quick Q: Any support for GameCube memory cards (for save transfers or early unlocks)?
No dice. It uses the Wii's own save system, not the GC I'm afraid. I can get the game to load up to just past the menu screens... (and then it resets my Wii :( )
Well, I just watched one of the videos yesterday, and this game looks pretty cool. Not very many changes in graphics except for the arm cannon and Charge Beam, but I like how they added all the extra stuff from the Japanese version of MP that we didn't get in our version, like suit voice and that stuff. And it looks like they renamed the Space Pirate Frigate to Frigate Orpheon after the SSBB stage. I don't care that I already have Metroid Prime. This looks awesome!
OK, I've had enough of reading about "backups" in this topic. I doubt anyone who's posted in this thread claiming to have the game has done the decent thing by actually paying for it.
Any further posts I see that have even the slightest whiff of piracy about them will be deleted on sight. I will not be sucked into a debate over what does and doesn't constitute talk about piracy -- any post like that will also be destroyed on sight.
The only legitimate talk about soft and hard modifications that I would be prepared to tolerate in this topic would be discussion related to getting genuine imported copies of this game to run on US and EU machines. However, since I have already seen several pieces of incorrect information about the Wii's hardware in this topic, it's pretty clear that this site is not the right place to look for data about that, either. If you want to know about how the Wii actually works, I can heartily recommend reading bushing, segher, marcan et al's amazing blog, or the wiki they have thoughtfully provided. If you want to talk about imports or piracy, you'll have to look elsewhere. No exceptions.

Now that I'm playing my Wii on an HDTV in 480p, It is very noticable if a game is lacking in the graphics department. For example, the only Wii games that look noticabely better then the last generation of consoles is MP Corruption, super mario galaxy, and super smash bros - with MP Corruption still having the best graphics on the will so far, imo. Thats why I was really happy when I watched the HD gameplay vidoes on IGN, because imo it looks like they have really enhanced the textures - no more blocky bluriness when you're close up to something in the game. If this was a simple GCN port graphics wise, it wouldn't look nearly this good.
hah, yeah you're right. dunno why i spelled it flaaghra.
No, the correct response is to edit your post, use some kinda mod power to alter the timestamp, then claim everyone who saw it a dirty, slanderous (on a textual message board?) liar.
hi everyone^^ there's a lot of info inside this topic :p i'm learning japanese since many years now, so if someone here needs a translation, give me pics and i'll do it^^ if someone could have some main menu pics that would be nice :p
if you can't read japanese, how do you know they've changed things? also, the japanese translations have always differed from the english text anyway, so naturally they're not going to match up in the wii version either. at any rate, i very much doubt they've changed the names of menu items. some rearranging may have occurred, but this is basically just a port with new controls. in nintendo's eyes, the less time and money spent on it, the better.

They changed the logbooks in the PAL, AUS, and JPU/JAP versions.
