I share your niggles with this game MASTER-88. Agreed there is usually no time to recharge your health against bosses. Even when you think it HAS to be the right time, now that all the little enemies are gone. But the next wave comes along and kills you at the last damn millisecond. Sense dodging is anything but. It's the laziest concept ever made. Mash direction when you have a barrage of beams, swinging arms etc coming your way. No skill and makes a sub par gamer think they have ninja reflexes.
I also don't like a lot of enemies in this game full stop. They are 'different' I suppose for a metroid game but are just tiresome dodge fests most of the time and they look frankly ridiculous. The rest are 1 hit kill room fillers. samus moves well in this game but maybe too well for her environment. In the Prime games she felt as if she was designed with the world in mind, but not here. It seems she was designed with only battles in mind. The environment seems secondary and not specifically there to cater for samus and her abilities. Plus most rooms are pretty bland honestly.
The fact that the story is the main focal point of the game actually makes me care for it a lot less. In the Prime games the story was there but not pushed in your face. So you were intrigued by it, you wanted to understand it, all the details. Scan this and that to learn about what the pirates, chozo, luminoth etc were planning or/had done. I rate this game about 5/10 too. It fails to suck me in like the prime games do like a sledgehammer to the face.
