Are you going to get Corruption at Launch?
Definitely! (26)
Most likely (13)
Probably not (3)
Going to wait a while before getting it (4)
Depends on when the Wii launch is (3)
Depends on the cost of Wii, games, etc... (8)
I'm just curious mainly, and because it'll be helpful to know who will be there at the dawn of a new Metroid game. (You know, those of us who will have the first crack at speed running and sequence breaking the game, after playing it a few times normally?)

I've been saving money for a few months now, trying to get enough for the Wii, Metroid, Zelda, and anything extra. At this point, I'm pretty much set on what I know I want for the Wii, so I will definitely be getting Corruption at the launch. (Now we just need to know when that is...)
Thread title:
The only way I'd be able to get a Wii is if I get it as a christmas gift from my parents. But if I get a Wii, I would definately try to get this game asap.
poll contains no "no, because I live in Europe and Nintendo will release the console six years after everyone else gets it, yet again" option.
definitely.

So I guess that would be a "Going to wait a while before getting it" right? Wink

I'd add in a new option for people who can't get it at launch, but I can't edit the poll.

Ready and willing.
I'm almost obligated to. :P

I'm definitely getting a Wii ASAP though 'cause my Gamecube's starting to die. I've been getting occasional read errors (never more than a minute or so after I start the game, so I'm never losing actual progress).

It's a conspiracy! Ooooweeeooo!
Ouch: Sounds like your Gamecube's been through quite a bit if it's doing that constantly.

Lucky for me, the only time my family has ever had to replace a system was when I accidently dropped that old bulky power plug on our original NES. (I guess it hit pretty hard, or else it just happened to hit in precisely the wrong spot or something.) It was never the same again after that, which led us to get one of those redesigned ones. Our SNES and N64 have their share of problems, but they still run good enough to play games on. I may just lose save data or a lot of time depending on when things decide go wrong.

Anyway, it's good to see that the majority of voters plan on getting a Wii and Corruption as soon as we can, or in the few months after the launch date. At least this way we can bounce ideas off of one another or have others check to see if they can recreate something we've found. (Which is why I loved that Echoes wiki by the way. 8-))

I'll probably be waiting 'til next year...the holidays are coming...  :O

Zelda is at the top of my priority list, but I will certainly be getting Corruption as soon as possible. I don't see the point in playing two new games at once, though, but I might choose Corruption over TP for the sole reason of keeping up with the community here. I already made that mistake once with Hunters; though, the lack of a DS was what put me in that situation.

So, shouldn't you be getting it this year, because the holidays are coming?

Haha, sure...I might get lucky...but I can't afford splurging on myself at the moment...  ;)

why can't Wii launch come sooner??

my GC is much worse than Yoshi's GC. mine gives me "no disc" errors EVERY TIME i boot it since like 1 month ago. it's annoying. i have to sit and open/close the lid like 20 times sometimes to get the thing to read a game. i have to use SSBM as the "reviving" disc since the GC reads that one easier than others. funny how sometimes after reviving, i put the game i want to play and it goes "no disc" again. with mp1, it crashed every time i used the chozo elevator of random crashes.

the worst part of all is that this is my 2nd GC. the first one died out of the same thing in mid 2003 and i had to buy the current one. no way i'm going to buy another one now so the thing has to last until the Wii launches. too bad for the Game Boy Player if the GC dies.
Definitely!
what a question...  Wink
If I don't, I'll have to cut myself repeately for being goddamn stupid.

So, I hope I do, yes!
I'm getting it at launch, which will probably be next year thanks to the international date line or something. (I'd like to see you come up with a better reason for new consoles taking months to get to Australia and other miscellaneous territories after NA/JP launch.)

If your reaction to self-stupidity is cutting yourself, I foresee a never-ending vicious cycle.

Hopefully there will be some sort of Wii GB Player.

I doubt it. It could have a ds player of some sort though. Then again, since the ds can play gba games...

Why do you doubt that, seeing how popular the Game Boy Player currently is? Some people might not have been interested in previous consoles but will buy the Wii and would probably love to play their old original Game Boy games on it. Makes perfect sense to me.

Just since it's not the current handheld. I really would like one, though. I just think it might not happen.

It wasn't the current handheld when the GameCube was out, either. It was to play classic GB games that one might still love.

I'm pretty sure that's wrong. (Well, perhaps not technically, since you said when the GC came out. But I'm certain it was out when the Player came out.)

Wait, huh? What's the "it" you're referring to? All I was saying was that the original GB was not the current handheld when the GCN was out (the GBA was). I thought rekameohs was talking about the original Game Boy not being the current handheld, but now I see that he probably meant any version of the Game Boy (as he's saying the DS is the current handheld).
My point stands, though: a new GBP would sell, even though the the GB(A) is not the current handheld, as it has sold in the past (with the GB not being the current handheld). Of course, DS games would probably be playable on it, so that's all the better.
