My Best Times with Lowest %:

Metroid: Unknown (15:00)
MZM: 00:50 (12%)
Prime: 02:10 (27%)
Echoes: 03:23 (22%)
ROS: Unknown (15:00)
Super: 01:00 (27%)
Fusion:01:28 (03%)

Err... Metroid and ROS never record the percentage of items, so I have no idea how many I collect in those two.

My TMT lowest % would be: 47:42

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Best Times with 100%:

Metroid: Unknown (20:00)
MZM: 01:44
Prime: 02:59
Echoes: Unknown (15:00)
ROS: Unknown (20:00)
Super:Unknown (15:00)
Fusion: Unknown (15:00)

I doubt that I've done 100% in Metroid and ROS. I Know I have in the rest but never recorded times/specifically did them as 100% runs.

So, with this in mind, my 100% TMT would be: 89:43

(OUCH: I need to improve this one a bit)

Why would she NEED 00:00 if she could easily lower other times? :P

Oops, I forgot all about ZM and I tried playing it yesterday! lol

Umm, I doubt my 15% hard was faster, so 1:04:44 is my fastest ZM time probably (and it's 100%).

I did manage to cut my Metroid 2 from 1:21 to a 1:19 a couple times.

Ark: yep, the fastest I've beaten SM at all is :55.  The closest to any% I've done was when I couldn't find 100% in 1994 and my NBMB stuff.  Aside from the NBMB, ever since I found 100% in 1994 that is all I'd do.

But, you still get an update by moi. Can't believe I missed that  Embarassed .
Mr. Aran You relize that 100% for all the games is totaly insane if not time consuming. I'm not doing it. It took me 12 hours just to get 100% on prime for the first time.
everybody knows it's true
That's why you should take advantage of Metroid Prime's Replayabiility!  :P
Quote from TMT leaderboard @ m2k2:
5. Silent ((((Echo)))) - 11:59
6. Red Scarlet - 14:39 (Never Mind)
7. MonsterERB - 14:13
8. Razorflame - 15:05

Hmm... anyone else see something screwy?  Wink
...
You'll have to excuse me; this is quite likely the only Metroid-related thing at which I can beat Scarlet.  :P  Actually, considering that most of her runs are 100%, and none of mine are, she should be ahead of me on the board.  I mean, what shows more skill in MZM, my 0:57 any% or her 1:04 100%?  My Prime 1:58 any%, or her 1:59 100%?
...
If I were to try to determine a "100% TMT" for myself, it would look something like this:
M1 - 20:00
MZM - 20:00
Prime 1 - 3:28
Prime 2 -  ~11:30
M2:RoS - 20:00
Super - 20:00
Fusion - ~ 6:30
(Note to Mr. Aran; these are approx. times.  Don't post them, please.  If I decide to enter the 100% TMT board, I'll let you know.)
...
If I had enough time to go home and play all those "20:00" games right now, for 100%, I could probably get 1:30 in M1, 2:00 for MZM, 1:40 for M2, and 2:00 for Super.  Waaay behind RS's times.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Ok so right now I am at

Metroid: 00:29
(100%) Zero Mission: 1:04
(100%) Metroid 2: 1:19
(100%) Super Metroid: 00:55
Metroid Fusion: 5:06
(100%) Metroid Prime: 1:59
(100%) Metroid Prime 2: 3:47

14:39 TMT

If you were to make them 100%'s, then Metroid 1 would be 00:56;
making my 100% time 15:06, except I don't have one for Fusion at this time.  Maybe I'll get around to it after Christmas.

I shouldn't be ahead of Monsterb though, because it is Total Metroid Time, going for as fast as you can.  100% wouldn't matter.  That's what a separate category (if it is implemented) is for for me to 'shine' at a higher placement than Monsterb.

I just need to get a 03:37 100% on Fusion to get that 13:37 again.

"Monster B" conjures up a whole lot of possiblities I don't want to consider.  Shocked  Laughing  "Monster" is for Gossamer, aka the Hairy Orange Monster you see in my sigs & avvies.  (Gossamer >>> you.)  The "ERB" is my initials.  When I was signing up many years back for a Yahoo! account, "Monster" wasn't available (big surprise).  Adding my initials did the trick.

And, RS, I guess you just have the "completist" mindset.  When I'm playing a game, I just try to finish it the first time.  Second/third playthroughs are to get 100% items/scans/goodies/etc.  After that, I really don't feel the need to grab all the missiles/etanks/etc that I'll never end up using.  Some people, obviously, prefer to grab everything available when speed running.  I myself just try to grab what I'll need.  100% runs have never been my forte.
...
PS - you should DEFNITELY go for the 13:37 TMT.  Mr. Aran would be forced to leave you atop the leaderboard for all eternity. Wink
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Well, I don't go for 100% the first time, it's just with Super, I got around 95% after a couple replays, then the last items bugged the crap out of me..I got 98 and 99% a number of times until I found the very last item, then got it out of 'spite' each time and thought I was awesome for finding all 100%.

