red chamber dream
Quote from USBCD36:
In school, you can no longer…
•Say the pledge of allegiance, since the atheists are offended by "under god"
•Have a Valentines Day party, since St. Valentine's Day was originally a Christian holiday (though for the most part, no longer)
•Celebrate Halloween, because the celebration is of All Saints Day eve, a Christian holiday (plus, some people don't like the fact it originated from a Pagan celebration)
•Have books assigned if there is a religious or controversial aspect to them (such as the mother of all: the Da Vinci Code, which contains very controversial religious ideas) This one really upsets me because the schools have to filter out all these books, which also eliminates the good ones. Being someone who loves to read, this is a big blow.

Uh, what? Do you even go to school? We, at least around here (Maryland) can do each and every one of those things at school. Though, I actually personally choose not to say the pledge every day.
