By fighting Acid Worm and turning on the ziplines.  Because there's no way out except past the Rios and no way to get rid of them without the ziplines on and without speed boost.

I am having trouble, im doing a 14% hard, and i cant beat the Mother Brain. I can shatter her glass, but after that, she kills me. Does anyone have some sort of stragety i can use to beat her? Here is my missles and whatnot:

1 Energy Tank (149)
3 Missles (6)
2 Super Missle (2)

I have been watching AJ's runs, since he does most of the Low% runs. But i still cant do it. Does anyone have any ideas?

So, you have to grab the ledge where the Mother Brain is??? How do you attack her on the ledge?

if you cannot manage to stay alive, swap a missile for the screw attack. it will make your life a lot easier.

Run until Speed Booster begins.  As Speed Booster is active, press down to crouch.  Then press jump and the direction you want to ShineSpark.

But dont you need the Varia Suit? That big heated room is the only way to the screw attack right?

Oh and, i solved my problem. I used that technique where you stand on the ledge right near MB. But still, don't you need the varia?

The Varia Suit is one of the 9 required items anyway, as you receive it when you get the fully powered suit near the end of the game. So unless you're going for speed, go grab it. And even so, it's only like 3-4 minutes lost if you're going slow, 2 if you're fairly efficient at it. Not too much of a timewaste.

So if youre speed running, you should grab it? Actually thats a good idea. Because when i do my Hard 14% runs, I NEVER grab it. But if i did, then i would get my average total % before i get my Fully Powered Suit, so incase i grab too many items, that extra % will increase it even more. I always check my item list and make sure i have all my items under 15%, before i face the Brain. So by grabbing it, i wouldnt get tricked into getting 15% total without aquirring the Varia Suit. Because i always go for the Low % when i beat ZM, and i want to make sure i dont get ANYTHING over 15%...unless its not an offical run, and just some useless one.

Meh, there's never been an official run, never will be, by anyone. But if you're still having trouble getting through some parts on low%, then go grab it and get more comfortable with the game before dropping it.

No, no problems here. i followed your stragety you sent me along with the one where you can stick in that spot right near MB's tank. I broke her glass like you said, did some damage with your stragety, then, somehow i started losing my sense of balance with it and used the "MB ledge" thing, i escaped with 04 energy left. At first, i tried the MB ledge one, but each time i jumped off her tank, and got a missle pack, i didnt position myself right when i tried to get back on her tank, and when i tried  i hit her, which put me in the lava..then leading to turrets and rinkas. But when  i did your stragety, i didnt lose any energy...i think. Thanks. That really helped. After spending hours trying to beat her yesterday, i almost burned my GBA in my fire place, and almost used it as burning wood (sarcasim, of course).  Evil or Very Mad But when i got your message, and tried it, along with the other trick, i felt relived when i FINALLY killed her. Thanks once again

Not sure if you understand this...whether you're getting the Varia or not does not affect your percentage at all.  When you get the fully powered suit the game gives you Varia as well, even if you didn't already have it, and adds that percent.  So if you're getting beat up you may as well get it; the only reason not to is to save time.

Well, its okay now because AJ gave me a stragety i used to beat MB. I also used the one where you can sit on MB's tank and shoot her with missles diagnolay. But if i DO have have in the future, i'll be sure to grab the varia

Well, you know, if you ever go for 10 or 9 percent, it could help... I get it on any 10% Hard single-segment attempts I do, because in that case the game's just a test of whether you can survive, not how fast you can go.

Well, since i beat the game on 14%, im going for a 9-10% run. Im probably going to start it tomorrow. I havent debated if i should do a easy or normal. But since i beat the game with 14%, im probably going to do it on normal. Im taking a break from ZM. But im sure that i'll do a normal, 10% run WITH the varia. I see how this can help ALOT in runs.

Oh god, who wouldn't Piccolo? I know I would... oh the hours I spent trying, oh my god, my hands, my gameboy... horrible things have happened from my failures, people. You have to understand this. I care too much about my gameboy to break it (again).

bummer. I always imagine where the space pirate will be, like one will be a little to the left, or on top or, whatever! Im going for a Normal 10%, so i have to make sure i know where each enemy is. Cant get hit once. Pray for me

i have a friend that destroyed his GBA SP while playing F-Zero Maximum Velocity because he kept crashing and stuff :p. he tossed it violently at a wall and the poor thing died badly.

then, he broke another one after playing the same game but the second one was accidentally.

recently, he sent me the remains and it looked very bad. surprisingly, the chip still worked when i tested it :o. just no screen and case :p

if 10% hard SS is too much, i'll gladly wait for a 9% normal SS instead :p :)

I threw my GBA down once while tring to kill Mecha-Ridley on 12%. The weird thing is the game cartige just popped right out when it hit the floor! That day was weird...
