Wow, Ekard...  Wow...

Anyways, I have something funny to add since this is a topic about attempting to sequence break...  But it can only be done with an AR.

If you use the AR to give you Moon Jump and skip the High Jump/JumpBall boss there's a few funny things.  One is that open door where the cocooned Kihunter is suppposed to be is blocked.  Not by a cocoon, but by itself.  The door is open, but when you walk up to it, it stops you just like if the door were closed.  Weird.  Same thing happens at the top of the veritcal shaft.  Accept the door is closed and even if you shoot it with everything you've got in you, it won't open.

So I decided to go to Nettori.  The Plasma Beam boss, for those of you who don't know which one was Nettori...  I jumped in there and battled him just like normal, accept I used no missiles while he was in plant form.  Wouldn't have done much anyways, since a fully charged shot is more powerful than a standard shot...  Anyways, that wasn't the interesting part.  What was weird was battling the Beam Core X.  It shot a Plasma Beam shot at me and I jumped over it, and since the power wasn't off...  the Beam Core X's shot opened the door.

From there, I had two optioons.  I left, and upon returning, the Beam Core X was gone and the room was brown, like after the battle regularly.

The second was actually fighting the thing.  And as it turns out, the Core X's do get stronger as the game progresses.  It took over twenty-some-odd regular missiles to beat the thing.  When I did, it came up with the level one hatches now open message, which really pissed me off.

Try beating Nettori, all the way through with just the plain Fusion Suit, seventy regular missiles, regular Charge Beam, and only three Energy Tanks.

But what really creeped me was I went back to the beaten path Fusion set for us.  I went through all the places the vines were supposed to be, and they were all dead, just like after beating Nettori when you're supposed to.  But when I went to a room that didn't have vines, and then went to a room that did, the vines were back.  And so I went directly back to the source.  And the eyeball door wasn't there, but Nettori was back!

No, I didn't fight him again.  Well, I did fight him, but I died...

Probably 18.  I'd have to check, but I think Nettori's Core-X takes six Super Missiles, which would be 18 regular Missiles.

According to Nate, whenever you try to get an upgrade out of sequence, the game re-gives you whatever level of security access you currently have.  Harsh, but I guess there's something to be said for completely eliminating the possibility of cheating.
wait, did you activate the level 1 locks before you did this or no? if you did, then i don't understand why it happened again when you beat nettori ... i should really play around with fusion sometime.
Don't you just love event++ programming?

Ekard, did you emurape that vid or is it pure skill?

Ice Missiles also increase the damage. This is rarely noticed as it can't kill unfrozen freezable enemies.

Activated level locks.  Can't get to Nettori without activating them.  Unless you use more AR codes, but like I said, all I used was Moon Jump.

And it's twenty-one regular missiles to beat the Plasma Beam Core X.  I just fought it four times in a row, and twenty-one was the end result all four times.  So it takes twenty-one.

Oh yeah, did I mention that so long as the power isn't off in the station and you don't have Space Jump, you can fight Nettori as many times as you want when you use Moon Jump?  Twisted Evil

Good luck beating him, though.  Four all the times I managed to beat him that early, I must've died at least three times.

EDIT:  I'm pretty sure that beating Nettori before you get Space Jump will unlock level one hatches, regardless of what you have unlocked or locked so far.
In honor of the latest "break", I decided to do something different... make a picture about it!

-_-;;;

Got Blasphemy?

Anyway, I noticed on movie 3 that when you paused, Bob was skipped. I can only assume that this was on an emu. Or did you skip Bob on a cart?

Emu, naturally (go most contradicting phrase ever). No one has currently done Bob on console, and if they had, there would most likely be a flashy topic with brilliant lights chasing each other all over it.
and an update to the fusion section.

There's a Fusion section??????????

Too bad that sequence break isn't all that useful, besides killing the eyeguy door to save maybe twenty seconds in Boiler Room emergency sequence.

But it's amazing that Ekard managed it, nonetheless.  It's like another TRO trap...  Didn't somebody somewhere on this site create a theory that Ekard and Sess were the same person...?

Didn't we have a 'fastest meltdown segment' list? With this trick, faster times are possible! :P
Shifty Leader
That M2k2 guy
Wouldn't it only save about 3-9 seconds?

IMO, it doesn't look that difficult, but I dunno for sure. I've tried the TRO trap and you have to get that pretty much dead on on both sparking at the right height and shooting/wall jumping.
It wouldn't only save some seconds, it would also destroy one of the major random factors.

Is that the name of the poster, or are you threatening DeathNoble with cancer?
It's what happened to Sess'. According to Ekard. :P

Ah.  Y'know the sad thing?  If it really were cancer, we might never know.  One of those things that suck about the net.
'Tis very cool.  But is it humanly possible to make that many wall jumps in a row?

Are there any other places where this kind of infinite wall jump could be used where moonjump normally was?  The only other use I can currently think of is collecting 2 missile tanks early (the ones you'd normally collect just after Serris) by walljumping up the shaft next to the save station (or is it too narrow?).
You mean here?  http://www.metroid2002.com/fusion/100_percent_tricks_srx_missile_tank.php

It's not that hard to wall jump there...
I was thinking of the save station in AQA (to the right and below Serris).  That part of SRX would also be a excellent place to try it (and would make that missile tank an even earlier item).  One might also play with it for a slow Ice Missiles backwards (where did that page go?).
IIRC you're supposed to wall jump to the SRX missile tank... I think it shows that in the demo.

The 2 AQA missile tanks can be gotten before serris too. There is no such thing as "too narrow for walljumping".
Yep.  Ekard jsut proved there is no such thing as a too narrow shaft for walljumping!

Another thing:  Used codebreaker to go around and try and break fusion, but this game is truly unbreakable.  I beat Yakuza and the same message came up as when you beat Nettori:  Level one hatches now active...  WEird when you beat Yakuza, too...  The green hole up at the top of the room is there, but the animation of the wall doesn't disappear.  And then when you go to the next Navigation room, it simply says "target neutralized."  Or something...  And then like beating Nettori early, Yakuza is there again. :?

I was going for early Ridley, but I was stopped quite quickly.  I only had Moon Jump and Screw Attack turned on with CodeBreaker but I was stopped by a wall that required bombs.  And I had only just acquired Charge Beam...  Evil or Very Mad
