Also, not showing a pic of it, but I re-added the sky to the connecting room and played with events so it undergoes the same "sunset" effect that the rest of Gaia Heights undergoes partway through the game.

That is a great idea. The sunset effect you showed earlier is one of the best graphical things in any hack, so I would sugest using it in quite a few places even with all the work that might be involved. Of course, if you really want some extra work you could put a "night" in after the sunset...

Just a small suggestion...
You could put the middle part of the CRE bridge tiles so that it goes right to the edge of the screen, instead of having one of the curved edges at both sides. That was it looks like the bridge goes off screen.  aiwebs_017. Incase you have no idea what I'm talking about, I mean replace the tile the chozo is sitting on with the tile to the right of that one...

That elevator room has always been and probably always will be my favorite room in this hack. Not only does it look awesome, but you get a free missile pack, too!

YES! Glad to see this is back alive again and loving those epic new rooms! I support you for this and im pretty sure you are Miku Hatsune on the SMW central forums. Why don't you update your hack there and show other people your hack is back alive?

No, he's right.  One of the privileges of being staff on there is that I can change my name whenever I see fit to be whatever I feel like. :P  As for why I haven't done so on SMWC, it's buried in the Rom Hacking forum where few venture.  I kind of see it as a lost cause.  But I may just do so.

The .zip file is corrupt for me. Why do people even bother putting ips files in .zip anyway? Just extra hassle for users, with no benefit as far as I can tell.
Files are no longer in an archive on the first post.  Also, added a headered version for anyone wanting it that way.  Thanks for bringing the corrupt archive to my attention.
hmm. this is awesome. I like the exploration.
some things I want to comment on though:

-sanctorum looks very dry and empty. meybe it's just my dislike for the tourian tileset, I dunno, but I don't like it.

-you made all the brown colored doors an uglier brown  Neutral

-switching from places with bright blue skies to dark caves really hurt your eyes  aiwebs_023

also, does this hack end when you reach norfair?

Caught me.  Though I hadn't realized that my design was so similar to SAC's room.  I based that idea off that room in SAC.  Always liked that hack. :)
I tried the headered version and LunarIPS gave me a warning/error message.  Tried to play it anyways and a room I needed to get through was garbled.  I'll just skip the demo and enjoy the full thing later. 
I just downloaded it and tried myself.  Worked fine for me.  Not sure why it wouldn't work for you.

Well, I got Varia, but not Boost, Grapple, or Charge Beam. Very beautiful style and good aesthetics (I wish my aesthetic sense was as good as yours.) I would go as far to say that your style is the most similar to Super Metroid, second only to Drewseph.

Some general critiques that I thought up:
-fanta skyhopper is friggin' ugly!
-cyclonia is, for a lack of a better word, "cheap." I didn't like that you re-used one tileset in 4 different palettes. I guess it's okay though.
-sanctorium is lacking in detail, I would add some new blocks to the tileset, perhaps, to spruce things up.
-bricks used outside in crateria are outlined darkly; you should change the types used outside.

Also, I never finished the last demo, so I don't quite understand how much was added to warrant a second demo. From what I have seen, all you've done is add kraid and speedbooster to the demo. But that's just me, since my emulator failed soon after I acquired varia.
