Anywhere, everywhere

Haven't done a run of this game in a looooooooong time. I think my record is 1:12, back when I was good...? Something around that.

The recent Miles vs Paraxade runs on stream got me into the ss business again on this game and it was fun. It wasn't technically a ss because a died twice on the second mines trip with only 2 e-tanks, and I restarted on ridley because that little bastard did his invincibility glitch twice in a row for me! I got 4 e-tanks, 40 missiles, 4 power bombs, and skipped spider, grapple, supers, and gravity. I'd definitely be in the streaming fray if I had something to record with other than my crappy laptop camera. I think next time, I want to try using IS to get artifact of sun and skipping ice spreader since I don't do the thardus dash in a ss. I've never done IS in mp1, but it can't hurt to try!
Why skip Ice Spreader? it cuts Prime's first phase quite a bit.
Anywhere, everywhere
If you don't do the thardus dash, it and artifact of sun are out of the way. Maybe I should just practice the thardus dash to get it in a ss, and if I fail, fighting him may be faster than going the long way around.
lol ... i doubt it (that last part).
1:15 40% SS, lol. >_> Kind of interested in seeing how low I can take this...
go go go!
Yoshi is back
I beat MP. my time was 100% in like, 2:23.
Been playing a lot of MP lately and have lowered a lot of my times:

1:16 - 38% segmented
1:23 - 40% SS
2:21 - 22% segmented (first time, was able to get to impact crater in just about a day but MP was cheating a lot like KILLING ME DURING PRIME CORE'S DEATH ANIMATION and ended up taking 3 days)
2:15 - 100% SS

I was going to try to lower my any% SS and 100% SS times but my disc now gets an error on the screen that samus is flying away from Tallon IV (after credits, before time/%) so I wont be able to see my final time anymore.  Though I might try some descratching methods to fix this and try again to lower my times.

I bet you can shave off at least 2 while hours on your next playthrough.  Go for it.
Yeah I guess I could remove like... 3 hours atleast now that i dont have to run around everywhere and scan everything to find anything..
Not to mention Sequence Breaking takes off a lot of time.
Anywhere, everywhere
That's a hell of a lot faster than my first time.
Me too, because I wanted to 100% my first playthrough.

I have tried to do Space jump first but its really hard on PAL for me, cause if it fails then i gotta go all the way back up there and target the enemy and then go back to the ship and, yeah its just an pain, so I given up trying that..

Also, I would start playing through this game again (i have actually played up to getting the morph ball bombs), but I want to give my gamecube controller some rest, because the A button has gotten worn out, so its a pain to shoot rapidly now...
I've never done any sequence breaks on any of the Prime games, but it hasn't stopped me from loving the hell out of the whole trilogy.  In fact, I'm afraid that if I get into doing breaks then it will forever change how I play and how I look at the game over all, and I don't want to mess with something that's already so great for me.
red chamber dream
my first time through prime was over 20 hours lol ...

Y'know there's a easier way to do it (well I'm more consistent with it anyways)

Instead of doing a combat dash, do a R-dash by not letting go of L or the control stick and instead press R, it gives you the same distance as a combat dash but it pushes you back a bit so that you have a wider area to get on the ship.

Y'know I think later I could show you what I mean by recording a video and showing you through PM if you want.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
you can take off loads of time even without SBs. it is at the 3 hour mark where SBs make a big difference.

i'm also in the club of over 20 hours on first playthough. i didn't even get 100% items since i couldn't find a few of them.

Yeah sure do that if you want too ;)

EDIT: I improved 1 min on the Metroid Prime boss battle :)

Did a 100% SS run myself recently. I made up my route as went along, lol. Got 3:31

Well it was almost SS, I ended up with 99% so I saved at Impact Crater, looked up where the last item was (it was the missile expansion in Fiery Shores) and finished.
That's one minute shorter than mine and I didn't have to go back for an item.  :P

The only thing preventing me from doing a 100% run using the WR route is Newborn.

edit: which I just did. got 4:53. would have been under 3 if i hadn't fallen off the ledge in ore processing, spent an hour and a half trying to get back up w/o spider, and then didn't pay much attention to speed tricks the rest of the game.
