Just seems like beating Yakuza and Nightmare on the first try on 1% seems to be a little fishy.

Imo, ridley is the one that gives me trouble because he is random. Nightmare has a bit of a pattern to it. I really wish I had proof but no one would trust me with an emulator and my dvd player sucks.

On mine Nighty got glitched and wouldn't stop flying around the room! I died after around 5 minutes of frantic space jumping Evil or Very Mad

But he does have a movement pattern, only he scraps it if you move too far away from him. So you're right.
Um, you guys haven't read Sess's 1% commentary enough...
I watched Sess's battle, but I never heard the commentary. What did he say in it?

It wasn't an audio file. It was a page of text. Check the Sess chronicles again.

And they say literacy is on the RISE....
Actually I should have said "never heard about the commentary". I've read it now anyway.
I can goosh most of these bosses with a nice leather boot, but Ridley, Yakuza, and Nightmare did put up a good fight. Also, a few 'escape the freaky samus clone' sequences did provide a nice challenge.

Personally, I think this game with MZM's graphics and programming could be the best Metroid game ever, excluding Prime.
And excluding SM of course....

I think everyone finds Yakuza and Nighty to be purest evil for low%ers. But the Blue X in NOC are still harder, I feel.

Well if you run through the rooms, they can't catch you. And forget about worries when you shoot them.

The ones hiding in blocks can be tricky, but you just have to know where they aren't and you'll get through just fine.
The ones I can't get past are the two right above the platform you have to jump onto in the room just after the one hiding in the block next to the door. If you know where I mean....

If you mean that room where there's an X in the bottom block of a shootable wall with the ladder on the right side of the shaft behind it, then there's a thin wall across from the ladder that you can simply shoot through to skip climbing. You shouldn't need to jump up onto any platforms (except for the higher grounded door in the shaft before).
Damn. I knew it was there the whole time, and never thought to use it the whole time..... Embarassed

Thanks Jagger for reminding me that it indeed is useful and ignoring it like I did is ill-advised.
On a no damage 0% run (yes its possible for 0%) : Omega Metroid. No doubt about it.
Are you saying you've done a 0% run?  Of Fusion?  With no damage?

Tool-assisted or legit?
Cook of the Sea
What do you think?
I've always found Nightmare pretty hard, mainly because he flies around and I can almost never avoid it.

But the Plant boss was quite hard, not the boss itself. Everytime I entered his room, I used to always end up in the flowers and I could never escape.

Yakuza and Ridley are quite fun to fight as well.
I'd say the hardest boss was Nightmare. He pwned me so many times on my first time through the game but now he's easy.

We know 0% is possible, we even named the missile...

If you did it legit I will bow at your feet.
Cook of the Sea
It's not possible legit.
Mister ...
Hardest Boss:    Nightmare. Same reason as everyone else.  Hard to avoid.

Most fun Boss:    Ridley. You gotta admit, he ain't as smart as they say he is.

Most Annoying:  The PLant one. Escaping the flower things. (Took me 5 lives before I realized that to escape, just hold "Jump".)

Otherwise, none of the bosses were too hard.  (SA-X and Omega Metroid was easier than nightmare, and they're final bosses)
Man i hate nightmare!

How are you people able to beat the game with no energy tanks? I can barly go most boss battles w/o losing at least one.
don't get hit.

Duh.  Rolling Eyes I mean, how hard can it be?
