not sure whether i like the controls or not. it's unique at least. i guess samus's beam automatically locks on when holding the remote sideways? i saw speedbooster in there, that's cool.
i'm sure someone else has realized this, but when she said mother at the end, i noticed how other + m = mother.
you just got the whole other m = mother thing now??? O_O
on-topic: i love the gameplay, fast and acrobatic... man, this is the game... well, need to see the next zelda first... cuz, like it or not, it can beat metroid other m into a pulp if they wanted it...
boob beam transforms samus into kasumi, and let you take pictures of her panties for some seconds... if you take 30 photos of her panties in one session, you unlock metroid volleyball...

Yeah, saw what looked to be the Prime version of the Morph Ball in there, which was one of the better things they could've kept from the series.
Definitely saw the Speed Booster, Screw Attack, hanging off of ledges, wall jumping... Can't argue with any of that, especially the Speed Booster since we've never seen it in 3D. I have to mirror kesvalk's comment about the gameplay: Samus is very agile and acrobatic, something that the Prime series was unable to capture as well as it could, but I'm not knocking them for it since I understand why she wasn't able to move like that. So that's another plus.
What intrigues me is the segment when she's out in the forest. If you look at the map, and just the room's design in general, it looks to me like it's a full 3D room. Samus is heading one direction at first, stops to scan the glowing icon up on the walkway, and then starts moving towards it, which is an entirely different direction than she was going originally. Either there's some clever editing at work to make it seem that way, or else there could be a few rooms that are open and not limited to a 2D plane like most of the other ones seem to be. I could be completely wrong though and it's my eyes playing tricks on me.
This trailer came at just the right time in my opinion, seeing as some fans had probably lost interest in this already.
Hmm... forgot where we learned that. Maybe it's because of the control scheme or something, but it hadn't clicked until I saw that part of the trailer.
great video, not that this is news (they confirmed it months ago) but anyone who said it wasn't mother brain, yeah, you guys really are blind.
back on topic though, the gameplay looks good, finally another metroid game I want to play since zero mission (never a fan of the prime games) Metroid Japan team is back. the team ninja style and action additions are cool, but nothing mind blowing, I'm just happy to have the in house metroid team making a game again.
I bet everyone here five bucks that Mother Brain will return outside of the cutscenes. 1:52 Is it just me or does that guy look somewhat familiar? Reminds me of Phantoon.
(I won't bother trying to quote you) "Phantoon have tentacles?" Yeah, that's what I was thinking, that's why I said it REMINDED me of Phantoon, rather than "OMG! Phantoon!!!!!!111" When I read the title of this thread I was like "shit just another rickroll" but when I actually clicked on it I was like if you know what I mean. But yeah looks awesome. I hope you can travel back and forth between planets like in MP3. I'm guessing that's the case as the Bottle Ship is obviously not the only location and we can assume that it won't blow up, crash or be "undockable" as the guys that played the demo said that they played 45 minutes on the bottle ship, and they wouldn't make such a big chunk of gameplay and exploration just vanish like that.
I REALLY hope they actuually let you use the grapple beam as a weapon in this game. That would be epic.Especially with the grapple voltage from MP3.
