:P I speak from experience.  My buddy list on AIM consists of three people.  And one of them is family.

I saw in the first post that you're aiming for a time below an hour...  But something I've been wondering about your run.  Naybe you've answered already, but there is so much to go through to find any posts that actually discuss the run.

What percent are you aiming for?  Or is it just going to be the percent it turns out to be?
I never mentioned it. It will be the percent-rate it turns out to be.

Roughly esteemed around 45-50% because I won't need any more Items after Ridley.
Hey Saturn & Andrew Mills:

You guys mind if I put that second demo to play in my website/profile like most people would a music video?  I'd also set it to link to both SCU and to your website, Saturn, the freewebs-saturnmovies.

Now, no one is going to appreciate what they're going to see (Unless they know the game) but it'd still be awesome if I could set it to play that movie on there.

I ask you Mr. Mills, because I'll be using the url location of the video on your site as the place to play the video from.[/url]
very nice preview there as well, and once again, what music did you use? =P

Nevermind.  I just tried everything I could think of to get a segment of my Morph Ball Run to play like that.  I don't think it could be done.  I'll keep trying, but the outcome looks bleak.

Sure, no problem from my part. It's up to Andrew.

Phoenix & moozooh:
The song moozooh linked to is of the first demo. In the 2nd one I use a Trance-Rave Mix of the popular "Terminator 2" theme, one of the most stunning movies in the history.
So...  When I go to put the video in my profile...  Now, if I wanted to music video coding so it plays one of your demos, Saturn...  I'll make sure to put credit where credit is due in the form of links to the websites of the contributing parties.

These codings will cause the video to play only when somebody clicks "Play" on the video controls.

Stomp major ass!  It does work!  The video is playing!  http://www.darkstarlings.com/display_profile.php?name=DeathNoble  Go see for yourselves!  It's in the "Favorite Movies" section of my profile.

Saturn, Master Mills, the sentence at the bottom of the videos (On my page) credit enough for you guys or would like me to make the links go elsewhere or make the font larger...  Anything?
It takes a while to load the movies but it looks good, nice page. Also Chuck Norris in the background looks cool :-)
That's uh...  The Undertaker.  WWE superstar.  (Wrestler)
Oops sorry :-), he looks so much like Norris, really.

I was just thinking... that super missile pack after phantoon (the one inside the room protected by a gray door before he's dead) may be worth picking up.  It would probably only take 5 seconds to pick up and may speed up the mb fight (or it may not, I don't know mb's hp), but a super missile = 300 dmg and chraged ice+spazer+wave = 300 dmg.  I'm not sure if getting that super missile pack would save enough time spent charging your beam in the final mb fight to make it worth it though.

I will test if it's worth the time to pick the super missiles up when I defeat Phantoon for which I still have a very long way to go. I also have new thoughts to pick up the Plasma as I noticed it's above the water therefor I can get it very fast and it is even on my way to Phantoon. If I take it then maybe it's worthless to pick up the Super Missiles because Charged Plasma makes full 900 damage on Motherbrain.
So whats the progress on this video?  I'm DYING to see it!!
I cleaned Crateria and am back in Brinstar for the final clean-up. Still need to test how to get rid of the energy as fast as possible to crystal flash the unavoidable spore spawn super missile. Many tricky parts in this place require a lot of testing. I also have to find a way to get all the missiles back which I lost because of the crystal flash without slowing down too much.

Progress was slow lately but the next update should be in around 2 weeks if I can get myself to sit down and to work on it more efficiently in the next days.
*Bugs Saturn to work on this run as much as possible*

You saw you're in Brinstar and you need to get rid of energy as quickly as possible for the unavoidable Spore Spawn Super Missile?  I have an idea.

The room on the far left of Brinstar, it has a Missile Refill station and those bugs that you shoot and the lights go out.  Start at the far left of the top of thgat room, go into the next room, open the door to the right, and Shinespark all the way through that long room with Dachora in the "secret" area.  That should wipe out some health.  And of you don't get rid of enough, you can quick charge right in the next room and then Shinespark left and underneath it for some more energy loss.
Thanks for the hints! I will use the shinespark through the long room with Dachora of course. However this only costs me around 1,5 energy tanks of the 5 will have at this point. The spike-boost in the room near another Super Missile and the Energy Tank at the bottom left of Brinstar also makes a good job as it even speeds me up this way. Lets see what the testing-results will tell me on how to remove the rest of the energy (probably damage taking on enemies in my way).
Wait.  I just had an ingenious idea.  Scratch it all.  I've got a total alternative to Spore Spawn's Super Missile pack.

It's not quicker, but it is much more impressive.  That, and if you follow this idea, you'll have Plasma Beam for Ridley.  IIRC, you can get Plasma Beam before Draygoon.  But I'm not sure.  Kej, if you see this, Plasma without fighting Draygoon is possible, right?

I'll be back in about anm hour or so with ZSNES movies of my idea.  It's far-out, but it'll look cool.
Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder
Possible, but not easy or quick.
Well, I would have movies up...  If I had a computer with a CD burner.  Since the Super Metroid rom I have on this computer is NTSC and what I had in mind seems only possible on PAL version... Evil or Very Mad I wish I had a non-sucky computer.

