Quote from Mr Potter:
EDIT: "Flickerball" is now the official name for the glitch. It's apparently better than "infinite speed bug".
Besides, it was foolish on my part to think that I had to come up with a name that covered the general effects of the bug when I've never gone out of my way like that before. I named it infinite speed because it appeared as though Samus was continuously accelerating at an unchecked rate, to the point that the game glitched. That name works not only for this bug, but for Prime's boost ball build-up bug as well (and they have a common root, it's just whether you rotate or boost that determines what effect you get). Flickerball, by DJ's original intent, only described how he thought his capture card perceived the process; in the end, it's really no better than infinite speed, and unlike IS, it has no further backing. The boost ball build-up could still be called infinite speed and the name would make sense (since you really can build up speed to no end, even enough to... well, I'll say it if I ever confirm it), so with their common ground, you may as well put them under one roof.
So yeah; infinite speed for me. If you don't want to change it, that's fine, I'm just letting my final thoughts be heard. And now I'm off to bed, like I should've been when I first posted in response to the flickerball or infinite speed query. >_>
EDIT: This is on a new page? Beautiful. Just beautiful. -_-
