I never said anything about a dark purple suit. I said purple. light purple is pink.
look. try, like, -3 red and +2 blue for the darkest color, -5 red and +1 blue for the middle color, and -7 red for the brightest color, for the three gravity suit colors. in front of your eyes, you will see purple. and it's not dark either.

Bloodsonic's suggestion on the left, mine on the right.

While BS's is nice, I'm still leaning towards mine. His suggestion looks to me like I'd be copying Redesign's palette. I dunno, I'm going with what Hiroshi said about the varieties of colors. To me, BS's palette is too close to indigo, not purple

Yeah. I realized soon after I posted that I had my foot in my mouth. I apologize Bloodsonic. The suit on the left, IMO, is indeed purple.

First one (left) looks like my kind of purple. Too bad you won't be using it... Sad

Two things:
1. Left doesn't look that close to Redesign's,
2. Don't let what anyone says about the color your gravity suit should be influence you. I know, I might sound like your mother, but there ain't nobody here that has any real power over what it will look like. You go for what you want, FP! Don't let anyone else mess wit' yo' head!

Sounds like the same kind of story going on for me. I was talking about Blood's monitor... He's the one with the pimped brightness settings.

No, it isn't. Pink by definition is when there is a greater ammount of red to an on average equal ammount of blue and green. What he has in the sprite is an equal or nearly so ammount of red and blue to a somewhat distant ammount of green.

Also, Zhs2. I don't have a fancy, schmancy high definition moniter. I have a moniter that is probably a good 3 or 4 years old, and provides a fairly clear picture which I hope it will remain as clear for another 4 or 5 years.

Though as I said I wasn't trying to be offensive, and considering I never touch my colour/brightness on a moniter, I hadn't even considered brightness of one being a factor. I forget that many people alter their moniters like that, I apologize.

I still stand by what I said, that suit is not pink.

Is it just me that doesn't give a monkey's what colour the suit is, as long as it's not sight-destroying neon or something? Maybe I'm too relaxed, and need to get angry more often. Evil or Very Mad

Also, the longer FirePhoenix0 is fiddling with colour variations for the suits, the longer we wait for release... Crying or Very sad

So I've been lazy recently. Sue me. College life and doing other things online have led me to neglect Volta for a bit. But today I came back to it and what was the first thing I did? I mixed around some graphics sets and redid a rather boring connecting room. Now it looks great: (Dark Glowing Visor Room FX1 effect is on)

Comments anyone? I'm planning on going back through some of the old Gaia Heights rooms and making them a little nicer looking.

It IS FP's hack after all, I think we should let him focus on other aspects and let the end product speak for itself. I still think the suit looks fine, and I don't know why we're still discussing it. As for the connecting room, I think it looks very interesting. It's not just another straight-forwards tunnel, which is nice to see. It gives the room that much more ambience and immersion.

That would be great if you freshened up some of the old rooms you've completed already. Myself and DSO have done that quite a lot recently since neither of us have really felt like doing some things that we need to do to continue. So keep polishing it up! I'm really looking forward to this hack a lot.

I like the lone 1x1. It looks like it fell there sometime in the past. It gives the room a sense of age.

As I remember it, that connecting room was made epic by the sky background. Now, there is a layer2 background that is prosaic and uncreative. Also, the first room's bridge gave a sense of actually connecting two areas, as well as being more realistic in being straight. I live in Pittsburgh, and I've never seen a bridge that sloped like that. The new CRE thingy really looks more to me like a piece of the ground rather than something put there artificially to span a crevasse between two pieces of land. Natural isn't always better.

The palette is better, though.

A very good looking elevator. It is a nice contrast between your blocks and "natural" terrain.
