Hopefully I'll have the record for you to beat by then.
Whoa, this is a really big improvement from my previous time.
1:28:07

Decreased by 9 minutes.

Any mightypoo, there really was no big planet order I just tried to get the Imperialist as fast as I can.
(user is banned)

Route?
...Wow. 1:28? I definitely need the DS Lite now... :(
Hey Potter, there are some stores out there (mainly Target/Kmart) that have been selling DSlites on May 31st accidentally.  I'm not sure if they're still selling them but check it out.  There's been many people out there that have already gotten theirs.  And don't forget to make a speed video!grin new

Yeah this route needs a full explanation. It's too long ago for me to memorize everything I've done. I have to know more about this Shocked Pure... genious extra_smug
I'm gonna try to memorize it
I did pretty much the same things in Mr Potter's minifaq in some other thread.  The only thing I'll post are things that he hasnt put in his minifaq or if its extremely important.

Celestial Archives
Nothing special here just go through the whole planet.  I didnt collect any tanks or missiles
Alinos
Used the recent skip echo hall maze trick.  Didnt use the bomb jump method though.  Proceed normally
Arcterra
Scanned all the Proxy lock in the order thats posted in Mr Potter's minifaq.  Skipped Ice Hive battle and MBJ to Judicator.  Collected only 2 artifacts and teleported back to the ship.
Alinos
Revisit Alinos.  Take teleporter and MBJ to the Judicator door.  Proceed normally.  Collect 2 artifacts and go back to ship.
Arcterra
Teleporter.  Collect 3rd artifact past the Judicator door and defeat boss.  During escape, go through Magmaul door in Sic Transit.  Defeat all the enemies and collect the Imperialist.  Destory force field by shooting the 2 targets and shoot a missile at the tower to have it fall down.  Collect Key but not artifact.  Go back to the first floor and go through the Imperialist door.  Go through maze and defeat the Greater Ithrak and 2 Guardians.  Return to the Artifact with the Electric force field and up to the second floor back to the ship.
Arcterra again
Go to the place with the moving platform where you cannot move but the platform does.  Morphball off the plat form and onto the booster beneath.  Land on the edge of the place and boost your way through.  Complete Imperialist maze and collect Artifact below.  Imperialist headshot all Guardians when you get back up.  Defeat boss return to ship.
Ah gawd i feel tired.
Everything after is what Mr Potter's minifaq says

The only things I collected were
2 Energy Tanks (Alinos PartII/Celestial Archives PartII)
4 UA Tanks (Celestial Archives Room with Volt Driver/ Celestial Archives Room with 4 floating platforms/Arcterra Fault Line?/ Can't remember)
0 Missile Tanks

You can just charged missile/magmaul jump that instead of shooting down the pillar, I think it saves a little bit.
First time through:
Total playtime: 08:22
Gorea fight: 16:14
Deaths: 32
Hunters/guardians killed: 56
Items/scans: 46%

edit:
Gorea 1: 00:11:19
Gorea 2: 00:04:55
Killed enemies: 1207
So far, these are the current records in each category, am I correct? (At least, for what has been posted here.)

Any % - 1:28 by iamthejackie
Low% - 4:34 (15%) by Prime Hunter
100 % - 2:01 by Mr Potter

If they are, do you think I should keep track of them on the first post, to make them easier to find?

Ready and willing.
Perhaps... but with the US release date of the DS Lite coming up fast, maybe we should wait to see if somebody tries actually recording a run.
I've talked with Liku, and we agree that we don't think you could improve by nine minutes unless you found a major speed trick. Can you post some proof that you got 1:28, or explain how you improved so much time?
I have a video of my time in Youtube right now.

Another new time 1:27:37 (or something like that).  I had a spare Alinos' PartII save file in case my previous save file was somehow ****ed up.

I think I might know what I did.  The Skip Judicator door platform activation which has been found not too long ago and I actually did some Artifact hunting in Arcterra Part 1.5.  When I got the Imperialist, I actually took that Red Door nearby to enter the maze and get that Artifact that was in that room.  After that, I returned and got the other Artifact in that Electric guard thing.  I think that might be the answer.

This time was not gotten easily.  I was really frustrated by the amount of restarts I had to do because of the lack of Health and UA Ammo.

I always did the maze first, but activated the elevator in Fault Line before leaving. I just started a run(On the verge of finishing actually) and I just used the skip, so hopefully that'll lower my time considerably.

Only problem for me is that I won't be recording any of my runs. That shouldn't be a problem though, since someone will come along and beat my time eventually anyway. :( (It's just nice to have an "Unofficial" record for once. grin new)

They'd be in such pain, recording a DS is horribly hard, and even worse since the DS moves a bit since the game's kinda intense. I don't see how it's even possible to play MPH with the DS flat on a surface.

I don't know what you did, but that is not it. There is no way that saves ten minutes.
you do know that you don't have to moph ball jump to get the Ice beam thing ...and you don't have to go thought that maze thing too. Just use the "missle duble jump" it's a lot e-zer.
Holy crap, finally.  I meant to post this last night but I got tired and then after school I had to go to work.  I found out what I did.

After restarting for another game I began to slowly recap everything.  I think the trick is Artifact collecting in VDO.
As you already know, I always go for the Imperialist first.  It saves ammo and time if you get headshots.  If you have the Imperialist and do VDO part2 first, you can actually have enough time to get the Artifacts in VDO part1.  First you need to collect the Battlehammer and then go to the red door and finish beating the boss.  On the way out, you defeat Sylux and get the Artifact and also get the other Artifact that was guarded by the Lesser Ithraks.

Wow I cannot believe I haven't figured that out since the beginning, sorry guys.
I don't see how that would save so much time, considering you still need to go back for the boss battle, and you can just use the teleporter near the Sylux battle to get to him, the Lesser Ithrak, then head on over to the other Artifact, right at the Boss Portal, saving you time rather than having to head back to the ship, then from the ship head back to the boss portal.
this situation right here is why i created metroid 2002 (the part that's now sda). (if this continues, we will have to abandon all confidence in the times posted here, at least until a run is recorded.)
Edit:
Actually, yeah, never mind what I said before I can't make a video.  I actually started recording the Celestial Archives Part1, and that video alone took over 300 MB!  I tried to convert it to a wmv file and that took it down to 30 Mbs but now the video isn't appearing.  The only thing I can record are small vids so yeah.
I could probably record it, but the DS would probably shake a good deal, and I might drift out of the camera's view forgetting that I'm recording.
With the loss of my Hunters game cartridge, I will have to redo my 1:47:22 run. I'm aiming for sub 1:45:xx this time, which is insane for me. I can't imagine how a 1:28:xx or 1:27:xx speedrun can be done, with current tricks and route. There must be more to it... aiwebs_008
