I like turtles.
I actually liked Crocomire.  Well, not so much the distance as the fact that he was easy to learn.  Of course, I haven't even tried shinesparking into him.  Apparently you can do that if you kill Kraid and get the Speed Booster before killing Crocomire.  But I can't imagine attempting Kraid without High Jump Boots.  Confrontation!Kraid is easily the hardest incarnation of the boss (an interesting inversion, since Crocomire and Ridley are actually easier here).

I attempted it. Almost did it. Last second death. Ugh. Anyway, I know this is a silly question, but how exactly is confrontation related to am2r? Is it just a smaller game built with the engine, as a demo, or what?
Pretty much what you just said, it's a small game built with the engine for demo purposes.

Maybe sometime after AM2R is released, DocM64 will consider making a few more bosses and make a full game out of confrontation.

lol no way
The first thing I did with this was like try for ten minutes in the landing zone to get to the area with the fuel cell, in the upper right, by walljumping up and out the one tile before going back to the wall to jump again up to the door. This isn't doable in ZM either but the physics are obviously different enough, it still seems doable. This was before I had any items, and when I had bombs and went up there I was so glad that rusty instinct I have to just move on in a new incarnation of metroid kicked in for me.
Also I think Kraid is just fantastic. The animations are really stiff for sure, and you never see his face at all, but the difficulty of the battle and just his layout for the platforms is really fantastic and difficult. I could go on. I wish this was a nintendo-produced project with a full team that could embody his vision.

I did the Kraid thing, It's easy you have to position your jump and the one-wall jump the block hanging out. But the harder part is kraid.
The wandering Space Dragon
Getting to him is easy, yeah. Did you manage to beat him pre-crocomire?
Yoshi is back
I don't remember, last time I did it was a year ago when I was hacking a one room.
The wandering Space Dragon
Oh. Well anyway, I do love the engine. And if the Doc still checks this once in a while, keep up the excellent work, and I look forward to AM2R
Yoshi is back
Yeah, Confrontation is the one with Ridley. I forgot on that, Look forward to both of them they are both awesome.

Awesome.

Lol. I started plaing this, got to the room on the way to Kraid that normally requires both Hi-Jump and Power Grip, figured it won't do, and backtracked, only to hit another room that required the Power Grip. Didn't bother getting the Grip and walljumped to Crocomire. :P Seems it's not possible to reach Kraid without Power Grip, so had to get that one too. Bleh. Didn't beat Kraid and now I'm back at the save area after Crocomire.

Went to Crocomire with 1 Energy Tank, 15 Missiles and MB + Bombs.

EDIT: Just completed Ridley first, then Kraid and finally Crocomire. Kraid isn't hard without High-Jump, just slow. Wanted S-Missiles for Crocomire, so did Ridley first. In the end, I had to fight Kraid with no Energy Tanks, and using Missiles without Hi-jump is prettymuch no-no.