It just became habit with my bi-yearly replays to go for 100% each time; to see if I still remembered it all or not.  And also due to that I have no idea what I need and don't need in most of the games, except the first one.  I need them all I guess!

lol "you monster b".  I will try to add the extra 'er' there.
Nah.  Just call me Monster.  Or, Merb, MERB, etc.  Hardly anyone at SCU uses my whole "MonsterERB" nickname.  Wink

Just so this post is remotely on topic, I'll say that while my placement on the board may make it look like I'm a great Metroid player, it has much more to do with the fact that I own all 7 games.  The Metroid 1, Prime, and Super runs I put a fair amount of effort into.  MZM and Fusion I've done "so-so" runs where I try to avoid mistakes, and get decent (not good) segments in.  Echoes and M2:RoS could both be much faster.
...
Basically, I'm trying to say that anyone with all 7 games, a fair amount of time, and average hand-eye coordination could turn in a sub-15:00 TMT without too much trouble at all.  Now, a sub-10:00 TMT shows quite a bit of skill, IMO.

Hmm.. sounds a bit like me.  Wink

I really need to start playing the series again soon... it's been quite a while since the last time I did. (Besides Prime a few weeks ago, but I got stuck on my latest run while trying to pull off some new tricks.)

The TMT list can be a bit misleading sometimes due to how many people actually have all seven games: Doesn't look like too many actually do in my opinion.

I already know that my 100% listing will be a lot slower than my fastest times listing since I have never been THAT good at getting 100% quickly in any of the games...
I own all 7, and my goal is a sub 10 hour TMT. Right now, iirc, I'm at about 5 hours with Prime 1, Super, ZM, and Foo-Zhun, so that leaves me 5 hours for M1, 2, and Prime 2. I'm planning on getting sub 2 hours for M1 and 2 combined, but I suck at speeding MP2, so I'm going to try to improve my Fusion and ZM times and hopefully not get much more than 3 hours in MP2. I'll probably use a natural-run-like-hell route for it. I'll hopefully be done over christmas, as well as my 7-game 24 hour run (SS bonanza, yay). You should add a SS section to the leader board.

The only ones I don't own yet are M2, M3, and MP2. I might go buy a used M2 someday. I'm considering getting a used M3 and borrowing my sister's SNES (since she doesn't use it). Then just need to get MP2 some day and lower that time by like 15 hours. I'll catch up to Scarlet as soon as I get some motivation and time. She'll probably lower it considerably by the time I get a reasonable time for MP2 if she actually goes for good times (as in not stopping at 13:37), so I'll settle for a sub10 then.

And yes, I'm using Scarlet as a milestone. You got a problem with that? I'd use MERB, but he seems to be actually trying to improve. Still targets are easier to shoot for.

You asshole! Laughing

I have 2 SM carts..bwa ha ha ha.
Quote from Red Scarlet:

The 5:06 Fusion, which you've said you have no desire to ever do again, is very, VERY slow.  If you spent a couple of days running Fusion, I'd imagine you could get sub-1:30 with not much trouble.  Other than that, your times are all excellent.
...
Well, you DID ask.  Hopefully you won't call me an asshole.  Wink
Beware: off duty ninja
could someone clarify something regarding the low% run section? I was wondering if the low percent would be the lowest possible percent in the game via SB's and the like, the lowest percent that you are capable of provided it does not exceed the default low percent in a game (ie: no SB's to skip items, like the expansionless game in MP for example) or would it simply be the default low percent playthrough like I mentioned above?
I'd love to post my total time, but so far it's the 20 hour "never completed" for Metroid 1 and 2, and 15 hour "can't remember" for the rest...  I'm going to see if I can get some actual times recorded in the next couple of weeks...
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Well, it was the first/only time I played through the game in 2002.  It's not that bad.

Yeah, yeah, we get it. You hate fusion and love SM so much you bought two carts. You never wanna do a serious Fusion run because it sucks so hard. I agree it isn't bad for a first run. It's just a bad time as a "best" run.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
I don't love Super so much I got 2 carts; a friend of mine made a 'trade' for one if I just let him borrow my Genesis and a game for me to keep his cart.  Who wouldn't make such a trade?

5:06 is better than 20:00. Have a nice day.
go llcooldave.

guys, i think y'all might be making progress - just keep egging her on and maybe she'll take the record away from dawgs or kridly. :>

Scarlet, I can completely understand.  I have one time in my TMT (the 6:28 Echoes) just staring me in the face, murmuring (quietly and evilly, might I add) "I suck.  I suck.  I suck."  I keep saying I'm going to do a sequence breaking speed run of Echoes, and chop at least 3 hours off of my TMT.  Yet... I don't want to.  I find speedrunning Echoes to be about as much fun as watching reruns of "The Nanny" dubbed in Spanish.  I know some people love the game... but I don't.  I'll have more fun running something else, in an attempt to save 10-20 minutes, than trying to cut a big chunk of time off of a game that I find utterly "meh".
...
That said, doesn't mean that my Echoes time, or your Fusion time (good though it is for a first run), are anything other than slow.  Wink