Anyways.  The idea I had was this.  You'll need the X-Ray visor (Early Plasma Beam), so grab that on your way down to Norfair.  At the glass tube into Maridia, break it open.  From there, you need to jump up to the overhead door.  In the next room, open up the red door on the right.  Open the Super Missile gate in the next room.  The following room is difficult with the Evirs and quicksand waterfalls, but if you time your jumps and use the shoot button to straighten yourself out, you can land on every little post sticking out of the ground to stay out of the quicksand below.  The following room will need a Power Bomb to get to the long tube to get to the next room you need to go.  With some well-timed walljumps, you should be able to make it to the Metal door leading to the Plasma Beam.  Using Kej's method of Plasma Beam before Draygon you can get the Plasma Beam while still holding true to the reverse boss order.

Go back and go through that long tube to return to the room where you Power Bomb'ed to get to the tube.  In the next quicksand-waterfall room, you'll want to de-equip Plasma and start using Spazer again, as you need the Evir furthest right in the room frozen to stand to get out of the furthest right quicksand-waterfall in the room.

This trick can be used to get into the Spring Ball room and get the Spring Ball.  Now, I couldn't pull off the trick without the Gravity Suit on, but I'm not all that great a player.  That and hopefully borging will help you get it

Returning to the room above the glass tube, you'll need to freeze the Scizor and the Skultera as shown here so you can jump up onto the frozen Skultera to get to the ledge to the left of it.  (BTW, that jump is the part I was talking about that was working on the PAL version and not the NTSC version.)  Moving up the room, you can skip the next Skultera and kill it, but the next one you'll need alive and frozen in this position to keep climbing.

Now comes the tricky part.  There will be a Scizor climbing up the right wall witch you'll want to shoot him until one more shot will freeze him, but don't freeze him yet.  Let him go.  However, kill the Scizor to the left of you in that picture and the kill the Skultera swimming around just above.  Jump up to that platform the Scizor you just killed was on and wait until the Scizor you let live is crawling on the ceiling just above you.  Fire a Super Missile at the wall to shake him off so falls, turn off the Super Missiles and shoot him one more time so he's frozen in mid-air in the position shown here.  Jump on him, jump up to the ledge, and keep going.  The next Scizor will also need to be frozen to jump up, as shown.  Any enemies from here on out can die, as you'll need no more frozen platforms for here on out.  Now, you can not do all this, but in that case, you'll need to be really good at underwater wall jumping without the Gravity Suit.

The Scizor in the next room needs to die through whatever means possible.  I say mid-air morph and Power Bomb.  Be sure to land on the rock to the right in that screenshot, as falling will cost you much time.  Springball comes in handy here, as with no suits on and a Springball jump holding left will get you to catch the ledge of the invisible tunnel to get to the Super Missile pack.  You'll also need the Springball at this point as Bombs won't propel you up underwater without the Gravity Suit.  Get the Super Missile pack, and roll out.  In the invisible tunnel, detonate a Power Bomb so that annoying Scizor doesn't take you out.  And it will since you move so slow underwater.

Fall down, and let one of the Scizor crawl until it's crawling upwards.  A Super Missile will shake it loose, and it's time for another mid-air freeze, in this position as a stepping stone.  Continue on.  Jumping from here to here seems to be another one of those jumps that only works on PAL version.  From there, just keep on going to Norfair.

Let's review the benefits of all this:  Plasma Beam= handy in Ridley fight; also makes Murder Beam available for your run.  Extra Super Missile pack= always useful; alternative to letting your energy waste down from weak enemies to do this.  Springball= useful for your suitless trip through Maridia to Draygon, where Bomb jumping is no longer an option.  And last but not least, Maridia cleanup suitless= looking cool.  The downside:  Time.  This all takes time.  A lot of it, too.

Your choice, but I think it'd make a good addition to the run.

Man, that was a lot to explain without videos...
Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder
You can't get the spring ball without the gravity suit, because you need the spring ball to get up those ledges underwater since bombs don't work. Catch 22.

Plasma before Draygon takes an insane amount of time, especially without the Gravity suit, and would also look boring before long.

The super missile can be reached by jumping and morphing in mid-air.
So the Springball is put down, and along with it the Super Missile.  And it's put down by one little ledge. Evil or Very Mad

Eh, well.  Still, it's a good start for going after the Plasma Beam if he decides to get it.  I think he should, since like he said, Charged Plasma makes full 900 damage on Motherbrain.  Requiring less Super Missiles/Missiles.  Also gives him the option of the Murder Beam, wich would be very benefical in the Ridley fight.
Thanks for this big analysis DeathNoble, it's a nice idea but as Kej said it would cost too much time and repeating the slow Maridia rooms would be boring to see. I aim for pure speed in RBO conditions so Plasma before Ridley is completely out of choice. I'm not even sure if it is worth to pick after Draygon for Mother Brain and the Murder Beam glitch althougt its not even a big detour (its on the way to Phantoon). I will test it when I reached this point. I also thought of just fighting Spore Spawn as I can kill him in one round by using a frame-perfect tactic (thanks to Graveworm for this idea) but it's still slower because of the route-detour and the waiting time until he opens his shell.

So yes for the sake of speed and entertainment I will use the Crystal Flash methode and avoid Maridia at all before Draygon.
*Shrug*  Still a way to travel (Faster) through that room after the tube than underwater walljumping.

You are on PAL, right?
No, I don't think so.
If he were on Pal he would have escaped from the bomb torizo : He mentions it on the topic "escape bomb torizo" or something I think.
Right, I'm on NTSC because it is a more recognized version overall. The 60 Frames per second also allow the moves of Samus to look alot cleaner in the movie which results in a better quality.

Quote from DeathNoble:

This needs to be tested, it depends on the situation and the distance to the crab you will freeze to see which way will be faster.
