I have to say it looks a lot more like a Phazon-corrupted power suit than an actual organism made of Phazon. And we already know the corrupted power suit will play a big part in the game.
That random forumgoer at SCU happened to be me. Much like Rox, I thought that that image just could not be of the archetypical being of pure Phazon. But then other forum people attacked my weakpoint for massive damage, saying that the image officially is of Dark Samus. (If anyone can find an official linking of the two, speak up!) Whether it is Dark Samus or "Dark" Samus, that image is pretty neat.
If you take the fact sheet and look at the document properties, you will see that it was authored by Kevin F. Sherry of GolinHarris. You might be interested to know that he also is known as the bad sweater guy (here's proof), and that he also appeared in the movie Swordfish. The more you know.
1. You can lock on. In multiplayer. Suckage. 2. Samus vs. Samus vs. Samus vs. Samus 3. Beam Ammo was limited, and whoever grabbed the good weapons first won automatically by spawn killing. 4. Dark Beam + Missiles = stupid.
who knows how much less prime 2 would have sucked without the multiplayer.
And you call yourself a Metroid fan.
even if you like a series, you are still free to dislike some of the games in it.
for example, i'm an F-Zero fan but i dislike GX a lot. imo it screwed up a lot of the things that made the earlier games good. a different developer that cared more would have done a better job imo.
I wasn't refering to how he said the Multiplayer blew (it does), I was talking about how Nate refered to the entire game in general as a black hole of suckage. It isn't, I don't see why everyone hates it.
it's not so much that it sucks, it's that prime 1 is a way better game.
and considering how even though they made it up to be harder than the first (and it was for the first run through), and it was made up to be a better game, that only increases the suckiness of MP2.
Heh, no matter the fact that I get to be the Echoes defender around here, I did think Echoes was missing a special indefiniable quality that Prime had. Prime was just... magical, one of those games that you simply can't just be good enough to make; you have to have lucky things happen too.

That doesn't make any sense. A "Metroid fan" would most likely not be all for Metroid multiplayer, as that's not what the series has been about all along - Metroid has always been about the single player mode, until now.
Wasn't calling myself a "truer" Metroid fan. Was simply stating that, up until Echoes, all Metroid fans were Metroid single-player fans, as there was no multiplayer mode.

I said it before, I was talking about how he hates MP2. The multiplayer sucks and should never be on a Metroid game... MPH on the other hand was made for Multiplayer, but it was a spinoff.
The game didn't suck. It just missed that "feeling" that i can't describe what it is. Metroid Prime and MPH have it, along with SM and ZM and the original (Fusion seemed to be missing a bit of it IMO). (i havent played M2) Maybe they forgot to spread pixie dust inside the MP2 case?
Echoes doesn't suck... it was just a let down after Prime. They had some nice ideas, they just didn't work as well for me as the first game did. And the beam ammo system was a mistake of epic proportions. I would probably enjoy the game a lot more without that.

I agree completely with everything you just said. Echoes, like Fusion, is certainly not a terrible game in and of itself, but when you compare it to its predecessors, it falls very short of what a Metroid game should be.

Fixed.
And yes, that feeling of yours makes you a horrible person. =;
Yeah, I believe that Dark Samus pic is really just Phazon-corrupted Samus. I mean, she has shoes - not feet - and pointy knee things, just like Samus in power suit.
