I'm testing all this and one thing that happened so far: If you go to Nettori early, when you get the x, it say that level one security locks are open, and you dont get the plasma beam.
Yeah, I just did that and got the level one hatches unlocked thing... Yay, another trap in the game that can only be acheived by AR codes... Hey, the SA-X wasn't there...
So what are some other places we can find a trap using AR codes like Moon Jump, I wonder...
[insidejoke]But Zazabi is now known as WD-food[/insidejoke] I just realized while fighting Nightmare that if you jump away and come back like instantaneously, you're higher on the ladder. If you can go forward, jump, back, and foward/jump again in like 4ish frames, you think you can actually gain height? Or do you just automatically grab the ladder the very frame you hold back?
*Shrugs* I don't know. But i found out the other day while fighting Nightmare this: When he begins manipulating gravity, if you have the health to spare, stand directly under him and shoot straight up. You'll take loads of damage, but he only takes three fully charged shots to get his face blown off. And here I've been shooting diagnolly and it was taking forever because only one of the three Plasma bolts was hitting him...
Here's what I've been thinking: If the secret message is viewed by skipping the Diffusion Missiles, but getting the Gravity Suit then talking to Adam... What are some other parts of the game where you get two upgrades in a row without talking to Adam? Maybe there's another secret message... Something like getting back to a Navigation Room with the Wave Beam, but without the SA-X destroying the Restricted Lab...
The only one that came to mind was get Bombs, skip High Jump/Spring Ball... But we already know that one...
They wouldn't put in another secret message into the game. Fusion killed sequence breaking so badly that even using cheats won't let you do anything, according to what I've found so far.
It really depends. My mom always says "if you're not cheating, you're not trying to win" (though this is not in the context of card games that she likes to play but rather online computer games that my brothers always zazabi about). But certainly if you don't include "win" then DZ's is true and the other is false.
What about getting out of the ice sector right after beating Nightmare? And not going to release level four hatches? Would be needed for that?
The ability to pass through breakaway blocks from below. Even if you did, it'd probably just give you the secret message and you'd have to go get the Diffusion Missiles anyway.

No Screw Attack blocks, eh?
I should do a total AR run, and use it to bypass certain parts of the game, see what happens... Except any time I ever turn Moon Jump on, the screen doesn't scroll at elevators...
Alas, the game continues to hate me. Mr. Bossdoor was there but Mr. Eyeguy was nowhere to be found (a side note, I play Japanese version so don't be scared of the text): http://www.metroid2002.com/ekarderif/boiler3.avi
