Oh god. 28.30 with real time. I just never believe this can happen. It looks it is possible got sub 30 with real console in future. I really want see it if someone can make it.
I can,t watch smv files? Need i some special players how i can see it? I am curious see this 28.30 real time run. This might be awesome.

Check Finmetroid btw.
You need this SNESx9 emulator v1.43 (it's been a long time since I used one I might spell it wrong :D) and a Super Metroid USA or Japan game in .smc form plus the .smv-file you want to see in order to watch .smv-giles.

Download the Emulator+movie below.
1. Open the emulator and click on "File/Load Game..." and then look for the rom and open it. 2. Click on "File/Movie Play..." and then click on "Browse..." and load the .smv file.
Sorry for the bump (if this counts as one that is), but I just wanted to add my 2c about this whole hotarubi thing:
I don't claim to be a "professional" at this game. I've never finished a serious speedrun, I've never done a low percent run, and I've never finished any NBMB runs I've started (however in recent months I have managed the wall jump up to lower norfair with the power suit). However, I have TASed this game before, and looking at his 0:31 SS run, I have noticed some things that look like TASes (such as landing perfectly on platforms, mockballing extremely close to the ground, etc.). I noticed the insane amount of consistency he had, and while I'm no professional at SM, my years of highscoring SF64 have taught me that consistency is very hard to achieve, and, like many people here, I have a hard time believing that this was all done in a SS run. I agree with Smokey and Saturn - the degree of perfection is unbelievable, but there's no evidence that it isn't legitimate, so we can't say for sure.
But there is nothing that he's doing that is hard to do. Lots of players on this forum can probably do them, including the few you mention. The only difference is with his consistency, but if we put in the same hours he has, we might end up closer to his consistency. But we won't, because we're not as dedicated.
I think it would be safe to claim foul play in regards to consistency if every one of his attempts ended up this way. We've seen only four of his completed runs, and there have already been 600 failed attempts by the time he submitted the :32. That's one "consistent" attempt in 600, a success rate of ~0.2%. Some consistency right there, eh.
I know it's not impossible to do; I was actually referring to the consistency like Smokey and Saturn were.
I suppose that, with a lot of time and commitment, something like this could be done, but I find it extremely unlikely that it would happen (although as moozooh said it's much more likely in Japanese culture to put a lot of time into a video game).
Overall, I'd agree that, since there's no evidence of foul play, there isn't any reason to jump to conclusions. Of course, if he claimed a 0:29 SS, I'd be EXTREMELY suspicious, but I still think that 0:31 is (barely) within the realm of possibility.
I still think that 0:31 is (barely) within the realm of possibility.
But this could be said of any speed run. If I played a game five times, it would be unlikely that I would get a very 'perfect' run, but if I played a game five hundred times, I'd almost certainly get a much better result from at least one of those runs. This is especially true with shorter games, as I guess there are less opportunities for errors. I find it much more impressive in a longer run, where somebody has to maintain the skill level for a longer period.

Agreed. You know what would be the ULTIMATE SS run? DK64 101%.
Anyone who did THAT would become the video game GOD in my book.
I was watching hotarubi's 0:32 run on SDA today, and I noticed something very odd...
Samus's flickering in the 0:32 run (when she takes damage or goes on an elevator) is identical to her flickering on snes9x.
To prove this, I watched it side-by-side with a TAS and Smokey's 0:36 run. The TAS and Hotarubi's run had identical flickering patterns, but Smokey's console run looked like the flickering on a console.
So what does this mean? I think now, more than ever, that Hotarubi's run may have been emulated. I can't say for sure (I don't know if it's a framerate issue or whatever), but I think this is something we need to have a look at. I do remember hero of the day saying that snes9x has "flickering issues" that make it easy to spot an emulated run...
Im not believe Hotarubi SDA run is emulated. As far as i know you need VOB file to send SDA. And if run is emulated you automatically have AVI file. SDA not allow send AVI file because AVI framerate is wrong.
Nate told this for me some months ago, because once i´ll trying send AVI file to Nate, because it is much easier and faster to send than HQ VOB file. But SDA requires vob files and as far as i can tell you can,t translate AVI to VOB.
Hard to say is his new 0.31 emulated run, because its not are up on SDA. But i am 99% sure his 0.32 is done with real console.
That won't really prove anything. The timing of the flickering can often be completely out of sync with something else. For example, there are numerous videos online where it looks like Samus completely disappears when she takes damage, simply due to when the frames occur during its recording.
To prove this, I watched it side-by-side with a TAS and Smokey's 0:36 run. The TAS and Hotarubi's run had identical flickering patterns, but Smokey's console run looked like the flickering on a console.
Smokey's run wasn't captured at 60 fps, so the flickering will naturally look different.
Also, the flickering issue hero was talking about is the first scanline of the game screen below the menu. Load the game in Snes9x v1.43 and you'll see this. v1.51 doesn't have this issue.
Noobs, When damaged or taking an elevator ride, Samus will 'blink' or dissappear and re-appear every other frame. This is part of the dam game, when captured at the wrong frame rate, or lags, it will seem Samus dissappears completely.
You actually can transfer an AVI file to VOB and degrade the emulator-enhanced quality enough to make it look like a console.
And when I talked about the flickering I was referring to the consistency of the flickers... on Smokey's run the flickering happened in a consistent pattern like it does on a console (each flicker the same length as the last) but on an emu the flickering happens randomly, with no pattern (like in hotarubi's run), and looks really choppy and screwed up. Red Scarlet's 100% run also flickers in a pattern like on a console. Besides, SDA is really picky about quality, so I kind of doubt it's just a "wrong framerate".
We need to get Smokey or Red Scarlet in here and see what they think about this.
No, what we really need is for you to stop pulling things like this out of your ass without checking what you just said.
Win.
So did you like, not pay attention to what I said earlier?

Try actually READING my posts before you flame me next time. Dick.
Also, the reason the flickering looked weird is because I had the mp4 of it. I downloaded the DivX AVI of the 0:32, and it looks fine now. Not sure what was up with that mp4. Probably a framerate issue like I said.
Try actually CHECKING your own suspicions before you say them out loud to avoid making a fool out of yourself. It's not rocket science. If you were onto something suspicious, it would be fine, but not bothering to do simpliest things before you make a conspiracy theory is insulting both to the runner in question and SDA verifiers.
