Metroid Prime, what else?

are you trying to steal my translation job :D

the status menu pic is on page 4, with its translation  (if  that's what you're looking for)

Actually no, though I do appreciate the inventory translation. I meant the Options/Controls screen and the katakana sheet US was talking about so I can try to change my controls.

I don't want to steal your translation job. I know not a spec of any Asian language. . . so have at it!

lol I was joking xD

EDIT i don't think it's important, but just in case:
1st pic: items listed: "world","biology","samus","extra"
2nd pic: you said it, screenshot tool and fusion suit (in that order)
3rd: soundtrack gallery: "title","VS parasite queen","planet tallon IV","track 4","chozo ruins","VS Flaahgra","lava caves (magmoor)"
the sentence says  scroll the list with the nunchaku's control stick (lol)

EDIT2: i was rechecking the first pic when i realized that i mistook the "shi" caracter for a "tsu" xD so now i understand why it has to do with suits (the tsu and the shi a very very very close and with MP's font the curve gets squeezed at the bottom)

I'm guessing that's elevator room music from the chronology of the music tracks listed.

hm i don't know why track 4 wasn't unlocked at that point. it is the music you hear in the room with the chozo statue and 3 bomb slots after beating the ghosts.

btw, i beat the game in veteran difficulty now and i can safely say that this version's veteran difficulty is the same as the gc version's normal mode. i pulled off the fast OP strat since he didn't flinch with 1 shot and super missiles no longer OHKOed chozo ghosts (they died like in the gc version).
for all intents and purposes, normal is really easy mode for people who are new to gaming but there's not much difference with veteran since other bosses like ridley and mp's final form took about the same amount of shots to die. this difficulty will surely represent another gain on the gc version time-wise though.

also, i got the remaining scans and the last gray token. there's no more stuff to unlock atm. i'll beat hard mode 100% just to be sure soon.

edit: btw, here's more pics of other things:

this is how the art galleries look now.

here's the rest of the sound menu.

i don't know what some of the options in these 2 menus do.
weird that they wrote supeesu paireetsu instead of uchuu kaizoku on the bgm tracklist. wonder if it was like that on the original soundtrack.

(checks ...)

yep. wow. guess metroid has been a western thing since 2002. (space pirates were still uchuu kaizoku in the super metroid manual. would be interesting to check the fusion manual, actually ...)

look no further than the guy who scanned the entire japanese fusion manual.

uchuu kaizoku. wow. guess it's just prime then, maybe because it was developed in the us. thanks.

AMERICA!  FUCK YEAH!

My sis and her friends were watching that earlier.  Maybe I should pop it in so I know where all these snippets are sauced...

Anyway, spurred back by the IGN topic, is there an option to turn off the TOKEN GET mesages?  Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but a popup telling you you did something that you're probably telling yourself anyway seems kinda jarring to any kind of narrative/experiential flow.

thanks for the pics :p

well here is a translation: 1st pic (controls): "camera response precision", "lock-on frame","vibration function","beam/jump shitfting","visor/beam select shifting","default"
2nd pic (display): "brightness","frame shaking","hint system","bonus credit display" (youre happy now TJF588 :D)

@nate: in fact, nowadays, young japanese people prefer to use english terms, it's more "fun" and more attractive. for example, they'd use "senta"(center) instead of "chûshin". It might be the same here, with "speesu paireetsu" instead of "uchû kaizoku" ;)
[noembed][url=[/noembed] is a comparison video showing the two versions (using IGN's videos, which are presumably of the retail releases).  Timing the Overworld->Ruins elevator shows it to be 3-4 seconds faster on Wii.

The MdB user who purchased the game notes that there is a Hunter Metroid in Frost Cave.  Which we expect for the NA and JPN versions but not PAL.

Internally "Track 4" is known as "Chozo Bowling" link

To extend to the ridiculous: what were the Space Pirates called in Zero Mission / Hunters / Pinball?

there aren't any pirates in hunters xD

iirc, yes. it seems normal to me to see it there so it must have been there. changed stuff is what jumps out the most.

on load times, i think they're actually different everywhere. there's some rooms that take longer now and others take less. i think individual timing must be done in every long-loading room.

thanks. lol now i see why the last token didn't give me a message when i got it. i thought HUD lag was still there under hint system (i turned it off since it became annoying)
btw, what does HUD lag actually do? i never noticed.
Metroid Prime, what else?
if you're talking about the same functionality as in the original game (ive got french game and it's called "viseur tête haute"), well it's when you jump or turn around(can't remember which): depending on that option, the helmet(the black part of the visor at the top and at the bottom) moves or stays fixed. have a go at it^^ (i can't play mp right now)
that is the only difference i noticed and it's pretty... useless xD
Any time the screen moves, expect for walking forward or backward, the HUD will lag slightly behind the movement, giving the feeling that he HUD is floating and separate from the camera. Turn the option off and the HUD remains glued.

i took pics of the save file

also, just like in mp3, when you beat the game, the game sends a pic of the clear time to the wii message board.

Does it also limit cutscene skipping to individual files with a cleared difficulty?  That shit pissed me off to no fucking end; I feel like I should make the few hour drive down to Retro and picket in front of their building over it.
That only happened to me after I formatted my memory card :\.
Quote from Baby Sheegoth:

I was referring to how Corruption does that.  The very notion of cutscene skipping being a reward angers me, but the way MP3 did things makes my blood boil.  You have to earn the right to hit fast forward, and then continuously play the same file over and over to keep that right, and the damn feature doesn't even work for the first two seconds of every goddamn scene.  It's total bullshit!  I don't give a flying fuck that you can copy the file, I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT IN THE FIRST FUCKING PLACE!  Besides, that limits me to two save files, and I only have three.

Why the fuck you only get three when the Wii's internal memory could support probably a hundred times that amount of saves is another story.
To make it  bit less confusing? I agree.
But cutscene skipping worked for me in the original metroid prime until i formatted my card.

Cutscenes are more mainstream.

Why give the option to skip them when the 8-year-old could accidentally mash some buttons on the Wiimote and skip a vital plot point he doesn't care about?
Who.... Cares...

Because you can always make them confirm that choice, as in Final Fantasy 12 and .hack//G.U..

The point of my post, which I guess was lost because I went berserk, was to ask whether this new version of Prime 1 retains the same cutscene skip functionality of the GC original or if it switched to the Corrupted method.  I wasn't going to buy Prime 1 again anyway, but I do plan on getting Echoes, and this would make me reconsider.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

Vital plot point? In a Metroid game? What kinda whacked out version of the series have you been playing?

Hell, Prime's plot is told exclusively through scans anyway as I recall. You wouldn't exactly miss much.

Unskippable cutscenes should be punishable by death.
We magi are a slippery folk...
My last post was a joke, everyone. Don't worry.

As far as I can tell, the cutscenes are Corrupted. However, I have not finished and replayed, so they may be permanently unskippable.

Sorry.

hm i have replayed the same file so far but when i copied my original file and played again some parts of it, cutscenes weren't skippable. seems that it is locked to individual files and not like in the gc version.
you could work around it and copy your first cleared save to all 3 slots and then play the game from those saves.
