And I thought those fake doors and fake rooms on the map were kind of....not aesthetically pleasing. :o It, especially the map, looked more like a glitch to me and not anything else you two were trying for. It wasn't that bad considering the rest of the game's greatness, but it seems no one underestood what you were going for.

ok, well maybe the booze didn't help my precision for doing some of these moves... Wink

But yeah, It did take me atleast an hour of off and on trying before it finally clicked and i could do it.

I took a chance with the idea, in the end I went with it 'cause I love overlapping rooms. It adds more layers to the games 2d map format. And I'm not sure what you mean by 'you two were trying for', it's only me that made Cliffhanger. Only the easy version modifications had another hand in it.

ehm i have this problem i have tried to play this hack for super metroid but it freezes Question

when i try to play it freezes instantly after the map screen..... for some reason Shocked

i really wanna play this hack please help and since there are so many kinds of super metroid roms like super metroid (E) (english) super metroid (Ju) what rom u guys use to play it Question

getting sick of those freezes on the map screen to be honest Shocked

if this message is double posted sorry.. for that lag caused it...

I'm not even sure what kind of rom I used (someone else here would know that). But I know it's headered. So you'd want your fresh rom to be 3,073kb.

Anyways, it a Super Metroid (JU) rom, and Super Metroid (E) does NOT stand for english, it stands for the European versions.

It's simple. The hacks you see here are for the NTSC (Japanese-United States/JU) Version. Clean ([!]) and headered (3073 KB) is what this hack needs.

I'm in the room where we need to jump 2 platforms while speedballing :P to get the

energy tank.

But everytime I've managed to jump off the 1st platform I always come up just short (2 or 3 pixels aiwebs_016

) and smack the edge of that 2nd platform.

What's the best way of getting that?... If that's even possible to explain?

I thought that was a missile pack?? Is there an energy tank in that room too?? Anyways to get the missiles I run from the far right side of the room and then jumped immediately as soon as the room opened up. I jumped completey over & past the first platform and morphed into a ball in midair, bouncing off of the second platform and speed-balling into the wall.

Oops! #-o Yeah, missle pack. I'll try that and see if it works. Or... wait a minute. I don't have high jump boots yet. Because I don't come close to jumping that high the first time. Embarassed

Edit: Nope. I just looked (via wave beam) and it's an Energy Tank. ...Normal Version(?)

Yeah, I definitely had high jump boots when I did it because I was backtracking for items when I got it. I wonder if you could do it without it ? maybe by bouncing off of BOTH platforms like you said?

its a tank in the original version and a missile pack in the easy version.
I've never tried it with hi-jump so I'm not sure how that works.
what you do is speed-spring off both platforms to make it there. it takes alot of precision.

I actually never speed-springed off both platforms, just the 2nd one closest to the E-Tank (In the Original Version of course). I just got enough speed starting from the fire spitting face at the lower right most part of the room and jumped at the correct time and bounced off the left side of the 2nd platform, then towards where the upgrade was. Took me around 15 or so minutes. I did have the Hi-Jump Boots though so that might have been a difference maker there.

Thats exactly what I did too. The first time u get to that room, u have no high jump though. I wonder if its possible to get it w/o high jump boots by using both platforms.

I got it without high jump. The key is to mockball so that you can control the height of your spring jumps.

Roll to the right and jump? I forget how much higher a crouch jump and aiming down can get you, but do that. At the peak of your jump, aim straight down and move over.
