I accidentally missed the scans of Ridley in MP once & didn't remember it until I saved down in the crater... Annoying.
Ouch. But that's not as bad as realizing that you forgot flaahgra tenticle in the impact crater. Or maybe it is. Anyway, why the hell is flaahgra's tenticle a separate creature? And why is the hive mecha a creature at all? And why does it have a special type of war wasp that you can't find anywhere else? The pain it's caused me...
Yeah all of those have happened to me too :( Stupid one-timers :)
The most annoying thing is the Ice shriek bat.
Launching a beam instead of a missle when you need one more shot to kill the charge beam beast. Very Annoying, indeed. :(

Especially during a speedrun on hard difficulty.
Mine would be getting PBs early, going into the mines backward, and being killed by ONE pirate. It was in the room with the movable morphball track. gah.

I managed to miss the 2 one time scan wasps in prime, I had everything else!
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Too many times to count.
Getting up the Sun Chamber to get Artifact of Wild without the Super Missile.  I fell off the gate the first two times I got on it after bombing for hours.
Doing a single segment run in fusion, and dying on the omega metroid while it's pink.
Cook of the Sea
Of course, dieing on the Core-X after beating any hard boss in Fusion is a pain.  Oh, man, I love the effect when the Beam-type Core-X comes out of the Plasma-beam Plant-thing.  That crazy music!
First time playing Metroid (NES) many, many, many, many years ago and finally fighting metroids on my way to mother brain. I had the wavebeam, and it was tough as nails to get through all those 'troids, even while using missles. So, I thought there must obviously be yet another weapon to get that will really wipe those things out.

I go out and start exploring more and come to room that looks very familiar, but there is a powerup on the statue. I get it and it's the ice beam, again! At first I get real mad, cause now I lost the wavebeam and have downgraded to the ice beam which only freezes stuff.

Wait a minute!

I head back and proceed to kick metroid butt all over the place. I was kicking myself for ever letting the ice beam go away in the first place.

Spudd
First time through Metroid Prime, there were so many jumping "puzzles" I couldn't figure out: pirate frigate, monitor workstation, etc. And they were so obvious too! I got better though so :D
Doing a normal 9% run on MZM, I skipped the acid worm by habit, and then realized my mistake after I defeated Kraid later. I'd already defeated Ridley and I hadn't saved at all during this run...

EDIT: Just now during an any% speed run, I realized I skipped the high jump while on my way to Kraid...and I'd been going for a single segment run again.
On my first MZM run, I totally missed the screw attack. I just found the missile block under the platform and left Norfair. I kept thinking I'd find it eventually, and then I beat the game.  Rolling Eyes
Let's see... my latest kick was when I was at the end of an MZM 100% run and I forgot to get that Chozodia SM tank in the maze with all the Zoomers. Reset!

Or that time when I got stuck after Ridley in Super Metroid, moved to a different house, lost my SNES, found it five years later, and finally managed to get back out.

But, probably my worst Metroid moment was when I tried to get those Right Ridley missile tanks in MZM without knowing how to recharge the Shinespark... sob...
PAGE BREAKER
Ready and willing.

What, you just have to run back through the acid... heh.  Wink
I was playing Fusion when I turned off my GBA without saving and I hit my head (Lightly) with my GBA and broke it (My GBA, not my head, mind you).
(user is banned)
i thought mzm was so easy so i didnt save for 2 hrs and died
I was playing NES metroid and had perfect health going into tourian, when the first metroid killed me! I couldn't get past the metroids anymore because of the stupid 30 health thing.  Evil or Very Mad
lvl 28 Magic Leper
Well mine would be killing Metroid Prime then realizing I forgot to scan Hive Mecha.
red chamber dream
Mine is of course forgetting scans, but way back when it was finally beating Meta-Ridley on Hard Mode and dying in the Impact Crater without saving. He was soo hard to beat too..I don't even see what's so hard about him now, though.
Probably when I was playing around in my speed run game, and was just doddling around, and then accidently saved :(
Dammit, I broke one of my controllers for my GCN recently. Oh well, it was the purple one, which I was never fond of (Wavebird kicks major ass).
