but i didnt want to make a new topic telling that i just got it. but anyway, my time is 22:xx, first level. kinda suckish, but hey, im a new cucumber to this! :p

:o  :o  8-)

Well done! So what is this game like to speed run properly then? Is it enjoyable? Is there much scope (in comparison to the last 2 primes) for decent speed tricks?

Speed running the game's quite fun, I was never able to speed run the other too Prime's as the controls were way to alien for me to preform very well with. Yet, this felt like a PC FPS and those skills transfered right over, making some tricks easier. Most tricks are getting through places quickly, I don't think I know of any tricks which you get items earlier than possible, but there's hope.

The only thing that the other Primes have than this doesn't was multiple ways in and out of rooms; since planet layouts are somewhat linear, so you can't get to places really ahead of time, just quicker.

Here's a picture of the end screen:
<edit> I have a new run, page 5 <edit>

I was thinking of going through the game again (7th or 8th time I believe) and getting video of all the tricks I used. It wouldn't be the best quality, but it could help others.
The other day I got exactly two hours. Would've been 1:59, but I did Gorea 2 and stupidly hit "OK" at the end, so it saved everything I did up to getting the e-tank, meaning I lost a lot of time. In fact, when I cut back the Gorea fight the best I could, it was two hours and six seconds. I am doing another run, with a major route change I did in this run; but a little more organized, and I can see that Liku did not use it. What it is is play VDO first. When you arrive:

-go get the Battlehammer
-start the puzzles leading to the third Artifact
-get the first Artifact from beating the Ithraks
-beat the tower enemy thingy
-enter the portal, take off from the ship

From here, you land on Celestial Archives and get the Volt Driver, then take the portal back to the ship and from there proceed normally. The reason for this is that the volt driver really does cut back on the time spent fighting the hunters, even on the first time you see them. Works on Noxus, Trace, and Sylux.

EDIT: Starting Alinos Part 1 right now... I have 12% octoliths and 2% complete. (I got an energy tank and a missile expansion in Celestial Archives.)
definitely should get all the videos you see a need for. just because you can't record for sda yet doesn't mean it can't be hosted elsewhere (either by mills or by archive, etc).
i thought archives went by sda's rules also.. but anyway, if someone can record a decent run of MP:H, then maybe Radix can accept it, or if nintendo makes a new "DS player", or something like that, then were going to have to wait a while, which i doubt that will happen. but i do like the idea of recording the games with a camera, i wonder why radix doesnt like those type of recordings.
Finished the run. 1 hour, 55 minutes, 57 seconds.

They're usually bad quality.

I'm going to try another run, using that route.
right, but you can always fix that with setting the camera in the right spot...i did, with my Metroid Prime game, but i didnt know that it was against sda rules to record with a camera, and i thought it was good quality. now, off to play hunters! :p
Just completed my third run of the game, going for low% and speed this time:

- 2:58 Time
- 18% Completion
- 6 Deaths
- 53 Hunters/Guardians
- 12 min 35 sec Gorea

Got 3 UAs and 3 E Tanks only, plus about 5-6% scans by the end most likely. That was it, so the Octoliths probably count towards the percentage.
New time:

Time: 1h 54m 37s
Gorea: 0h 07m 06s
Deaths: 0
Hunters: 56
Precentage: 20%

Skipped more UA's and E-Tanks, tried the new route, but the whole thing was semi-sloppy. My hand is hurting from all these runs. I need a break. But I'll go through again, not speeding, to capture those tricks.
Wow, we keep beating each other by one minute. :P Must... get... 1:53...

EDIT: Liku, are you beating Gorea 2?

That I am.
lol you times will be even lower if you can kill gorea in less than 120 seconds with the freeze mode giltch.

Probably, but your explanation doesn't quite make sence, I need video or exact description.

Yo! I just got this game a week.. And after my first run through the game (not on speed), I decided to do another run. I got 3h:03:m.

Now, I did it again and my time is:

2h:30m
deaths: 0
Gorea BT: (incomplete)
Hunters and Guradians defeated: 62

I did do A LOT of things wrong. I thing I can shave off 20 minutes easily. With that in mind I think sub-2 hours is possible for me :D
sounds like a speed run to me...about 40 minutes of the current speed run done by Mr Potter, which is 1:53 something..

Nahh, for me the first few times finishing Metroid games are always try-outs. If I speedrun it now and don't hang around on places (or get extra items I don't need) I should get around 2 hours and 10 minutes. Then maybe some finetuning, tricks and shortcuts and then sub 2 is really close  :)  So, first thing I do is learning all the rooms/scanobjects/switches/items/routes (where to go and where not to go) and then the fun begins.
