Well, mainly for the cheesing strat just understand that the feet do not hurt you, just the hands... so stay close to his tail, but don't get hit by it, and you should be alright. If you choose to not do the cheesing strategy, then I advise you get very, very good at walljumping... Ridley doesn't do his tail attack unless you're in front of him or behind him, which the cheesing strat more or less doesn't allow. However, if you're not doing the cheesing strat, you'll instead by morphing and rolling under him to avoid his tail, then when he decides to shoot lots of fireballs, don't get stomped on and shoot all of them, or if he does the tail-stab, then start walljumping and stay up on the wall like in the video I have on m2k2. Otherwise... well, your best bet is to work with the cheesing strategy. What about it isn't working for you?
He keeps grabbing me his his hands, but that's probably because I'm too close to his hands, and he starts whipping me with his taill and using that annoying "tail jackhammer". I've only got 5 Missiles and 6 Supers, not enough to take him out w/o refills. He turns red by time I run out.

But yeah, he keeps owning with his tail and his claws.
Cook of the Sea
So stay away from the claws and the tail.
Don't attack him too intensely, he goes berserk if you hit him too much in a small time interval. Simply try to space out your shots, shoot a super, wait a few seconds, shoot another super, and so on.
I beat him. Thanks guys.

hm i have a question:

when attempting a 15% run, what are the best items to pick? i'm going to attempt a 15% run to get more gallery pics. i want to know the best items to pick since i need all the help i can get to beat the game.
also, are there multiple gallery pics for 15% normal?
I'm assming you mean normal. If so, I'd advise 3 Supers and 3 Energy Tanks.

Also, I'm pretty sure there's only one 15% normal run screen-end. I might be wrong, though.
Ending 1 you get for doing any kind of run on easy mode, or from doing a run that takes more than fours hours with a percentage anywhere between sixteen and ninety-nine.

Ending 2 you get for beating normal or hard mode in anywhere between two to four hours with a percentage of sixteen to ninety-nine.

Ending 3 you get for beating normal or hard mode in less than two hours with a percentage anywhere between sixteen and ninety-nine percent.

Ending 4 you get for beating normal or hard mode with one hundred percent items with a time anywhere above two hours.

Ending 5 you get for beating normal mode in less that two hours with one hundred percent items.

Ending 6 you get for beating hard mode in less than two hours with one hundred percent itmes.

Ending 7 you get for beating normal mode with a percentage of fifteen or below. No time limit.

Ending 8 you get for beating hard mode with a percentage of fifteen or below. No time limit.

I need help, I'm now in a low (9 %) game at 0:37:16 and defeated Ridley and then Kraid.
To make it faster I skipped the Acid Worm, but:
My problem is, how can I get through the Rio Room? The elevators are off and the only way to get out of Kraid is getting Speed Booster, but this would push me up to 10 %. So is there another way or am I trapped?
lol no way
You are indeed trapped. You can't skip acid worm in a low% run unless you plan on getting screw attack.
http://www.metroid2002.com/0/speed_tricks_skip_acid_worm.php Bottom video.

Wouldn't something like that work? Yeah, you'd have to find a way to get rid of all the Rios, but... Do that, and you got it. Right?
I think there's no way to lure every rio away. You're gonna have to suck it up and grab the speedbooster.
lol no way
Not much real testing has been done, but all speculation says it can't be done, just because of the rios.
Is there any way to go back the way you came while skipping acid worm? If there is just run through the acid under the blocks (do this fast or you will die)
lol no way
Nope, can't get back above the room next to Kraid's room.
Yeah,i really hate it when i skip acid worm by mistake on a low percent run.
Mister ...

Is Acid Worm not a mini-boss that you can avoid?
You can definitly avoid him.

Yeah, you have to defeat him to get the elevators working.

I collected then Speed Booster so far.

But now next question: How do I get rid of these Zebetites? 5 Missiles are not enough.
You'll have to shoot Rinkas to get refills on screen, then shoot the missiles you have, collect the refills, and shoot those too.
Ha!I beat the zebetites with 2 missiles.Took forever though.
Good job. I haven't been able to kill them with four Missiles>_>

seeing as this is new to me, how can you skip acid worm under the low % with SA? I am assuming that there is a path that si available to you that would otherwise be closed, but where is it or what can be done about getting out of kraid with skipping acid worm under previously stated conditions?
You need either space jump, screw attack + power bombs, or speed booster to get out of Kraid in an acid worm skip. Unfortunately the former two are kind of off limits at this point in the game...

well I do know how to skip acid worm with speed booster, as that's a technique used in any% runs. what I meant to say was how could you get out of kraid under low % conditions with the screw attack and nothing else. no speed booster, or any other items (think 10% hard with screw)
