Before Other M, it seemed to me Adam suggested that because of how the BSL was designed, with sector 1 being a replica of SR388 just like the bottle ship became a replica of Zebes. But now, who knows? (Actually, doesn't Adam mention more or less what I just did in that scene after the Restricted Sector is destroyed in Fusion?)
I think he does, but I'd have to back and check the script.  He also says that Samus knew of the Metroid breeding program before the BSL.

she is not suprised about the metroid on fusion, she gets suprised when the computer ask her "any objections, lady?"

in fact when i played fusion for the first time, i thought it was weird, cuz she is like "shit, again?"

makes sense...
Of course, but it seems like a lot of people are remembering it differently just to put this game down/say it contradicts Fusion/Prime.

give it a year or so, ppl will be loving this game, it's aways like that...

i don't think people ended up loving mp3. in fact, the opposite happened.

oh lord, what's wrong with MP3? I enjoyed it, and I enjoyed other M, even though it wasn't exactly what I was expecting and it has where's waldo minigames.
I like turtles.
And it has Hypermode.

yeah but mp3 still had very divided opinions.

i think the only games in the series that do not have a noticeable divide are sm and mp1 because the people who don't like them are few compared to the others. just look at all the hate mp2, mp3, fusion, hunters and other m get and you see that few games have had wide acceptance overall.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

I would argue that this is in fact part of the problem.
Anywhere, everywhere
Hypermode is one of the few bad parts about mp3

That's what I meant.  Sorry if I wasn't clear.

I think the negativity toward both games is pretty exaggerated. However I can see people not liking the hypermode concept in prime 3. It still has it's moments though (while Where's Waldo? is just 100% pure annoying)

Play the game again, they take you 5 seconds.

The only Waldo moments that took me a while were
the one in Hive room and the 2 Ridley ones.  The first one because I was dumb for about a minute, and the second one because I thought I had to go out into the middle when in fact staying in first person keeps you 100% safe.
Everything else I got relatively quick.

I guess people's problem with Corruption is that all of the enemies are bullet sponges.

No, it doesn't. If
He uses fireballs at that point you can get hit. I was.

While I agree, it's still stupid and pointless, and people playing for the first time can get stumped for a while. I mean, the one outside the exam room where you had to look for a green splotch on green grass was a little ridiculous especailly when I had no idea that's what I was looking for. It's just my biggest pet peeve with the game even though it's simple the second time you do it (which is another reason why it's pointless).

I agree. The hive portion where you look for the grubs actually took me 15 minutes. Had to rely on my hearing to pinpoint the "sound of movement" by then.

They are definitely the worst implemented mechanic, but I don't think they are horrible.

They were put in to try to bridge the 4th wall and have us perform Samus' investigative skills.
The problem was they gave no direction as to what you're supposed to look for.
For example, if the troops said "If whatever did this bleeds, then we can kill it", while being subtle, it'd point you in the direction of what to look for. But more often than not they just left you hanging wondering what to do.
When you're supposed to target MB at the very end for instance.
I'm certain either everyone died once or twice at that point or accidentally found what they had to target.
I actually never knew you had to target that, I guess I just won on accident.
They could've given some kind of Visor hint system where part of the visor yellow to give you direction.
I really liked how Prime gave you subtle hints on what to do next with the scans.  But Other M, despite its linearity, is probably one of the hardest to figure out sometimes.  Remember the hallway in the Biosphere with the hologram terminal?  They gave absolutely no indication that you were supposed to bomb that little space.  If you scanned it, it wouldnt say "normal bomb like usual.  The only way I figured it out was by going right up to it after exhausting every other option and trying it.

Yes.  This.

The Metroid timeline is slowing following the Zelda timeline until it becomes such a mess that no one can decipher it.

actually the metroid story is very solid, Nintendo R&D just doesn't acknowledge Retro Studios' games as cannon.
Even though they are, because the rest of Nintendo does think of them as canon.
