Grats, though its funny that the one place you mention is completely nonexistant in Soup.

Heh, I was under the impression of some offshoot hidden crumble grapple block, but didn't bother checking the area at the time.
Nope. I was going to put something there, but at the end of the game, I thought that my item totals were nice and even, so I just axed it.

2:16 33% (should have been less), infini-health used for Ridley due to impatience.

This had some nice parts, especially Tourian. The x-ray was also very cleverly done. Were wave and ice beams supposed to be collectable?

Your room design is very interesting. I hope you do a full hack sometime, as I don't think these half-hacks really let you create something as interesting as you could.
I haven't had much time to get any work done on my speed run.

I'm gonna learn to kagoball before I finish my first part because I am truly awful at it.
Really, if kagoball is the skill you have problems with, you're blessed. I'm still trying to get the green gate glitch to work right.

In other news, my laptop has, once again, decided to shit itself. So while I'm working on wiping the hardrive/reobtaining all my files/shopping for a new laptop, my access to the internet will be more limited than usual. That, and its finals week, so I won't be around as much.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked it ducknerd. The wave beam is obtainable by going back to that room after GT, and ice is... well, since I don't have my laptop, I can't give you the smv, but Sneaky's speedrun test has it. Its in the set of rooms above the grapple beam; you have to speed springball consecutively through the huge pre-grapple room.
Kagoball is my main problem for this hack. I can pull it off 90% of the time in normal SM. No idea why I can't do it with such consistency in Soup.
Hint: the speed-springball for ice beam is much easier without gravity suit. ;)

Welp, I downloaded and patched all three of your hacks, and none of them work. I get to the file select screen, and after picking one it fades to black and that's it. The music keeps playing though.
You're using a headered rom?
Phoenix
I'm using copies of the same rom I always use, and it's always worked before. So I assume it's headered. I don't know how to tell for sure.

If it matters, I patched it with IPSwin and played it with ZSNES 1.51.

Headered is 3073 KB, unheadered is 3072, pulled from the .zip archive.

I prefer Lunar IPS from FuSoYa's Niche. Most SNES 9X or ZSNES emulators work, if not all.
Phoenix
Yup, it's a headered rom. Tried Lunar IPS, still didn't work. Tried SNES9x, didn't work.
You'll need to remove the header to play cardweaver's hacks. LunarIPS has an option to remove it I think. If not, SMILE does.

So, this patch is for unheadered. I doubt that Lunar IPS has a header option. Look for "SMILE" on Jathys's site, then access it (feed it a clean, blank rom first), then access the same rom, and open a room, look into options, say "Remove header". Then patch with your favorite program. SMILE had bad patching results when I tried to feed it Redesign once.
Phoenix
Oh okay. I thought usually it usually takes headered roms. I didn't read the first post. laugh new
Yeah, I absolutely despise headers, so you won't see a patch for a headered fom come from me. They're just so pointless.

Fixed my computer btw, so I'm semi-back in business.
Phoenix
So, what's a header, and what's the difference between a headered and unheadered rom anyway, and why do you hate headers?

But then ironically, by using unheadered roms for your hacks, you make it more difficult on the player since most people are used to using the headered version for previous hacks.  :)

Yeah, but I mean why are they pointless? What's the difference? I mean, it seems to me that it hardly matters if you use headered or unheadered roms to make hacks with.
The header isn't needed for the emulator to play the game so he considers it useless (in fact I don't even think any SNES games have a header unless the ripper adds one; it just happens to be that a lot of them do).
Phoenix
Okay, but it doesn't exactly do any harm to have a header.

Whatever floats his boat I guess.
Okay. I'm gonna give up on trying to be Hotarubi.
It will be a little sloppier than I would like but at least I will get it done without pulling my hair out.

I found a couple of nice new tricks though :D
I think I've heard of headers being needed for certain patches, possibly ones that do something different with the game's memory mapping.

It's not difficult to provide patches for both headered and non-headered though... nor is it difficult to add/remove one yourself.
I am having wall jump retardation with my controller. I can do it so much better with a keyboard yet my set up requires the use of alt which I can only use on ZSNES.

Anybody have a nice control scheme for snesx?
