Mine would be when I was playing Metroid 1 on MZM. I killed all the Zebetites but when I was at Mother Brain I had low health because I was being a bit careless. I then died after firing a few missles. Out of frusturation I forgot to save my password. I had nearly everthing, and the last time I died was early on in Norfair. I haven't ever beat Metroid 1 legimetly (sp?), meaning no NARPAS SWORD, game genie, emulators, or junk like that. I have only  tried to beat the game once since then and I didn't suceed (stupid brothers overwrote my password).

Oh, I've kicked my younger brother several times. Does that count?

Sure, why not? anyway, mine was probably doing Early Wild in MP and falling down, like, 10 times. Some were retarded too. I just flew off and never hit an Oculus. Then, after the 11-13 time, I finally got it and beat the chozo ghosts,  got the artifact, and got killed by those motherflickerbating flickerbats in Magmoor with like 25 health left, right before the save station. Did it over again and saved. ~phew~
EDIT: Because of my cool sig, the edit data on the bottom moves too! ^_^ (1337 HTMLr)
There was the time I missed the missile expansion right before Speed Booster on my would-be 100% Super Metroid run.

Obviously, I knew I had missed it before the game ended, as my missiles were 5 short, but I really didn't want to spend time looking since I didn't have much of a clue where it would have been.

That's what I get for trying to be all cool and show off some tricks to my friends.

Oh, and anyone who wants is free to kick my sister.
The 2nd of 4 tries to beat Omega Pirate on Hard Mode, I was down at like no health and had to just hit him once more, but was shot down before I could find him for a shot!

Also, I kick myself for wasting brain bites ever playing Metroid Zero Mission O_o
I've been working a horrible SS 100% Super Metroid run lately, and I was making good time for my second attempt (well, good for me.  I'm not terribly good at speed running), and while I was running through Maridia, I felt like I forgot something.  Since I couldn't place exactly where I missed it, I just continued on the route and ended up with 99%.  It's been about 4 days and I still have no clue where I missed that super missile.  It's taken the will to play out of me over the past few days, because I know that if I don't recognize which one I missed, I'm liable to do it again.
Have you checked any maps to give you an idea?  (probably a dumb question but... yeah)

Oh, and for the love of me, I can't get 100% scans in MP1.  I always forget one stupid thing, and it's never the same one.

That and I STILL haven't beaten OP on hard (granted, I haven't tried in a long time...)

And I call myself a metroid gamer... *shakes head*
Yeah, I've even watched 2 different 100% runs since to see if I could recognize which one I missed, and I'm completely baffled still.  I'm probably going to switch routes though, so I suppose it's not a huge deal now, as long as I don't forget it in the next run I try.
Too many fangirls to count
When my sister kicked my SNES when I was doing a would be 1:05 run and erased all of the data. I had her crying for 2 weeks straight.

Yes. This plagues me to the point where I don't even bother trying now.

Just get a guide form the internet that tells you all the Logbook Scans and follow it completely.
I think the issue is more along the lines of him forgetting to scan flag's tenticals or the war wasps or teh mecha hive.
I kicked myself when it took me nearly 100 tries to beat ridley my  first time through the game. I had 10 super missiles, and maybe 40 missiles.
and luck! can't forget about that. except that it was kinda. . . bad luck...
everybody knows it's true
Taking me about 10 minutes of precious time to realize that I only had to bomb the slot after spinning the spinners to get the Screw Attack on MP2
When I had problems defeating Ridley in Fushion.    Rolling Eyes

I mean come on!  You just have to figgin' hit the friggin' button one friggen' hundred times!  It took me hours to send him to hell.  But oh, he went...  Twisted Evil
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
You only have to press the button a hundred times if you're using missiles.  Try using Charge Beams.  Goes much faster. :)
I wanted to kick myself in MP1 after scanning Ridley, then he killes me, then I completely forgot about scanning him the second time when i killed him Evil or Very Mad

Heh...yeah that's happened to me before on a few bosses. Not fun.
Knowing that I've missed exactly 1 scan in Echoes so far... Boost Guardian. I got so mad after dying 9 times I didn't bother my ass scanning.

The time I most wanted to kick myself was in mzm.  I went into Ridley before Kraid just for fun, I saved, and THEN I realized I had no clue on how to get out without the speed booster.
I killed the finally Boost Guardian without scanning it and I was  :x  and  :D at the same time!

Because, in case you didn't know, this site has EVERYTHING on it.

I erased my game before I remembered that.  Then I really WAS kicking myself.
I want to kick myself for taking almost half an hour to find the kinetec(Spelling?) orb cannon in the GMFC compound on Echoes.
Honestly, who would have noticed the hole in the side of the ship?

Yeah, that gave me a little trouble the first time through.

By the way, you don't really need the spoiler tag there, but I guess you can if you want.
Lessee... the time I most wanted to kick myself... basically involves Metroid 1.  For the longest time (I'm talking many years here), in order to get to a certain door in Norfair, there was a large wall in the way, with a small gap at the top.  Ever since several months ago, I always froze a dessgeega there, bombed off of him into that gap, then got across (to be followed usually be falling down the invisible floor, making all of my efforts in vain).  That freezing-bombing was hell.

So anytime I wanted to venture into that area, I had to go through that hell.  Then a few months ago, I read on some FAQ thing somewhere (I was bored and reading crap at work), I discover that there's a tunnel UNDERNEATH that wall.  I could have bypassed all of that hell years ago.

And so, at approximately that time, I was kicking myself :P
